Chapter 94

The narrow confines of the car were filled with Yi Shanshan’s fragrance.

Do I like mature women? Ying Yuan had never considered such a question before. But now, gazing at Yi Shanshan before her, she found her alluring in any guise, her every word charming.

Most importantly, Yi Shanshan had put so much thought into preparing for this meeting with Ying Yuan.

This elaborate makeup and outfit must have taken considerable time and effort. Just like Ying Yuan, Yi Shanshan had been waiting and preparing early.

How could I not love something she prepared for me? Ying Yuan nodded slightly.

The smile on Yi Shanshan’s lips widened as her palm cupped Ying Yuan’s cheek, her fingertips kneading her skin with deliberate intimacy.

Ying Yuan’s cheek, and the bare nape of her neck, flushed crimson under Yi Shanshan’s touch.

“If you like it…” Yi Shanshan leaned in, her lips brushing against Ying Yuan’s, carrying the distinct scent of her bold lipstick. “…let’s just ‘go with the flow.'”

Ying Yuan’s heart raced. Yi Shanshan remembered every word she had ever said.

It really is natural. Kissing lips like these in this setting? Only a fool who couldn’t appreciate the moment would resist.

Ying Yuan leaned in, obliterating the last sliver of space between them.

Yi Shanshan let out a soft moan, her fingers tightening on Ying Yuan’s neck, as if urging her to deepen the kiss.

Ying Yuan’s gentle peck swiftly transformed into a fervent exploration, her lips capturing Yi Shanshan’s soft tongue in a possessive embrace.

They closed their eyes, completely immersed in the scorching kiss.

Yi Shanshan’s body began to tilt backward, and Ying Yuan steadied her back, following her descent.

Yi Shanshan sank back against the seat, the bag of groceries Ying Yuan had been holding fell to the floor of the car, unnoticed.

In her arms lay an entire summer, a blazing sun.

In her arms flowed gentle waters, a surging ocean.

They cast aside all restraint and hesitation, surrendering completely to the moment. Their awareness narrowed to the sensation of each other’s bodies, the intimate dance of lips and tongues.

Their breathing grew ragged, and despite the car’s air conditioning, the windows fogged over.

Yi Shanshan regretted her morning kiss had been too brief. Now, she clung fiercely, determined to savor every moment, refusing to end it easily.

Ying Yuan indulged her.

Their brief separation earlier that day had acted as a catalyst, ripening the barely tasted fruit to bursting fullness. Now, finally biting into it, its juices overflowed.

They kissed for a long time, yet it wasn’t enough.

Yi Shanshan’s palm slid down Ying Yuan’s waist, burrowing deeper to explore. Her desire for Ying Yuan’s skin burned with an intensity she’d never known before.

Her body went limp, her vision blurring.

Fragments of tutorials she’d read and admired flashed through Yi Shanshan’s mind. She longed to put them into practice.

“Ying Yuan…” She shifted slightly, letting Ying Yuan’s kisses drift to the corner of her lips, her chin. Tilting her head back, she exposed her throat, where Ying Yuan’s hot, wet lips could press against her voice box, feeling the suppressed vibrations of her swallowing.

“Ying Yuan…” she called out again, gripping Ying Yuan’s taut, powerful waist, her voice pleading, “Promise me… promise me, okay? Let’s go together…”

Ying Yuan bit down on her throat.

“Mmm…” Yi Shanshan’s words were cut off, leaving only a moan.

Ying Yuan’s lips and teeth moved upward, reclaiming her mouth in a kiss.

“Okay…” she whispered between breaths, her voice soft as the ocean’s murmur. “Let’s go see the sea.”

Ugh…

Yi Shanshan’s joy blossomed like a flower, filling the air with sweet fragrance.

The summer night was still, the moon climbing silently in the sky.

It was unbearably hot. Yi Shanshan pressed her hands against Ying Yuan’s chest, pushing her away.

She sat up, gasping for breath.

Ying Yuan gazed at her. Yi Shanshan’s lipstick was completely smudged, the vibrant red overflowing, a testament to their frenzied passion.

A mischievous thought crossed Ying Yuan’s mind. “Was that enough?” she asked.

Yi Shanshan looked at her, her mouth slightly parted, her eyes glistening like those of an innocent fawn. “Huh?”

“Weren’t you going to regret this?” Ying Yuan pressed. “Will you still regret it tonight?”

Yi Shanshan burst into laughter, her eyes crinkling into crescent moons as her body trembled with amusement.

“What happens tonight stays tonight,” she teased, leaning closer to meet Ying Yuan’s gaze. “Yuan-dear, you think you’re so impressive now, don’t you?”

Ying Yuan cleared her throat, her voice suddenly hoarse.

Yi Shanshan: “But that’s all you’ve got, really. You’ve improved quickly, but you lack innovation.”

Ying Yuan: “……”

She genuinely disliked being told she lacked innovation.

Mastering fundamental concepts came as easily to her as breathing, so she believed that true value lay in innovation and development.

Whenever she received such feedback from her teachers, she would reflect deeply and secretly redouble her efforts.

Only when she produced outstanding results that left them in awe would she finally be satisfied.

Ying Yuan fell silent, planting the research topic firmly in her mind.

Yi Shanshan watched her, grinning as if she thoroughly enjoyed her current expression. Leaning forward, she retrieved a bottle of water from the storage compartment and handed it to Ying Yuan. “Keep going, girl.”

Ying Yuan took the water. “……”

Yi Shanshan twisted open the cap and took a long drink.

The icy liquid flooded her mouth, quenching her thirst.

Taking a final sip, she lingered, savoring the taste before tightening the cap and preparing to set the bottle down.

Suddenly, Ying Yuan leaned in and kissed her, forcing her mouth open and spilling the water she hadn’t yet swallowed.

The spilled water flowed down from their pressed lips, pooling and dripping.

Wet and overflowing.

The droplets trailed down their necks, disappearing beneath their collars.

As if the kiss itself had descended.

Caught off guard, Yi Shanshan’s heart pounded wildly.

Ying Yuan was truly a diligent student, brimming with initiative. Her innovative approach had yielded remarkable results.

But Yi Shanshan had no intention of telling her that.

Let her keep striving, Yi Shanshan thought. Ideally, she’ll be completely consumed by this, unable to resist pouncing on me the moment she sees me.

Their moment was interrupted by Ying Yuan’s phone ringing.

Her mother was calling. “Ying Yuan,” she asked, “you said you were just going downstairs to take out the trash. What’s taking so long?”

At that moment, Yi Shanshan was nestled on Ying Yuan’s lap, leaning forward, her lips brushing against Ying Yuan’s earlobe.

In her right ear, Ying Yuan heard her mother’s concerned voice; in her left, Yi Shanshan’s breathy whisper:

“Ying Yuan~ Am I trash~?”

Her breath spiraled inward, penetrating deep.

Ying Yuan’s body trembled slightly. “Mom, I’ll be right back,” she said into the phone.

She hung up and leaned in again, kissing the person in her arms deeply and passionately.

How could you ever be trash? You’re my treasure.

After leaving Yi Shanshan’s car, Ying Yuan felt her limbs go weak.

Yi Shanshan switched on the car’s headlights, illuminating Ying Yuan’s path. Ying Yuan straightened her back, trying to walk with as much poise as possible.

Rounding the corner, Ying Yuan braced herself against a towering tree, taking long, deep breaths to calm herself.

Leaving was as difficult as arriving. The lipstick stains on her face proved stubbornly resistant to removal. Covering her face, she rushed inside and bolted to the bathroom.

“What’s wrong?” her mother asked.

Ying Yuan stared at her reflection in the mirror. The lower half of her face was blotched with faint red marks, shifting left and right.

“It’s an allergic reaction,” she said.

She splashed water on her face, adding, “It’s so hot out today. I think I’m getting heatstroke.”

According to the law of conservation of energy, if an explosion burns too fiercely and releases too much heat too quickly, its duration, given limited resources, must inevitably be short-lived.

So she needed to cherish this time.

With the travel plans finalized, Ying Yuan abandoned her hesitations.

She began researching coastal cities, poring over travel guides with Yi Shanshan, discussing which locations boasted the most stunning scenery, ideal temperatures, and the tastiest seafood.

This became Ying Yuan’s favorite part of each evening. She’d send Yi Shanshan photos, eagerly awaiting her reactions, both of them anticipating their beautiful journey together.

My parents didn’t stay home long. After resting for three or four days, they set off for the next city to start a new project.

Yi Shanshan also efficiently wrapped up her work. With everything prepared, they agreed to meet at the airport.

As Ying Yuan entered the departure hall, Yi Shanshan dropped her suitcase, threw her arms wide open, and ran toward her.

Ying Yuan quickly pushed her crossbody bag behind her to avoid it digging into the person about to crash into her embrace.

The hall was packed with people, but they embraced warmly.

Yi Shanshan tilted her head back, beaming radiantly as she wrapped her arms around Ying Yuan’s waist, so overjoyed she practically wanted to twirl in her embrace.

“Am I pretty today? Am I pretty? Am I pretty?” she asked Ying Yuan repeatedly.

Ying Yuan carefully admired the person before her. Yi Shanshan wore a cream-colored ethnic-style dress, her long hair styled in soft, bouncy curls, a frangipani hair clip pinned behind her ear. Her makeup was fresh and natural, with deliberately placed freckles dusting her nose.

“Beautiful,” Ying Yuan said. “You look absolutely stunning.”

Yi Shanshan’s eyes curved into crescents. “If you think it’s beautiful, then you should look longer.”

Ying Yuan’s gaze was already glued to her, so she replied smoothly, “Mm-hmm.”

Their eyes locked, and time and space seemed to freeze.

Yi Shanshan leaned in closer, her long lashes fluttering as she gazed at Ying Yuan, her eyes sparkling like starlight.

“Ying Yuan~” she whispered softly.

Her voice was so soft and tender that Ying Yuan could already anticipate her next words.

Yi Shanshan: “I want to let things flow naturally~”

Ying Yuan’s heart skipped a beat. Just as I thought.

She lowered her gaze to Yi Shanshan’s lips, which were painted a fresh, vibrant grapefruit shade. The glossy finish made them look almost edible, like sweet, fruity jelly.

Swallowing hard, Ying Yuan said, “This isn’t the right place.”

Yi Shanshan: “Are you afraid someone will see us?”

Ying Yuan: “We’re in B City.”

“Oh, right~” Yi Shanshan relaxed her grip slightly. “Plus, at the airport, the chances of running into someone we know are too high.”

Ying Yuan: “Mm-hmm.”

Yi Shanshan blinked her wide eyes. “Once we get to H City, though, it’ll be fine.”

“It’s not our hometown, doesn’t have our school, and isn’t a popular tourist destination. We can pretend all our identities and relationships don’t exist,” Yi Shanshan said.

Ying Yuan’s heart surged. This was exactly what she had secretly hoped for when they chose their destination.

Yi Shanshan took her hand and led her forward to check in.

“We’ll be two completely new people, experiencing a brand new world, creating entirely new possibilities.”

“Mm-hmm.”

Ying Yuan squeezed her hand tightly.

Yi Shanshan suddenly grinned. “Kiss whenever you want, touch whenever you want.”

The bustling crowd milled around as airport announcements echoed through the terminal.

Yi Shanshan and Ying Yuan walked through the crowd, whispering intimate words.

She always expressed herself so directly, her desires so clear. Ying Yuan’s face flushed crimson, the blush spreading to her ears, yet she felt no shame.

“Since you insist on splitting the costs, we won’t go to the VIP lounge,” Yi Shanshan said, pulling her own suitcase without needing help. “Once we’re done checking in, we’ll head straight to the boarding gate and wait comfortably there.”

“Okay,” Ying Yuan agreed.

For this trip, Ying Yuan emptied her carefully hoarded little treasury. It contained the savings from her parents’ living allowance, wages from part-time jobs and odd jobs, and some scholarship money.

To make this trip possible, Yi Shanshan lowered her usual standards. No business-class tickets, no five-star hotels. Hand in hand, they walked among the masses, queued for check-in, luggage drop-off, and security checks, without feeling the least bit tired.

She felt exhilarated.

Everything felt exhilarating when she was with Ying Yuan.

Escaping her glamorous yet hollow world with Ying Yuan felt exhilarating.

Creating memories that belonged only to the two of them felt exhilarating.

Holding Ying Yuan’s hand, breathing in her scent, gazing into her eyes—all of it felt exhilarating.

She was full of life, like a plant brimming with water.

After breezing through the long procedures, they settled into the boarding gate’s waiting area.

The crowd was dense—families, couples, friends, adults, children, international travelers.

These two seats were thanks to Ying Yuan’s sharp eyes and quick reflexes, securing them just ahead of the crowd.

Outside the massive glass wall, the runway stretched into the distance, where the sky met the earth, punctuated by patches of pale green grass.

Today, the sky was cloudless, a brilliant blue. In this bright world, the waiting planes lined up like massive, clumsy birds, their wide wings sliding slowly across the ground.

Yi Shanshan used to listen to music while waiting, but now that she was with Ying Yuan, the waiting didn’t feel like waiting at all. Her ears were free, eager to hear Ying Yuan’s words.

“Shanshan, are you thirsty?” Ying Yuan asked.

Yi Shanshan shook her head. “Not thirsty, just want a kiss.”

“Shanshan, are you sleepy? I’ll get you a neck pillow.”

Yi Shanshan looped her arm around Ying Yuan’s, leaning her head against her shoulder. “Your shoulder is pillow enough.”

The fluffy, downy head pressed tightly against Ying Yuan’s shoulder, refusing to budge.

Ying Yuan gently tucked a stray strand of hair behind Yi Shanshan’s ear, revealing her pale pink cheek and delicate ear.

Even Yi Shanshan’s ears were beautiful.

Perfectly shaped, their thin lobes glowed faintly with light. A tiny star earring sparkled on her red earlobe.

Like a sweet strawberry.

Ying Yuan’s fingertips paused briefly before she said, “Shanshan, do you need to use the restroom? It’s not crowded right now.”

Yi Shanshan giggled, turning to look at her. Her eyelashes were like ticklish little brushes, and her dark, sparkling eyes were like mirrors, reflecting only Ying Yuan’s image.

“Want to sneak a kiss in the restroom? Would that seem natural enough?”

Why does she always take everything there?

Ying Yuan’s face flushed crimson, but she smiled helplessly.

She lowered her head and whispered into Yi Shanshan’s ear, “Shanshan, just hold on a little longer. We’ll kiss when we have a better setting.”

“Okay,” Yi Shanshan replied, puffing out her cheeks. Then she took Ying Yuan’s hand and began fiddling with her fingers, one by one.

Yi Shanshan: “Ying Yuan, I’m not getting my nails done anymore.”

“Mm-hmm,” Ying Yuan had noticed that already.

Yi Shanshan gradually nestled her palm against Ying Yuan’s, interlacing their fingers. “But my fingers aren’t as long as yours~”

Their fingertips trembled slightly, their palms warm and damp. Ying Yuan took a deep breath, falling into Yi Shanshan’s teasing rhythm. “That’s okay. Fingers don’t need to be too long. Just long enough to do the job.”
