“Up ahead is the Ice Bone Desolation I just mentioned. Get ready… It’s terrifyingly cold there, and you’ll lose 10% of your health every second. Don’t force yourself. If you really can’t bear it, don’t push through,” Ye Tian Xie warned solemnly. He had personally experienced the extreme cold ahead.

“Ha! I, Zuo Po Jun, am a seven-foot-tall man. Am I supposed to fear mere cold? It’s rare for me to help my second brother. If I retreat because of the cold, the fourth would tease me forever!” Zuo Po Jun patted his chest as he spoke.

“Tian Xie, I’m not afraid of the cold. Don’t worry about me,” Su Fei Fei said as she tightened her Snow Velvet Coat. Although her face was slightly pale from the cold, her expression was one of unwavering determination.

“Hmm… just don’t overdo it,” Ye Tian Xie replied with a smile. He then took off his Snow Velvet Coat and handed it to Zuo Po Jun. “Wear this.”

“Ah… Boss, I…”  Zuo Po Jun hurriedly tried to return the coat to Ye Tian Xie. How could he, a man, take Ye Tian Xie’s protective clothing and leave him exposed to the cold?

“Wear it… I know exactly how cold it is up ahead. In such an environment, our mobility will be severely restricted. You must keep your body as agile as possible. Otherwise, it’ll be hard for us to pass through,” Ye Tian Xie said earnestly.

Seeing Ye Tian Xie’s serious demeanor,  Zuo Po Jun reluctantly donned the Snow Velvet Coat, albeit with some discomfort. Su Fei Fei’s lips moved slightly as if she wanted to say something, but in the end, she kept silent. She knew better than to interfere with Tian Xie’s decisions.

“And this.” Ye Tian Xie summoned his mount space and handed  Zuo Po Jun a White Dragon Horse, which could increase movement speed by 50. Then he summoned another White Dragon Horse and mounted it. Su Fei Fei, on the other hand, called out her own White Dragon Horse and climbed on.  Zuo Po Jun quickly followed suit.

On a hellish path, speed was the key to survival.

With preparations complete, Ye Tian Xie summoned Yao Yao and placed it on the horse’s head. The three riders charged into the Ice Bone Desolation.

As they entered, a bone-chilling cold enveloped their bodies like a descent into hell. Ye Tian Xie gritted his teeth tightly, while  Zuo Po Jun and Su Fei Fei’s breathing nearly came to a halt.

In just one second, they fully understood how the cold could restrict Ye Tian Xie’s movements and force him to retreat. It was a cold so intense that it pierced straight into their blood and bones. For the first time in their lives, they realized how terrifying cold could be.

Low-level priests couldn’t cast spells while on horseback, so Su Fei Fei couldn’t freely use her healing spells during the journey. All healing had to come from Yao Yao, perched at the front of the group.

Yao Yao wagged its tail freely, its body radiating a continuous, holy white light. Among them, only Yao Yao was entirely unaffected by the cold.

“Sec… Second Brother… Is that… is that the little fox you were talking about? Its healing ability… is way too insane!” Even with the Snow Velvet Coat, Zuo Po Jun was shivering violently, every part of his body trembling uncontrollably. His teeth chattered so hard that it seemed they might fall out at any moment.

Watching the massive healing numbers floating above their heads, both Zuo Po Jun and Su Fei Fei were astonished despite the extreme cold. Su Fei Fei’s healing ability far surpassed that of priests of the same level, but compared to this little fox’s capabilities, there was simply no comparison. According to Ye Tian Xie, this little fox he had accidentally acquired was just a level-three pure support pet. Could a level-three pet really possess such terrifying power?

Ye Tian Xie nodded slightly without speaking, enduring the bone-chilling cold. Without the Snow Velvet Coat, he was facing a far harsher cold than Zuo Po Jun and Su Fei Fei.

“Fei Fei, are you cold?” Ye Tian Xie leaned closer and asked softly.

Su Fei Fei’s face was deathly pale, but she forced a faint smile and shook her head, replying, “Cold… but I’m not afraid at all. This bit of cold… I’m… I’m not scared of it.”

Her voice trembled from the cold. Seeing the determination and resolve in her eyes, Ye Tian Xie smiled back at her.

Only through hardship could bonds truly be strengthened. Ye Tian Xie had brought Su Fei Fei to this brutally harsh and dangerous area not only to strengthen their relationship but also to test her resolve in small ways.

She was truly no ordinary rich girl. She gave her heart to Ye Tian Xie, and he, in turn, would give her his most sincere and genuine self.

Time passed slowly. Perhaps it felt like an eternity, but eventually, the icy world ahead reflected six shadows standing side by side.

Six Ice Wolves. These were the creatures that had forced Ye Tian Xie to retreat yesterday.

“Po Jun, can you still use your group taunt? Go… draw their aggro, and remember, pull all of them! Then run in circles with everything you’ve got!” Ye Tian Xie gritted his teeth as he shouted to Zuo Po Jun while pulling Su Fei Fei close.

“Go…got it!” Zuo Po Jun replied with all the strength he could muster. Slowly, he raised his nearly numb, heavy arms that felt harder than stone. His White Dragon Horse charged toward the Ice Wolves, and all six wolves dashed toward him simultaneously, just like the previous day.

“Fei Fei, quickly dismiss your mount… and don’t stop healing me and Po Jun!” Ye Tian Xie commanded.

Su Fei Fei recalled her White Dragon Horse. Shivering uncontrollably, she struggled to lift her staff and began casting healing spells alongside Yao Yao. As she activated her primary healing spell, the colorful bracelet on her right wrist emitted dazzling, radiant lights.

Zuo Po Jun’s group taunt successfully drew all six Ice Wolves’ aggro onto himself. The wolves charged at him in unison. Although Zuo Po Jun was a Shield Guard, he couldn’t withstand even a single frontal attack from six level-25 monsters. Seeing that the wolves’ aggro had been secured, Ye Tian Xie exhaled in relief and shouted, “Po Jun, run!! Lead them in circles, and don’t leave Fei Fei and Yao Yao’s healing range!”

Hearing his command, Ye Tian Xie’s White Dragon Horse dashed forward, charging toward Zuo Po Jun.

Mounts were completely protected while being ridden, unaffected by the extreme cold, and thus maintained full mobility. This was one of the reasons Ye Tian Xie had prepared mounts before coming here. Hearing the shout, Zuo Po Jun immediately directed his White Dragon Horse to turn and began running, dragging the six wolves behind him. With the 50-speed bonus from the White Dragon Horse, Zuo Po Jun barely managed to outrun the Ice Wolves. The six wolves, driven by aggro, relentlessly chased after him, but for now, they couldn’t catch up.

“Good!” Ye Tian Xie muttered under his breath, gritting his teeth. With all his strength, he gripped Destiny’s Hour and charged behind the wolves. A basic attack struck three Ice Wolves simultaneously.

The normal attack wiped out over one-third of each wolf’s health but didn’t shift their aggro. They continued pursuing Zuo Po Jun relentlessly. Despite his bluish-purple face from the cold, Zuo Po Jun only needed to focus on mentally guiding his horse’s direction. Watching the pack of wolves trailing behind, he couldn’t help but feel a little exhilarated. He now fully understood Ye Tian Xie’s plan.

With brute force proving ineffective, Ye Tian Xie relied on Zuo Po Jun to 『kite』the enemies. In this freezing environment, human mobility was heavily impaired, while mounts remained unaffected. Using the mount to lead the wolves in circles while the others attacked was the best strategy Ye Tian Xie could devise after much thought.

Direct combat, even with Ye Tian Xie’s vitality and attack strength, would have been suicide.

After the normal attack, Ye Tian Xie unleashed his first Dragon Fissure Slash, striking one of the previously damaged wolves and killing it instantly. Its health bar emptied, and it fell to the ground. Ye Tian Xie steadied his stiff body, raised Destiny’s Hour once more, and delivered a heavy Dragon Fissure Slash to the second Ice Wolf.

Ten seconds—ordinarily enough time for Ye Tian Xie to perform over a dozen attacks—allowed him only three Dragon Fissure Slashes in this extreme environment. Each strike precisely hit a previously weakened Ice Wolf, killing three in total.

The remaining three wolves continued chasing Zuo Pojun, but their slow speed and lack of strategy rendered them ineffective. Movement speed often determined victory or defeat, and with the 50-speed bonus from the mount, Zuo Po Jun was untouchable. The low-intelligence wolves couldn’t grasp the concept of flanking or cutting him off. Unless Zuo Po Jun stopped voluntarily, they stood no chance of catching him.

“Tian Xie, keep going!” Su Fei Fei encouraged through lips that were pale and numb from the cold, desperately casting low-level healing spells while replenishing her magic.

After eliminating three wolves, Ye Tian Xie launched another normal attack, hitting the remaining three. Following the same pattern, he systematically brought them down one by one. Before long, the final Ice Wolf collapsed to the ground.

Ye Tian Xie, Zuo Po Jun and Su Fei Fei stopped their actions and exchanged victorious smiles. The six Ice Wolves, which had forced Ye Tian Xie to retreat the day before, were now flawlessly defeated without any injuries among them. Yao Yao, who had been continuously healing, wagged its fluffy tail happily. In truth, it deserved the most credit. Without its extraordinary healing, Su Fei Fei and Zuo Po Jun might have withstood the 10% health drain per second, but Ye Tian Xie wouldn’t have even made it here.

“That’s amazing… Ha, I finally managed to help my second brother!” Zuo Po Jun cheered enthusiastically, only to grimace as the freezing air hit his lungs. The cold here rivaled that of the North and South Poles at their worst.

After collecting the wolf pelts from all six Ice Wolves, Ye Tian Xie quickly downed a bottle of mana potion to restore Yao Yao’s magic. (Note: Pets and mounts can recover health and magic in equal measure through the use of their owner’s restorative items.) Although Yao Yao’s Mystic Spirit Body allowed it to regenerate 5% of its health and magic per second, its constant use of Mystic Spirit Healing and Mystic Spirit Recovery worried Ye Tian Xie about whether its mana would hold up.

“Stay strong… The path ahead will likely be even more dangerous. Be careful,” Ye Tian Xie warned with a furrowed brow before galloping forward on his horse.
