Online Game: Evil Dragon Against The Heaven - 190
As Ye Tian Xie moved forward, he became slightly more cautious. The unpredictable falling icicles would be enough to make any ordinary player tread with extreme anxiety. However, for someone like Ye Tian Xie, his heightened awareness and reaction speed allowed him to sense the slightest shift in the air as the icicles began to loosen, giving him ample time to evade them.
His health continued to drop at a rate of 15 points per second, while it passively regenerated at 5 points per second. Dodging the random falling icicles, he advanced carefully, occasionally drinking a healing potion to restore his health.
In ten minutes of walking, Ye Tian Xie encountered no other creatures beyond the initial three Snow Wolves. According to the quest description, the ultimate objective was to 《fulfill the wish of the Ice Wolf》 rather than defeat it. After all, with the strength of a celestial beast, it was clear that no current player could hope to defeat it.
This suggested the mission was not primarily combat-focused. Moreover, Yaya had explicitly mentioned earlier during her quirky questions: 『You need to be smart, or else the scary wolf will eat you』.
Smart…
After another ten minutes, the path ahead finally changed. Instead of becoming wider, it narrowed significantly. It was still an icy cavern-like passageway, but the ice’s color ahead was distinctly different—it had become a deeper, more vibrant blue. The hue was so pure and intense that merely glancing at it evoked a chilling sensation, as if the ice itself carried a freezing will.
The moment Ye Tian Xie stepped into this new area of the frozen world, an overwhelming wave of cold struck him. His face paled as the bone-chilling frost invaded every part of his body in an instant. It felt as if the cold had penetrated his very blood, freezing it solid. The numbing frost reached into every corner of his body, every strand of hair, every drop of blood.
If the cold before had been enough to stiffen his movements, then this cold could freeze his body entirely and strip away his consciousness.
At the same time, a loud system notification rang in his ears:
【Ding… You have entered the dangerous map 《Path of Frozen Bones》. Within this area, the extreme cold will severely restrict your physical flexibility and drain 10% of your maximum health per second. Please ensure you are fully prepared before proceeding.】
10% of his health per second!?
With his current health of 2727, this meant enduring not only the torturous cold but also losing 273 health per second!
-273!
-273!
Three-digit damage numbers floated above Ye Tian Xie’s head, the glaring red figures startling him amidst the biting cold. Even with the best health potion currently available to him—one that restored 400 HP over 5 seconds, or 80 HP per second—this rate of recovery was far from enough. For ordinary players with only a few hundred HP, such potions were more than sufficient, especially when supplemented by a healer’s restoration.
But for Ye Tian Xie, with his unusually high health pool, this very strength became a fatal liability in the Path of Frozen Bones.
Apart from the 200 HP bonus from the Ring of Life, all of Ye Tian Xie’s additional health came from freely allocated stats and the forced bonuses of his Inverse Bone Evil Dragon class. Even if he wanted to reduce his health to minimize the loss rate, it was impossible.
Taking a step back, Ye Tian Xie retreated from the deadly Path of Frozen Bones. His health bar had already dropped by nearly a third in just a short time. Frowning deeply, he realized that the freezing cold before him was a far more terrifying enemy than anything he had faced before—it was an inescapable force, immune to even the highest abilities and talents.
After drinking a high-level healing potion to restore part of his health, Ye Tian Xie paused to think for a moment. Then, he lowered his head and called softly, “Yao Yao!”
At his summons, the Snow Fox Yao Yao appeared at his feet. Rarely summoned, the small fox didn’t stop to admire the icy world around it. Instead, it wagged its fluffy tail and looked up at its master.
Mystic Snow Fox:

Attributes:
Health: 340

Physical Attack: 58
Magic Attack: 116
Evasion: 17
Accuracy: 17
Attack Speed: 150
Movement Speed: 180
(Auhtor:For Yao Yao’s talents and skills, please refer to earlier sections. Writing them out here would get complaints about padding the word count.)
At level 12, Yao Yao still had no offensive capabilities, with all its skills focused on healing and support. However, compared to a priest of the same level, its 340 HP was already quite impressive, and its 1360 MP was outright monstrous. In contrast, its attack stats were rather pitiful. Yet, its healing effects far surpassed those of a priest’s beginner-level healing spells.
With its current 116 magic attack stat, Yao Yao’s Mystic Healing could restore 580 HP per use. Converted to a per-second basis, it could offset 116 HP of Ye Tian Xie’s health loss per second.
Adding in the recovery from potions and the Ring of Life, Ye Tian Xie’s actual health loss would decrease to about 70 HP per second.
70 HP per second…
In addition, Yao Yao’s Mystic Recovery, which had a ten-second cooldown, could instantly restore 30% of his max health. With Ye Tian Xie’s current health, 30% equaled 816 HP. Combined, this completely counteracted the health drain, allowing him to maintain his health while enduring the Path of Frozen Bones.
After closely examining the stats of the Mystic Snow Fox Yao Yao, Ye Tian Xie couldn’t help but marvel inwardly. A three-star pet, at just level 12, already had such an impressive healing ability that it would make any priest player sweat with envy. Even Su Fei Fei, whose healing capabilities had skyrocketed thanks to the Seven-Colored Bracelet, couldn’t compare to the healing prowess of the Mystic Snow Fox.
“Yao Yao, aren’t you cold?” Ye Tian Xie asked curiously, noticing how the little fox stood there calmly, wagging its fluffy tail, showing no sign of discomfort from the icy climate.
Yao Yao clearly understood him and shook its head.
“Let’s go then…Yao Yao, I’m counting on you this time.”
Ye Tian Xie took a deep breath and stepped back into the Path of Frozen Bones. The instant he entered, the biting cold struck him again, so intense it nearly robbed him of his breath.
“Absolute Path》—it could just as easily mean a “Dead End》.
Meanwhile, Yao Yao hopped along behind him, completely unaffected by the freezing environment. In stark contrast, Ye Tian Xie, his teeth chattering, glanced at Yao Yao and then, dragging a body that felt many times heavier than usual, pushed forward at his fastest possible speed.
-273, -273, -273…
+580.
-273…
+400.
Yao Yao, evidently highly intelligent, seemed fully aware of the extreme conditions Ye Tian Xie was enduring. Every time its healing skills came off cooldown, it immediately cast them on him. Though it had to stop momentarily each time it used a skill, Yao Yao’s agility and movement speed were nearly double that of Ye Tian Xie. Moreover, Ye Tian Xie’s frozen, stiffened body had slowed his pace to nearly half of its usual speed. As a result, even with its frequent pauses, Yao Yao easily kept up with him.
Less than a minute of walking felt like an eternity to Ye Tian Xie under the torment of the bone-chilling cold. Yet, the Path of Frozen Bones didn’t remain peaceful for long. Ahead of him, a row of snow-white figures suddenly appeared.
Snow Wolves!
Six Snow Wolves stood in a neat line, as if waiting for Ye Tian Xie. As he approached, the six wolves moved in perfect unison, lunging toward him.
Destiny’s Hour appeared in Ye Tian Xie’s hands. Yet, under the relentless assault of the cold, his hands felt as if they no longer belonged to him. The weapon, heavy as if it weighed a thousand pounds, was difficult to even lift. Breathing heavily, his gaze sharpened as he forced his stiff body to twist, narrowly avoiding the pounce of three wolves. But the remaining three wolves’ claws slashed across him.
-91, -92, -95, -272…
The combined assault of the cold and the Snow Wolves’ attacks took a huge chunk out of Ye Tian Xie’s health bar. Agile as ever, Yao Yao ( weaved between the wolves, casting a perfectly timed Mystic Recovery that restored Ye Tian Xie’s health to full. But as it paused to cast the spell, one of the wolves struck it with its claws.
-162!
Yao Yao’s relatively weak defense left it vulnerable, and the Snow Wolf’s attack took out half of its health in one blow. However, Yao Yao quickly healed itself with Self-Healing, instantly restoring its health bar to full.
Bang!
A Dragon Fissure Slash knocked one of the Snow Wolves back, but three more attacks immediately landed on Ye Tian Xie. The stiffness in his body nearly robbed him of all agility, drastically reducing both his attack frequency and accuracy. In just five seconds, while three of the wolves had been struck by Ye Tian Xie’s attacks, none had been killed. Meanwhile, even with Yao Yao’s continuous healing, his health had already dropped to half.
Sighing inwardly, Ye Tian Xie quickly summoned Yao Yao back to his side. Activating Evil Dragon’s Soul, he unleashed the Evil Dragon’s Wall.
The strength of the Evil Dragon’s Wall lay in its nature as true absolute defense. Absolute meant it could not only block any form or strength of attack but also isolate the user from all external influences.
Even the temperature.
Even the monsters’ aggression.
The Evil Dragon’s Wall enveloped Ye Tian Xie and the Snow Fox Yao Yao beneath his feet. While the barrier was active, Ye Tian Xie’s health continued to drop, but the unbearable cold vanished without a trace. Outside, the Snow Wolves relentlessly attacked, their bodies repeatedly colliding with the invisible barrier, yet they could no longer touch Ye Tian Xie.
Sighing, Ye Tian Xie reluctantly took out a Return Scroll. Protected by the Evil Dragon’s Wall, he was in a state of complete freedom, able to use the scroll to escape at any time.
Just like his first venture into the Ancient Ruins of Bones, his initial attempt in the Frozen Wolf Cavern also ended in failure. However, these two failures at least gave Ye Tian Xie insight into what he would face.
Would he have to undergo that little Yaya’s tests again next time he came here?
The mere thought gave Ye Tian Xie a headache. Before the Evil Dragon’s Wall dissipated, he crushed the Return Scroll and teleported away.
