Chapter 47: Dream Love Variety Show 7

It was Cheng Xinyi’s turn. She lowered her gaze, thought for a moment, and said, “From childhood until now, I’ve always been first in my studies.”

Then, as if she’d forgotten something, she quickly added, “In every subject.”

This academic aura is truly dazzling, Qi Yuan thought, bending a finger. He knew Cheng Xinyi was academically exceptional, but this was beyond extreme. No weak spots—consistently topping every subject—she was practically a scholastic deity.

Compared to her, he felt like just an ordinary top student.

The others silently bent down fingers as well. They had all been child prodigies, finding learning effortless. But none had consistently achieved first place in every subject.

Thus, each of them bent down a finger.

Next to Cheng Xinyi sat Jiang Wang. It was his turn.

“I’m biracial,” Jiang Wang declared.

His blue eyes were striking, and his features, deep-set like his mother’s, combined with the classic bone structure inherited from his father, made his mixed heritage immediately apparent.

The others bent down another finger. Among the seven of them, only Cyril was a pure foreigner. The rest were all native-born without foreign ancestry.

Qin Ke still appeared shy, but she seemed better than yesterday. At least she could sit alone now, without leaning on Cheng Huan.

Because of the rule about jobs written on the blackboard the previous night, Qin Ke couldn’t reveal her occupation and force the others to bend down fingers.

He felt a pang of regret, but there was nothing he could do about it.

“There was a time when I didn’t leave my house for six months straight.”

To win, he chose to reveal a painful memory. Yet, surprisingly, the anguish had faded.

Qi Yuan briskly bent a finger down.

Six months without leaving the house? Just staying home?

People often resort to extreme measures under duress and suffering.

As an outsider, he couldn’t truly empathize. But it occurred to him that if the person was now able to share this painful memory, perhaps the original wound was finally healing.

Qi Yuan was puzzled, but he knew this wasn’t his place to pry. He suppressed his curiosity, resolving never to pry into someone else’s secrets unless they chose to share.

Even in the Dreamscape, the people there felt just as real to Qi Yuan as those in reality. Their vividness often made him forget he was in a dream.

Cyril was the last to go in the first round.

He cut straight to the point: “I’m a foreigner. You guys bend your fingers.”

Cyril’s face had been expressionless, but when he noticed Qi Yuan’s gaze, the corners of his lips curved upward. His nonchalant eyes locked onto Qi Yuan’s, meeting his gaze head-on.

After another round, the mini-game concluded.

The ultimate victor was Cyril, a surprise to everyone else.

Since the show began yesterday, despite his striking good looks, Cyril had maintained a low profile, quietly observing and rarely speaking.

It wasn’t until this mini-game started that they realized Cyril was not only fluent in his native language but also spoke without the typical foreign accent.

Quite the hidden talent.

When the invitation segment arrived, Cyril didn’t hesitate. He immediately extended his hand toward Qi Yuan.

Staring at the large hand before him, Qi Yuan resignedly placed his own upon it, unable to refuse.

He just wanted to get through this part quickly. Glancing at the clock on the wall, he saw it was almost ten—time for the heart-fluttering texts to be sent.

Distracted by his thoughts, Qi Yuan hadn’t noticed Cyril’s actions. If he had known beforehand, he would have certainly stopped him.

But it was too late.

The tall, golden-haired man knelt on one knee and reverently kissed the back of Qi Yuan’s hand.

The kiss was so light, like the brush of a feather. If Qi Yuan hadn’t seen Cyril kneel and clearly press his lips to his hand, he would have thought Cyril hadn’t kissed him at all.

Cyril’s voice was soft and measured: “See you tomorrow, my Fated Partner. I’ll make sure you have a wonderful date.”

He paid no attention to the angry glares of the others around them, completely ignoring them.

By the time the pairings were finalized, it seemed only Cyril was satisfied. Qi Yuan remained oblivious to the situation, while the rest were clearly displeased. Considering the infuriating scene they had just witnessed, it was a testament to their composure that they didn’t storm off.

The final date pairings for tomorrow were as follows:

Cyril and Qi Yuan

You Qinghe and Cheng Xinyi

Cheng Huan and Qin Ke

Jiang Wang and Gu Yuzhu

The chaotic pairings made the director behind the screen nearly black out. He had never imagined that the variety show he’d painstakingly assembled would end up with Omegas dating Omegas and Alphas dating Alphas.

In this utterly bizarre situation, the only silver lining was the surprisingly good live streaming data. Not only was he stunned, but the viewers who had been camped out in the live stream room and the casual viewers who stumbled upon the short video clips after they were posted on social media platforms were equally shocked.

Dream Love had, in a sense, truly gone viral.

But this kind of viral fame was something the director didn’t want to face.

Wow, this development… tsk tsk tsk.

I swear, the other guests’ eyes could kill Cyril with a glance.

They’re all civilized, well-mannered Alphas and Omegas. They probably won’t resort to violence… yet. But…

But what? Don’t leave us hanging!

But no matter your status, when pushed to the brink, anyone’s capable of anything! And when it comes to love, people always lose their heads.

Cyril sure got lucky, actually managing to hold on until the end.

Wait, didn’t Cyril say he’s from the Empire? I thought the hand-kissing custom was only used in special circumstances, not just anywhere.

Who cares about the Empire’s rules for commoners? Cyril’s way beyond them.

You mean… that position?

Exactly. So why would someone like that come on a regular variety show, fall for a Beta, and act like he’s possessed? It makes no sense.

It’s practically possession! I swear I heard Cyril tell Qi Yuan on the livestream, “My Fated Partner.” Honestly, when you meet your destined Fated Partner, you can’t help but lose your mind.

Seriously? No way. You must have misheard. Meeting your Fated Partner is rare as hell.

Qi Yuan returned to his room, closed the door, and slowly slid down, his back pressed against the wood, until he was sitting on the floor.

Before he could even collect his thoughts for a few minutes, it was time to send the heart-flutter text.

Qi Yuan scratched his head, genuinely unsure who to send it to.

Just as he hesitated, seven messages popped up like mushrooms after a rain:

Anonymous (Cyril) → Qi Yuan: Looking forward to our date tomorrow. Sweet dreams.

It was obvious this was from Cyril, no guessing needed.

He swiped back, intending to read all the heart-flutter texts before deciding whom to send his own message to.

Anonymous (You Qinghe) → Qi Yuan: I’ll definitely win next time!

Anonymous (Cheng Huan) → Qi Yuan: So close, what a pity!

Anonymous (Qin Ke) → Qi Yuan: I hope we can go on a date together next time.

Anonymous (Jiang Wang) → Qi Yuan: The coffee was delicious. Could you make it just for me next time?

Anonymous (Cheng Xinyi) → Qi Yuan: I’m waiting for you at the villa.

Anonymous (Gu Yuzhu) → Qi Yuan: Thank you for the coffee today. After drinking it, all my fatigue seemed to vanish with each swallow.

Qi Yuan turned off his phone, pondered for a moment, and decided to send it to Cyril after all, since he was his date for tomorrow.

Now that he’d made up his mind, he planned to send future heart-flutter texts to whomever he intended to date next.

After drafting and sending his message to Cyril, he yawned, set his alarm, and decided to go to bed.

In the Dreamscape, his sleep quality was no different from reality—he fell asleep the moment his head hit the pillow.

The alarm blared early that morning.

Qi Yuan’s first act upon waking was to stand on the balcony, stretching his limbs and inhaling the fresh air.

Only after a few minutes did he go to wash up.

After getting ready and heading downstairs, he saw Cyril sitting on the sofa, reading a book. He looked like he’d been up for quite some time.

Hearing the footsteps on the stairs, Cyril looked up, his thoughts momentarily drifting away from the book.

Seeing it was Qi Yuan, he rose and tucked the book into the nearby bookshelf.

Then he walked over to Qi Yuan and said, “Let’s go out for breakfast, Qi Yuan.”
