My Straight Girlfriend with Skin Hunger Syndrome - Chapter 91
Chapter 91
That night was destined to be a restless one for Ying Yuan.
Lying in bed with her eyes closed, her mind raced endlessly, replaying memories and conjuring scenarios. Her body followed suit, rising and falling with the scenes in her head.
One moment, she was chilled to the bone by terrifying possibilities, the next, flushed crimson with feverish fantasies.
Only as dawn broke, ushering in a new day, did exhaustion finally tug at her consciousness.
But her slumber was short-lived. The sound of a key turning in the lock shattered the silence—soft, yet triggering an instinct etched deep in her bones.
Ying Yuan’s eyes snapped open. Without hesitation, she rose, phone in hand, and strode toward the door.
Having locked it from the inside before bed, the key failed to open the door, quickly giving way to insistent knocking.
Simultaneously, her phone buzzed. Glancing down, she saw her mother’s call.
Several unread WeChat messages lay waiting: her parents had finished a job early and were coming home today.
Ying Yuan: “!!!!”
That meant her travel-worn parents were outside the door—while Yi Shanshan, pantsless, was still in her room!
Her forward momentum froze. The sleep-fogged mind instantly snapped into razor-sharp clarity.
Ying Yuan didn’t answer the phone, turning the volume down instead. She whirled around and dashed toward her bedroom.
Yi Shanshan was true to her word: welcoming Ying Yuan meant welcoming Ying Yuan.
The bedroom door wasn’t even closed, hanging loosely ajar—no need to push the handle to swing it open.
Ying Yuan nearly stumbled as she burst into the room.
“Shanshan…” she whispered urgently, “Shanshan, wake up.”
In the dimly lit room, only a sliver of morning light streamed through the window, landing on the corner of the blanket. Yi Shanshan was fast asleep, just as Ying Yuan had imagined—not in any proper sleeping position.
One leg lay completely exposed, pressing down on the blanket clutched in her arms. Half her body was also uncovered, the hem of her shirt riding up to reveal a slender waist and a perfectly rounded, firm bottom clad in panties identical to Ying Yuan’s.
Facing the door directly, Yi Shanshan’s position made Ying Yuan’s face flush crimson the moment she glanced over.
Ying Yuan almost closed her eyes completely, leaving only a tiny slit open. Through this blurred sliver, she swiftly snatched the blanket from Yi Shanshan’s grasp and draped it over her.
The deeply sleeping Yi Shanshan stirred in protest at the sudden disturbance. Her small face, buried in her long hair, scrunched up in a frown, and she grumbled incoherently, raising a hand to swat at the intruder who had disturbed her sleep.
“Shanshan, Shanshan…” Ying Yuan called her name repeatedly. “Stop moving around! My parents are back.”
“Huh?” Yi Shanshan mumbled, groggily waking up. She struggled to open her eyelids and looked at Ying Yuan.
She looks like a fierce little bunny, so adorable.
Ying Yuan: “……”
I really want to slap my own brain. Is this the time to be admiring her cuteness?!
Her phone was still vibrating in her palm. Ying Yuan quickly repeated her warning: “My parents are right outside the door. You can go back to sleep, I won’t let them into the bedroom. But you need to be more awake and not do anything… strange.”
Yi Shanshan: “……Ah.”
Ying Yuan: “And definitely don’t leave the room dressed like that.”
Yi Shanshan: “Oh?”
Ying Yuan couldn’t resist shaking her shoulder. “Are you listening? Do you understand?”
“Hah…” Yi Shanshan’s eyes were watery, but her mind seemed foggy.
Her lips parted slightly, and she finally managed a complete sentence: “Meeting the parents, huh…”
Ying Yuan: “???”
While technically not wrong, the way she said it sounded… odd.
“Hehe,” Yi Shanshan suddenly giggled, her gaze locking onto Ying Yuan’s face. She stretched her arms out from under the covers, draping them around Ying Yuan’s neck. “Yuan-dear, we’re moving so fast~”
Ying Yuan’s blush instantly spread from her face down to her neck. Her heart pounded, and that familiar electric current surged through her body, tightening her lower abdomen.
“Don’t worry~” Yi Shanshan murmured sleepily, her voice soft and sticky, drifting like a feather. “I’ll be on my best behavior~”
So docile, like a fierce little lioness transforming into an obedient puppy in your arms.
Ying Yuan’s heart melted completely in that moment. Gazing at Yi Shanshan’s cheeks, flushed pink from sleep, she desperately wanted to kiss her forehead.
But of course, she couldn’t.
What time is it? What situation is this?
Having finally managed to calm Yi Shanshan down, she couldn’t afford to let herself lose control now.
So she squeezed Yi Shanshan’s shoulder briefly before pulling away. Straightening up, she turned to leave.
“As long as you understand,” Ying Yuan said. “My parents are easy to talk to. You don’t need to put on any special act.”
Only then did Ying Yuan truly close the bedroom door behind her. If she could, she’d lock it too.
The call had already ended. Ying Yuan hurried to the front door and opened it.
Her parents stood outside, their faces etched with concern. They sighed in relief when they saw her.
“You were still asleep,” her mother said. “You hadn’t answered your phone for ages.”
“Yeah, I was sleeping really deeply,” Ying Yuan replied, avoiding her mother’s gaze as she took the items from her hands and stepped inside. “A friend stayed over last night.”
“Oh?” Her mother sounded surprised as she slipped off her shoes. “A classmate?”
“Yeah.” Ying Yuan took a deep breath. “She stayed up too late last night and didn’t go home, so she slept here.”
“Ah.” Her mother paused, glanced at her father, and lowered her voice. “That’s… unusual.”
“It is,” her father agreed. “Your grandmother mentioned a classmate visiting you in our hometown before.”
Ying Yuan busied herself putting things away. “…That’s her.”
Her mother smiled. “Looks like you’ve made a good friend.”
Her footsteps were light as she entered. “Still asleep, right? You two…”
Ying Yuan quickly cut her off. “She’s in my room. I slept in the main room.”
“No, I was asking what you’d like for breakfast. I just bought groceries and can make something, or your dad can go out and get something.”
“No rush,” Ying Yuan said, her face flushing with embarrassment at her obvious attempt to cover up. “She’s probably still asleep. She doesn’t usually wake up this early…”
Just as she finished speaking, the bedroom door creaked open.
Yi Shanshan peeked out, her hair a bit disheveled but her eyes wide and bright, her smile sweet and utterly charming.
“Ah,” she exclaimed, quickly sizing up the scene. “Auntie, Uncle, hello~ You’re back!”
Ying Yuan’s parents froze, clearly not expecting such a girl to emerge from Ying Yuan’s room.
“Oh, hello.”
“Hello, hello.”
They replied awkwardly.
Yi Shanshan stepped out, her legs comfortably clad in a pair of gray sweatpants that Ying Yuan recognized instantly—her old high school favorites.
“Driving back so early must have been exhausting,” Yi Shanshan said as she walked over, pouting slightly and wrinkling her brow, her expression animated. “Ying Yuan told me you’ve been so busy lately.”
“Yes,” her mother said, “everything seemed to pile up at once.”
Yi Shanshan sidled up to Ying Yuan and tugged her arm. “Auntie and Uncle rushed back late at night just to spend a little more time with you! They love you so much—I’m so jealous!”
Ying Yuan had never heard her parents use the word “love” in her entire life.
She hadn’t lived with them during her childhood, and even after moving in together as an adult, they weren’t particularly close. They cared for and looked after each other, but such feelings were never spoken aloud.
Yi Shanshan’s sudden declaration froze all three of them in place, unsure how to respond. Yet, their faces flushed crimson in unison.
“Um… what would you guys like to eat?” her mother stammered. “Breakfast, you know, kids need to eat…”
“Right, you need to eat,” her father added.
Yi Shanshan looped her arm through Ying Yuan’s, her eyes crinkling into a smile. “Auntie, you’ve just gotten home. Why don’t you two rest properly? Ying Yuan and I will run downstairs and get breakfast for everyone! After you eat, get some proper sleep~”
As she spoke, she secretly pinched Ying Yuan’s arm.
“Yeah, that’s right,” Ying Yuan agreed, “we’ll go downstairs to buy some.”
Mom: “Ah, Ying Yuan, you take…” She paused mid-sentence.
Yi Shanshan immediately chimed in, “Auntie, my name is Shanshan—Yi Shanshan! Like ‘Twinkle, twinkle, little star,’ but brighter!”
Mom’s eyes crinkled with laughter. “What a lovely name! Ying Yuan, take Shanshan to KFC. You both love their fusion breakfast, right?”
Dad pulled out his phone and tapped a few times. “Ying Yuan, accept the red envelope.”
Yi Shanshan tilted her head up. “Thank you, Uncle, for treating us!”
Yi Shanshan let go of Ying Yuan and darted over to Mom, pulling out her own phone. “Auntie, KFC recently released these steamed buns. I think they’re pretty good. Check out the fillings and see what you like…”
They huddled together, heads nearly touching, as they scrolled through the menu and placed their order.
Mom seemed a bit reserved, but her smile never wavered, and her eyes sparkled with admiration whenever she looked at Yi Shanshan.
Dad neatly tucked his shoes into the shoe cabinet. He walked with a light step and straight posture as he entered. Passing by Ying Yuan, he reminded her, “Ying Yuan, take good care of your friend.”
Ying Yuan stood rooted to the spot, watching the harmonious scene unfold, utterly overwhelmed.
When Yi Shanshan moved through opulent, extravagant settings, Ying Yuan had felt she belonged to another world—a radiant princess whose life and future were beyond the reach of ordinary mortals.
But now, as Yi Shanshan strolled through her hometown, greeting everyone from one end of the village to the other, as she sat chatting warmly with her grandparents in their humble home, as she now clung to her mother’s arm, affectionately discussing what to have for breakfast… Ying Yuan felt the radiant princess had descended from her celestial realm and planted her feet firmly on the earth.
She remained a princess, yet she could now savor earthly pleasures alongside her heavenly existence.
She knew no boundaries; whenever she chose, she could effortlessly step into your world and make it her own.
“Alright, alright, I’ll order extra of this then,” Yi Shanshan said, tapping on her phone. “I’ll place the order now so we don’t have to wait in line later.”
Mom: “Eh, okay~”
Yi Shanshan darted back to Ying Yuan and linked arms with her again. “Auntie, just wait here. We’ll be back in no time!”
“Oh, don’t mention it,” Yi Shanshan waved, her smile as bright as a little bunny’s. “I’ve already slept in Yuan-dear’s room—we’re practically family now!”
Ying Yuan: !!!
Ying Yuan: ……
Yi Shanshan: “Yuan-dear, do you want to change? Ah, I almost forgot—we haven’t washed our faces yet! Ha ha ha, come on, let’s go…”
She was pushed into the bathroom.
Urged to brush her teeth and wash her face together.
Taken by the hand and led boldly past Dad and Mom.
Out of the apartment, into the elevator, descending smoothly.
Through the building’s entrance, into the sweltering summer morning, dappled sunlight filtering through lush trees to fall upon them.
Yi Shanshan switched from gripping Ying Yuan’s entire palm to holding just one finger.
That index finger, which she fidgeted with as they walked, pinching it between her fingers.
Soft, warm, like sailing on a tropical sea.
A smile crept onto Ying Yuan’s face.
A pure joy of being alive.
Yi Shanshan looked up at her, her own lips curving into a smile. Puffing out her cheeks, she teased, “Having a girlfriend like me isn’t so bad, right~~~?”
Not just “not so bad.”
It was a gift from the heavens.
The wildest, most daring dream she’d never dared to dream.
“You’re amazing,” Ying Yuan said.
“Oh, those are just trifles,” Yi Shanshan said, brushing off Ying Yuan’s worries. “Don’t worry about me making a bad impression on your family. I know exactly what I’m doing~”
She leaned closer, nudging Ying Yuan’s arm, her eyes sparkling with mischief as she looked up.
“I have so many more amazing qualities you haven’t even seen yet. You should pay close attention and really experience them~”
Ying Yuan gazed into her eyes, a tidal wave of emotions surging through her chest.
I want to kiss her.
“Even the things I’m not good at,” Yi Shanshan continued, “I’ll study hard and become amazing at them!”
Ying Yuan watched her lips move, her mind drifting into a daze. “Mm-hmm.”
Yi Shanshan frowned. “For example, I think my kissing technique is just so-so. Not skilled enough, not passionate enough. That’s why you stayed so calm last night, even after several kisses. You never lost your cool.”
Ying Yuan: “!!!”
How did the conversation suddenly turn like this? It startled me awake instantly!
Yi Shanshan pressed closer, half her body flush against Ying Yuan’s, whispering conspiratorially, “I’ve been secretly taking advanced lessons.”
Ying Yuan: “????”
“Last night, before bed, I read up on kissing theory,” Yi Shanshan explained.
Ying Yuan: “???!!!!”
There’s such a thing as kissing theory???
“Tsk, the author really went into such detail,” Yi Shanshan clicked her tongue.
Ying Yuan: “????”
Yi Shanshan playfully tugged on Ying Yuan’s fingers, teasing, “Ying Yuan~ When can I have my next practical lesson~?”
