Online Game: Evil Dragon Against The Heaven - 198
Ye Tian Xie leaned against the wall, slowly regulating his breathing. He couldn’t understand why he had acted the way he did earlier. Was it because Xiao Xi’s tender beauty had made him lose control, or…?
He vaguely felt as though something had momentarily stolen his soul, leaving his self-control at its lowest point. That was the only explanation for why he had acted in a way that even surprised himself. Xiao Xi was a girl brought to him by Xian’er and they had only just met. His actions earlier were undeniably inexcusable.
Knocking softly on Su Fei Fei’s door, it was a while before she finally opened it. By then, she had changed into fresh undergarments and a thick, light-yellow jacket. She wore a skirt hastily thrown on in her rush, leaving her long, smooth legs bare, as white and flawless as jade.
“Fei Fei, do you have any smaller clothes that Xiao Xi could wear?” Ye Tian Xie asked tentatively. Given Su Fei Fei’s tall, slender figure, even her smallest clothes would likely be far too large for Xiao Xi’s petite frame. Still, for now, he could only borrow something from Su Fei Fei. Once morning came, he could go buy new clothes for Xiao Xi.
This girl brought by Xian’er was about to become a new member of their household.
Before long, Su Fei Fei returned with a small stack of clothes, all silk outerwear. “Tian Xie, these are the smallest clothes I have. Tomorrow, let’s go buy more for Xiao Xi.”
“Alright.” Ye Tian Xie took the clothes and was about to return to his room.
“Tian Xie,” Su Fei Fei reached out to stop him. The cold from being drenched by the rain hadn’t fully subsided, and she hunched her shoulders slightly. In a soft voice, she asked, “Where will Xiao Xi sleep?”
Where to sleep?
With Su Fei Fei? Xiao Xi seemed to possess some inexplicable quality, as Su Fei Fei couldn’t even touch her body. Sharing a bed with Ye Tian Xie would also seem inappropriate—Xiao Xi appeared to be around thirteen or fourteen years old, no longer a little child of three or four. Sharing a bed with an adult man would indeed be improper.
Moreover, there were no other spare rooms available.
“She’ll sleep in my room for now. It’s late. We can figure it out tomorrow,” Ye Tian Xie said.
“Sleep in your room? That doesn’t seem… proper,” Su Fei Fei hesitated.
Ye Tian Xie raised an eyebrow. “Don’t worry, I’m not about to… with a little girl…”
“No, it’s not that… It’s… I’m still a little scared… I want to sleep with you,” Su Fei Fei murmured, her face turning a light shade of pink.
Ye Tian Xie: “…”
The heavy rain had passed, the dark clouds dispersed, and the sky cleared completely. Ye Tian Xie opened his eyes as the morning sunlight flickered faintly, catching his gaze. As he tried to get up as usual, he found his body tightly entangled by something soft, making it impossible to move.
Afraid of the thunder, Su Fei Fei had ended up sleeping in his bed, lying on his right side, while Xiao Xi curled up on his left. Thankfully, both were slender, so the bed didn’t feel overly crowded. However, poor Guo Guo, who lost her usual sleeping spot, had spent a long time sulking before tearfully curling up on his pillow, right beside his head.
On his left, Xiao Xi’s petite limbs remained tightly wrapped around him. From the previous night onward, she had persistently burrowed into his embrace. Even when she appeared to be sound asleep, any careful attempt by Ye Tian Xie to disentangle himself was soon followed by her unconsciously clinging to him again… much like a newborn instinctively seeking its mother.
Staring at the girl nestled against his chest, Ye Tian Xie found himself lost in thought for a while. Everything has its reasons. From Xiao Xi throwing herself into his arms last night to her clinginess and her behavior—it all pointed to something deeper. Although her eyes were closed, unable to see anything, her attachment to him, a man she had never met, was overwhelming. In just one night, Ye Tian Xie had experienced the extent of her fixation—a bond so strong it resembled a newborn’s attachment to its mother… perhaps even more intense.
He couldn’t understand the cause, nor could he find answers from Xiao Xi, whose severe language barrier made communication almost impossible. Perhaps only Xian’er could provide answers… just like the mysteries surrounding Destiny’s Hour and Guo Guo.
Xian’er… who are you really?
The things you’ve brought into my life—why are they all so mysterious? Are you truly… a celestial fairy from the heavens?
Ye Tian Xie turned to look at Su Fei Fei. A deeply complex expression flickered across his gaze.
Still lightly asleep, Su Fei Fei’s body was slightly curled up, perhaps because of the thunder last night. The blanket only half-covered her body. Ye Tian Xie moved closer, observing her face carefully—perhaps for the first time with such proximity and detail.
This was the girl to whom he had promised a lifetime. A girl who would accompany him for the rest of his life.
Her delicate features bore not a single imperfection. Her skin was as luminous as snow, her complexion as radiant as jade. Her profile seemed as if it had been carved by the finest craftsmanship. Her jet-black hair fell lazily across the pillow and blanket, framing her face and ruby-red lips. Her arms, exposed from the blanket, were as white as lotus roots, graceful and mesmerizing.
Ye Tian Xie had previously planned to gently remind her not to fall too deeply for him, even if it would hurt her. Yet, on that stormy night, he had suddenly accepted her without hesitation. The events of that night were so abrupt, so unforeseen, that even he couldn’t fully process them.
And the reason for Ye Tian Xie’s sudden shift… was someone who existed in his world alone.
That rainy night, as he called out “Xian’er,” a voice had reached him—one that Ye Tian Xie could hear, but Su Fei Fei could not.
It was the voice that haunted his dreams. A voice he could never forget.
That voice…it was what led him to accept Su Fei Fei.
Even now, Ye Tian Xie couldn’t truly determine if he had accepted Su Fei Fei because of Xian’er or if Xian’er’s brief words had simply opened his heart, allowing him to accept this girl who had already captured his feelings. Perhaps…it was both.
Xian’er… as long as you return, I’ll try anything… anything, as long as you come back.
Carefully removing Xiao Xi’s delicate arms that were wrapped around him, Ye Tian Xie silently got out of bed and left the room. He didn’t notice that as he closed the door, Xiao Xi’s hands quietly clutched the blanket and pulled it close to her chest.
A short while later, Ye Tian Xie returned, holding a small pile of clothes. Placing them at the edge of the bed, he gently shook Xiao Xi’s shoulder. “Xiao Xi, are you awake?”
“Big Brother…” Xiao Xi responded softly, extending her pale, tender arms from the blanket, reaching out for him to hold her.
Picking her up from the bed, Ye Tian Xie noticed that her previously soaked purple clothes had been completely removed, leaving her bare. However, her skin’s temperature was neither unnaturally warm nor cold, which reassured him—at least she hadn’t caught a cold or developed a fever from the rain.
“Here, let’s put on some new clothes.”
The clothes Ye Tian Xie brought ranged from undergarments to outerwear, all in a pristine white. Strangely enough, they fit her perfectly.
This was clearly Ye Tian Xie’s first time dressing a young girl, and it took him quite some effort just to put on her undergarments. His heart raced at least three times faster than normal. Xiao Xi, with her eyes still closed, remained calm, quietly enjoying his gentle care. By the time he was helping her into a dress, Su Fei Fei finally woke up. Rubbing her sleepy eyes, she sat up and watched Ye Tian Xie as he dressed Xiao Xi.
The white dress was stunningly beautiful. Strangely, it seemed to give off a faint, ethereal glow, as if a subtle halo surrounded the fabric. Yet, upon closer inspection, it appeared to be an illusion, as though the glow didn’t actually exist. Su Fei Fei, still groggy from sleep, assumed it was a trick of her tired vision. Watching Ye Tian Xie adjust Xiao Xi’s dress, she finally couldn’t suppress her curiosity and asked, “Tian Xie, why do you have girl’s clothes here?”
Ye Tian Xie paused briefly before smoothing out the folds on Xiao Xi’s dress and smiling. “These are Xian’er’s clothes from when she was young.”
Xian’er’s childhood clothes…
Did that mean… they had been together since they were very young?
“…” Su Fei Fei didn’t press further. She quietly observed Ye Tian Xie for a while before softly asking, “Do you like children a lot?”
“Why do you ask?” Ye Tian Xie replied.
“Look at how you’re treating Xiao Xi—so well, as if… she were your precious daughter,” Su Fei Fei said with a gentle smile. A girl who had arrived on their doorstep during last night’s storm was now being cared for so tenderly by him. He had held her as she slept, found clothes for her, and even dressed her himself.
“Because she was brought to me by Xian’er” Ye Tian Xie answered truthfully. He carried Xiao Xi to the edge of the bed and helped her put on her shoes.
Because of Xian’er…
Su Fei Fei puffed out her cheeks slightly, her thoughts drifting back to the previous night. She could recall every word he had said to her, as clear as if they had just been spoken. Perhaps she would never forget them for the rest of her life. She understood now that his sudden acceptance of her didn’t mean he had let go of his feelings for Xian’er. On the contrary, his love for Xian’er hadn’t faded in the slightest.
“You clearly love Xian’er so much… so why did you ask me to be your girlfriend? Are you…” Su Fei Fei tried her best to keep her voice from sounding aggrieved or uncertain. She wanted to ask, Are you playing with me? Or was it just a moment of impulse? But in the end, she couldn’t muster the courage to say those words aloud.
“It’s a secret,” Ye Tian Xie replied with a gentle, enigmatic smile.
His answer left Su Fei Fei feeling both frustrated and helpless. She wanted to get angry, but his soft smile melted her heart, leaving her unable to truly stay upset. She could only let out a mock-angry huff and return to her room to change clothes.
Xiao Xi’s breakfast was also fed to her by Ye Tian Xie. When she held the chopsticks blankly, unsure how to use them, and with her closed eyes unable to see where the food was, Ye Tian Xie sat beside her, patiently feeding her with a small spoon. Before each bite, he would test the temperature to ensure it wasn’t too hot.
Every small, careful movement reflected the doting affection he felt for Xiao Xi. Su Fei Fei couldn’t help but feel a pang of jealousy and envy. She wished she could be the one being fed so tenderly by Ye Tian Xie.
Was it because she was entrusted to him by Xian’er? Su Fei Fei found herself wanting desperately to meet Xian’er and see what she looked like. He loved her so deeply, yet why had he said those words to her? And if he had, why did he show no hesitation in mentioning Xian’er in front of her?
Feeling conflicted, Su Fei Fei ate her breakfast in silence, lost in her thoughts.
