Chapter 109

Yi Shanshan drawled out her words, her fair, pale face flushed with a faint pink blush beneath her eyes.

Her gaze fixed intently on Ying Yuan, she finished speaking, joy rippling in her eyes like sunlight on water. She was like an enthusiastic puppy, eager to express her affection for her owner at any moment.

Ying Yuan’s cheeks flushed crimson. She ruffled Yi Shanshan’s hair twice more, solemnly promising, “Next time, I’ll definitely let you have enough.”

Those words truly stirred Yi Shanshan’s heart. She adored how Ying Yuan could maintain such a serious demeanor while making such a flippant promise. It was as if Ying Yuan would wholeheartedly accept any request she made, with focused and genuine devotion.

Her mind reeling, Yi Shanshan tilted her chin and kissed Ying Yuan’s palm. The palm was warm and dry, carrying a faint scent of lemon.

Yi Shanshan glanced down. Just thinking about what that hand had done to her last night made her body feel weak and tingling, as if ants were crawling from her lower abdomen to her toes.

She kissed the palm again.

Her lips were soft and moist, and Ying Yuan’s fingers curled slightly.

Another kiss, and no one could guarantee that they wouldn’t be entangled on the bed again, unable to pull themselves away.

Ying Yuan, maintaining a rare clarity of mind, intervened.

Her palm slid down from Yi Shanshan’s face to her shoulder, encircling her back. “Let’s go wash your face, shall we?”

“Mmm…” Yi Shanshan remembered—she had indeed made this request herself earlier.

“Okay~” she agreed, pouting.

Ying Yuan first coaxed Yi Shanshan out of bed. Last night had ended without a definite conclusion. Before Yi Shanshan drifted off to sleep, Ying Yuan had given her a quick clean-up, but she couldn’t get her to put on her pajamas.

With Ying Yuan holding her, Yi Shanshan had no desire to get dressed at all.

So now, she was still naked.

Her luminous, full body nestled in Ying Yuan’s embrace, like soft dough waiting to be kneaded.

Ying Yuan grabbed the nightgown from the bedside and, steeling her resolve, slipped it over Yi Shanshan’s head.

Yi Shanshan tugged at the hem of her nightgown in protest, then tugged at the collar of Ying Yuan’s shirt.

Ying Yuan let her fuss, carrying her to the bathroom. She crouched down, letting Yi Shanshan sit on her lap, and reached for the slippers.

Yi Shanshan blinked at her. “Girlfriend, are you taking care of a baby?”

Ying Yuan paused, a little embarrassed. “I just… wanted to make things easier for you.”

Yi Shanshan wrapped her arms around Ying Yuan’s neck, slipped into her slippers, and finally stood up on her own.

“I’m not blaming you,” Yi Shanshan said. “Girlfriend, I just had this fleeting thought—if we had a child together, you’d be such a good Mommy.”

Ying Yuan: “……”

How did we suddenly… start talking about raising a child?

Yi Shanshan turned to brush her teeth and wash her face.

Mouth full of toothpaste, she was still pondering the matter, her brow furrowed in indignation. “We’d be such good parents, why can’t we have a baby?

“But babies are too much trouble anyway. Maybe it’s better we don’t…

“No wonder people get cats. Cats are great, so cute and cuddly…”

Yi Shanshan suddenly turned to Ying Yuan. “What kind of cat do you like?”

Ying Yuan: “……”

The blush on her cheeks deepened. She never imagined that on the morning after they officially became a couple, they’d already be discussing co-parenting a living creature.

Do you… really like it that much?

Are you really that satisfied with everything from last night?

Ying Yuan couldn’t resist taking a step closer, wrapping her arm around Yi Shanshan’s waist, and tilting her head to kiss the side of her neck. “You’re like a kitten…”

She paused, then kissed her again. “…and like a puppy too.”

Yi Shanshan’s scent gradually filled Ying Yuan’s nostrils—the natural fragrance of her body, emanating from within.

Memories and sensations swirled in Ying Yuan’s mind. She closed her eyes briefly and continued, “After washing your face and eating, you’ll have the energy to take another shower.”

“Hmm?” Yi Shanshan glanced at their reflection in the mirror, feeling waves of heat rising through her body.

“You sweated a lot last night,” Ying Yuan murmured, her face still buried in Yi Shanshan’s neck. “Besides, you’ve always wanted me to help you wash…”

Yi Shanshan quickened her movements, brushing her teeth with renewed urgency.

“Let’s go,” she declared, decisive and brisk. “Time to eat!”

Yi Shanshan ate her meal with a perfunctory attitude, but she consumed a substantial amount to regain her strength.

Brimming with energy, Ying Yuan dragged Yi Shanshan into the bathroom, locking the door behind them before pressing her lips against hers.

Ying Yuan kept her promise.

She truly helped Yi Shanshan bathe—no superficial wash, but a thorough cleansing, top to bottom, leaving no inch untouched. She tended to every part of Yi Shanshan’s body with painstaking care and meticulous attention.

Using her fingers, her lips, her tongue.

Water splashed across their bodies, droplets cascading down their skin in glistening streams.

Everywhere, rain-like beads clung to the air, thick with humid warmth, as if they were enveloped in a tropical rainforest.

They bathed for an eternity.

When they finally emerged from the bathroom, Yi Shanshan’s cheeks were flushed crimson, as if she had a fever. Her limbs felt limp and weightless, her feet sinking into the floor like they were treading on cotton, threatening to give way with each step.

Ying Yuan scooped her up and carried her to the sofa.

That sofa from last night…

Ying Yuan swallowed, bending down to gaze at the figure sprawled across the cushions.

Yi Shanshan’s beautiful eyes were now soft and languid, as if she couldn’t summon even the slightest effort. Her lashes fluttered slowly, but to Ying Yuan, they seemed brimming with unspoken tenderness.

As Ying Yuan leaned in to kiss her, Yi Shanshan finally raised a hand to stop her. Her arm felt weak, her palm pressing against Ying Yuan’s shoulder with soft, yielding resistance.

“I can’t anymore…” Yi Shanshan murmured, her honesty born of utter exhaustion. “I’m too drained…”

Ying Yuan chuckled, a faint smile curving her lips. “Enough for you?”

“Enough, enough,” Yi Shanshan replied.

“Never again?” Ying Yuan asked.

Yi Shanshan nearly exploded. “Just today! No! Just for now! I’ll be fine after a rest…”

Ying Yuan couldn’t hide her delight; her eyes curved into crescent moons. She leaned closer, her breath ghosting across Yi Shanshan’s lips. “Don’t rush, babe. I’m just teasing you.”

Yi Shanshan: “……”

“Rest well,” Ying Yuan murmured. “Just one kiss.”

Before Yi Shanshan could reply, Ying Yuan’s lips were already on hers.

Having the status of an official girlfriend changed everything. Ying Yuan no longer needed to ask before kissing her, and she teased her with unapologetic confidence.

Yi Shanshan wanted to scold her to reassert her authority, but Ying Yuan already knew exactly how to kiss her to make her go limp in seconds.

So Yi Shanshan abandoned resistance before it even began, collapsing back onto the bed and surrendering to the intimacy, letting go of all thoughts.

Ying Yuan kept her word—it was just a kiss.

It was such a blissful kiss that Yi Shanshan didn’t even bother opening her eyes, letting herself sink deeper into sleep.

When she woke again, Ying Yuan had already packed everything up.

“We should get going,” Ying Yuan said with a smile, stroking Yi Shanshan’s forehead.

“Mmm~” Yi Shanshan murmured softly, feeling that with Ying Yuan by her side, she could face anything.

The plane landed in B City.

It had been a perfect trip.

Ying Yuan and Yi Shanshan had left hand-in-hand, and returned hand-in-hand. They were even happier, more blissful, and sweeter than before.

Qi Hongyue stood at the arrivals gate and spotted them from afar.

Even on this short stretch of road, the two women walked slower than everyone else. Their palms were intertwined, arms linked, and their gazes remained glued to each other, never wavering.

Qi Hongyue’s brow furrowed, her arms crossed over her chest, and her lips pressed into a thin line.

Yi Shanshan laughed brightly, tilting her head back to speak to Ying Yuan. Every so often, her free hand would reach out to tug playfully at Ying Yuan’s collar or brush a stray strand of hair from her face.

Ying Yuan pulled her suitcase effortlessly, showing no signs of fatigue. Her eyebrows arched slightly, revealing a spirited vitality rarely seen in her everyday demeanor.

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Let’s see how long they can keep this up, she thought.

Three minutes later, Ying Yuan stopped to take out a water bottle from her bag and offered it to Yi Shanshan.

Five minutes later, Yi Shanshan playfully wiped a stray droplet of water from her palm onto Ying Yuan’s face.

Ten minutes later, Ying Yuan began taking photos of Yi Shanshan.

After snapping solo shots, she insisted on taking couple photos. When headshots were done, she went to great lengths to prop her phone up at a distance to capture full-body shots.

Qi Hongyue: “…………”

Enough was enough. No more restraint.

Qi Hongyue pulled out her phone and called Ying Yuan, watching as it rang for a long time. Only after finishing taking pictures with Yi Shanshan did Ying Yuan swipe to answer.

“Hello, Senior,” Ying Yuan said.

Qi Hongyue didn’t even want to talk to her anymore.

“Hurry up,” she said curtly.

“Huh?” Ying Yuan replied.

Yi Shanshan leaned in, grabbed at the phone, and shouted, “Qi Hongyue! Calling as soon as you get off the plane? Even the production team’s donkey gets a rest!”

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Her head was buzzing.

“Canxing’s head of content came in unexpectedly and wants to discuss our needs in person. They’ve booked dinner for 8 PM. We need to go over everything beforehand—there are still many unclear details about the content expansion,” Qi Hongyue explained.

“Just a moment,” Ying Yuan replied.

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Ying Yuan covered the phone’s earpiece and turned to speak to Yi Shanshan, her fawning demeanor clearly seeking Yi Shanshan’s approval.

Qi Hongyue: “……”

“Just look up once,” Qi Hongyue snapped. “This world doesn’t revolve around your precious princess.”

Ying Yuan: “……”

Ying Yuan finally lifted her gaze and saw Qi Hongyue standing before her, face frozen in a cold, speechless expression.

Ying Yuan: “……”

Without hesitation, Ying Yuan hung up the phone.

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Ying Yuan swayed Yi Shanshan’s hand as they walked, instinctively wanting to create some distance between them under Qi Hongyue’s watchful gaze.

But that reflexive impulse faded quickly, her thoughts sharpening.

Things are different now.

They were no longer just high school sweethearts on the team, nor were they stuck in ambiguous territory, merely proving Ying Yuan was hopelessly lovesick.

They were girlfriends now.

They had officially confessed their feelings and gotten together. It wasn’t just hugs and kisses anymore; there was now tangible, sweet, and insatiable intimacy.

“Ahem,” Ying Yuan cleared her throat, tightening her grip on Yi Shanshan’s hand.

Yi Shanshan followed her gaze and her eyes widened in surprise. “Holy shit! They’re ambushing us at the airport?!”

Ying Yuan straightened her back and strode forward. “Let’s go.”

Yi Shanshan: “Don’t worry, Yuan-dear! I’ll protect your labor rights!”

The pair strode boldly up to Qi Hongyue. Before Qi Hongyue could speak, Yi Shanshan cut in: “Good day, Boss Qi! We agreed to officially start work tomorrow, but you’re asking us to come in this afternoon and accompany a client tonight? Will there be triple overtime pay?”

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Qi Hongyue turned to Ying Yuan, who had already nudged her elbow towards Yi Shanshan. “It’s a bit sudden, disrupting our plans.”

Qi Hongyue: “What was your original plan?”

Ying Yuan: “Just dinner with Shanshan and then taking her home.”

Yi Shanshan immediately pointed to herself. “Yup! That’s right~”

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Qi Hongyue: “Your compensation will depend on the success of negotiations with the client. If the deal goes through, you’ll get equity. If it falls through, I’ll pay you hourly for the days you’ve worked.”

Ying Yuan: “That’s not exactly…”

Yi Shanshan: “Wow! That’s great, Senior Qi! You really understand the struggles of us ordinary college students and value our hard work.”

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Ying Yuan: “……”

Qi Hongyue looked at Ying Yuan. “You went on a trip and came back with an endorser?”

Yi Shanshan: “Senior Qi, you make it sound like I’m biased! I’m just offering a fair and impartial outsider’s perspective…”

Ying Yuan squeezed the soft hand in her palm, lifted her chin, and suddenly declared, “Senior, Shanshan and I are together now.”

Qi Hongyue: “????”

Yi Shanshan: “!!!!”

Ying Yuan’s voice was clear and steady, her gaze calm yet resolute. “We’re officially together—as a couple.

“From now on, she’ll be involved in every aspect of my life. Naturally, that includes work-related matters too.”

“She has the right to speak for me on any matter. I trust her completely and adore her dearly.

“For the sake of smooth future collaboration, I hope Senior can respect her views and requests.”

Qi Hongyue: “……”

Stunned and overwhelmed with conflicting emotions.

Yi Shanshan: “!!!!”

Her eyes sparkled with excitement.

“Hehe,” Yi Shanshan nestled closer to Ying Yuan’s arm, nuzzling her head against her shoulder. “Babe~ I wasn’t being that serious~ But I’m truly thrilled to be part of your life~~”

Qi Hongyue: “……”

I want to leave.

Yi Shanshan’s entire demeanor softened. She turned to Qi Hongyue, her big eyes blinking sweetly. “Senior, are you picking us up by car or…?”

Qi Hongyue: “There’s a taxi queue right outside the door.”

Yi Shanshan: “That works too~”

Yi Shanshan shook Ying Yuan’s arm. “I wouldn’t be so clueless as to interfere with your work, you know? Our plans can totally merge together~”

Qi Hongyue: “?”

Yi Shanshan: “I’m part of the project too! We can brainstorm together~ And we can all have dinner with the client tonight~”

Ying Yuan’s eyes lit up, clearly thrilled by this collaboration.

She looked at Qi Hongyue, who remained silent, feeling as numb as if struck by lightning.

Yi Shanshan: “Senior~ Is the project lead male or female?”

Qi Hongyue: “Female.”

“That’s perfect!” Yi Shanshan exclaimed, her big eyes sparkling. “Successful, wealthy women with exceptional work ethic, or those badass heiresses inheriting family empires—I’ve worked with tons of them! Bring me along and I guarantee you won’t regret it~”

Author’s Note:

I highly recommend this incredibly captivating new romance reality show story! Love Showdown: All Exes as Contestants by Qishangji, ID: 8761353

Synopsis:

Just as newly crowned Best Actress Cheng Shiyuan learned she had only one day left to live, she stumbled upon a way to extend her life.

—By getting close to her first love, her bai yueguang.

(Note: The kind of first love with multiple breakups and reconciliations, ending on a rather sour note.)

Cheng Shiyuan decisively signed up for the same reality dating show as her white moonlight, determined to corner her on set and piece back together that shattered heart.

But among the five guests, four turned out to be her exes.

“Cheng Shiyuan, did I ever mention that if you dared show your face before me again, I’d fulfill my brother’s broken engagement to you myself?”

Ignoring the stares of everyone around them, the newly appointed CEO of a tech giant grabbed her wrist, his voice a low, venomous hiss.

The hottest rising star in the industry, radiating smiles, stepped in to defuse the tension—only to whisk her away to a secluded, empty room moments later.

Teasing fingers traced up her spine, awakening long-dormant tingles of pleasure.

As the heat escalated—

The door swung open.

The final contestant to join the show, a Hong Kong tycoon’s heir, fixed Cheng Shiyuan with a dark, possessive gaze. “Planning to cheat on me right in front of my eyes?”

Cheng Shiyuan: Oh, right, almost forgot—he’s not an ex, he’s my soon-to-be-ex-husband.

Good news: Not just her white moonlight—anyone she got cozy with could prolong her life.

Bad news: None of them seemed willing to be the one to back down.
