Xi Zhoumeng was used to Chi Yueshan’s occasional sharp tongue.

Their relationship wasn’t chaotic, but it was mostly a back-and-forth exchange.

Occasionally, Xi Li was present; their mutual teasing was unbearable even for Xi Li.

Although Alpha and Beta glands are atrophied, the back of the neck is generally sensitive.

The source of pheromones, sensitivity is certain.

Chi Yueshan bit off the pheromone patch; she spat and then clung to Xi Zhoumeng, rubbing against that spot.

Xi Zhoumeng: “Not going to class?”

Chi Yueshan: “Took a leave.”

She snorted, “I came to see you, aren’t you satisfied?”

Xi Zhoumeng leaned on the sofa; her hands were still cold; Chi Yueshan warmed them. Although her tone was unfriendly, her actions were gentle.

“Satisfied, very satisfied.”

Xi Zhoumeng hugged Chi Yueshan, “Then you won’t go back to your dorm?”

Chi Yueshan: “Impossible, I have early classes tomorrow.”

Xi Zhoumeng said “oh,” then a little resentfully, “Are early classes more important than me?”

Chi Yueshan sighed inwardly, cupping Xi Zhoumeng’s face, “What did Dr. Hong Sa say? Is it still a pheromone problem?”

Xi Zhoumeng nodded, “It’s an old problem, don’t worry.”

Chi Yueshan: “But it’s scary, someone who was talking suddenly stopped.”

She nestled in Xi Zhoumeng’s arms; her nose was filled with Xi Zhoumeng’s scent, feeling safe.

Xi Zhoumeng: “I won’t die like that.”

She laughed, “Even if I want to die, it’s hard to truly die.”

Chi Yueshan didn’t understand; she thought this person was childish, pinching Xi Zhoumeng’s face, “How old are you? Even kids don’t say that.”

Xi Zhoumeng smiled, grabbing her hand; her face was bare, her complexion wasn’t good. But her lips were naturally rosy, not bad.

“You’re the kid.”

Chi Yueshan: “Practical training is coming soon; I’m not ready yet.”

Classes continued; this semester, Chi Yueshan rarely saw the royal family.

News reports about the queen focused on her health.

And changes in the magnetic field; experts speculated that the Insect Race invasion might come early.

The comments on StarNet’s special reports weren’t worried.

They clearly had confidence in the military.

Chi Yueshan felt uneasy.

Most people her age hadn’t experienced the Insect Race invasion; many wanted to see it.

Reports on insect radiation were hard to find online, but Chi Yueshan had seen Zhou Fengqin’s condition.

She was still afraid.

Even though she passed away peacefully.

People in the Lower World needed connections from birth to death.

Birth required finding a good hospital; if not, even a dilapidated clinic required money for a better bed.

Death was the same; people died every day. Corpses on the streets were taken away by transport vehicles; normal people needed money for cremation.

Zhou Fengqin’s cremation almost used up all the money from the mechanical shop.

Chi Yueshan didn’t know how her master managed; she had such good skills but didn’t save much money.

She said she left things for Chi Yueshan; it was mostly a tattered notebook.

Chi Yueshan scolded her dead master for being stingy at her grave.

But afterward, whenever she was sad, she would visit Zhou Fengqin.

Without a costly tombstone, Chi Yueshan built a maple tree for Zhou Fengqin using copper pieces; she didn’t even think about carving words.

Zhou Fengqin and Chi Yueshan depended on each other while alive; after death, Chi Yueshan worked hard to earn money, but she didn’t move her grave.

She still had resentment.

But she didn’t think it was necessary; Zhou Fengqin’s teachings were enough to offset this resentment.

But at this new stage in her life, she had nowhere to talk.

Chi Yueshan wasn’t old; she had experienced death twice, not to mention shattered dreams.

Now that she was so close to Xi Zhoumeng, she couldn’t help but touch her.

Xi Zhoumeng: “Stop rubbing on me; I don’t have that function, I’m powerless, as you said.”

Chi Yueshan pinched her waist, “I didn’t mean that.”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Powerless means I can’t mark, not that I can’t.”

Chi Yueshan moved away, finally understanding why she wore layered dresses and kept her distance.

Indeed, it was strange.

Xi Zhoumeng hugged Chi Yueshan, lying on the sofa together; the ceiling patterns were like mysterious totems.

Chi Yueshan had seen them countless times after sweating profusely; Xi Li mentioned that everyone’s room was decorated according to their preferences.

Xi Zhoumeng’s was the most exaggerated.

Chi Yueshan didn’t understand art; she felt it was aesthetically torturous.

“What do Omegas need to prepare? Just look beautiful and go.”

Xi Zhoumeng knew she wasn’t a true Omega, yet she shamelessly said this.

Chi Yueshan said, “If you really become an Alpha, have you thought about how to tell everyone?”

Xi Zhoumeng admired her beautiful nails, “What’s there to say? I’m number one as an Omega, and I’ll be number one as an Alpha.”

Chi Yueshan scoffed.

Xi Zhoumeng put a leg on her, “Scoffing? Don’t believe me?”

Chi Yueshan laughed, “How can I believe you?”

She pulled Xi Zhoumeng’s hand, “These delicate hands? These flamboyant nails?”

“You’re not even Alpha like as me.”

This sarcasm was very hurtful, making Xi Zhoumeng feel she had to perform.

Even groggy, she could still suppress Chi Yueshan, making her tremble and beg for mercy.

“Stop scratching me!”

Chi Yueshan pushed Xi Zhoumeng away, “By the way, Senior Wen hasn’t bound a mecha yet. I met Senior Xi Shuang on the way back; she complained a lot.”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Won’t the mecha storage room open the day after tomorrow? I’ll let her choose at the school warehouse.”

She said it lightly, but Chi Yueshan smelled something else; she grabbed Xi Zhoumeng’s hair, “You know something again?”

This person, seemingly only a year older, was much more scheming.

Xi Zhoumeng hissed, “The mecha of your favorite galaxy hero is, of course, the War God mecha.”

This was a mean remark, meant to annoy Chi Yueshan.

Chi Yueshan bit Xi Zhoumeng hard.

Biting her collarbone, drawing blood.

The delicate young lady, with fair skin, couldn’t easily hide bruises; this wound almost made Xi Zhoumeng jump.

She frowned, almost crying.

Chi Yueshan: “You don’t tell me a lot of things, I’m unhappy.”

Xi Zhoumeng had the AI robot get some medicine, “Too many things, I don’t know how to say it.”

“If I tell you, you won’t believe me.”

She looked at Chi Yueshan, with aggrieved watery eyes, “If you don’t believe me, you still scold me.”

Her ability to turn the tables was unmatched; Chi Yueshan’s chest rose and fell, she said, “When did I not believe you!”

Xi Zhoumeng: “The child.”

She couldn’t see the wound on her collarbone; holding a mirror in one hand and a cotton swab in the other, her expression focused, yet her answer was casual.

Chi Yueshan:  “Listen to yourself, that’s outrageous?”

“Child… what child, you, you haven’t… with me, how can I…”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Future things.”

Staring at her wound in the mirror, she sighed, “Can’t wear low-cut dresses anymore.”

“Our future child will look more like me; you, loving me to death, will die for me.”

“And you fought with Wen Xinghuo for me, sigh, you love me so much, she’s so…” ugh…

The cotton swab and mirror fell; Xi Zhoumeng’s chattering mouth was covered.

Chi Yueshan straddled her, ignoring that she had just recovered from a serious illness.

Xi Zhoumeng’s eyes curved; she opened her mouth to welcome Chi Yueshan’s anger.

She held Chi Yueshan’s waist, finally laughing, “You’re so strong usually, why are you so weak now?”

“Your waist is so soft.”

Chi Yueshan was about to bite her; Xi Zhoumeng pinched her chin.

Kissing her several times, making a crisp sound.

“I’m so good, it’s natural that you love me.”

Chi Yueshan was furious; she couldn’t imagine herself, a calm and clear-headed person, dying for love.

That’s outrageous!

People should look forward!

Ev, even if Xi Zhoumeng really has an accident, I definitely won’t kill myself.

My life has mechas besides love!

Mechas are also my wife.

But a child.

Having a child is terrifying.

And resembling Xi Zhoumeng, it would be so troublesome, pampered since childhood.

She definitely won’t learn mechas from me.

Seeing Chi Yueshan’s rising chest and rapid breathing, Xi Zhoumeng finally stopped teasing her.

She hugged her, “Don’t be afraid, it’s just practical training. You haven’t seen the interstellar scenery yet; it’s a good opportunity to see it.”

“Besides, if anything happens, you’ll protect me, right?”

Chi Yueshan couldn’t bear it anymore; she slapped Xi Zhoumeng and angrily went out to find some ice to cool down.

She ran into Xi Chun, who was visiting Xi Zhoumeng.

The Beta brother asked Chi Yueshan, “What’s wrong?”

Chi Yueshan: “Nothing, I’m angry.”

Xi Chun pushed open the door and saw Xi Zhoumeng lazily lying on the sofa, covering her face and smiling.

It was creepy.

Xi Chun: “Xi Li said you wanted his gem?”

Xi Zhoumeng rolled her eyes, “Brother tells everyone everything.”

Xi Chun scratched his head, “He felt it was unfair, crying and asking me to give you mine too, anyway, there’s more than one outfit for the fashion show.”

Xi Zhoumeng: …

What kind of person is this.

He handed over a box, the same as Xi Li’s.

It contained real gems; the material was pure; it was hard to estimate the price.

No wonder Xi Li was envious.

Xi Chun smiled, “Did you quarrel with Yueshan? She looked angry.”

Xi Zhoumeng: “We were just teasing each other.”

She sat up straighter and asked Xi Chun, “Second brother, I remember you mentioned a post about magnetic meteorites; can you find it? Show me.”

The system chattered in her mind.

[That’s the clue we deliberately planted!]

[Because restarting the world is hard to control, and we’re afraid of not being able to share data, so many… ]

Xi Zhoumeng told it to stop.

It was useless anyway; even knowing the cause and effect, Xi Zhoumeng felt it wasn’t perfect just because she was reborn.

Xi Chun exclaimed, thinking for a moment, opening his holocom to search.

His holocom interface was still on the Capital Star’s news section; the voice broadcast wasn’t turned off——

“The queen’s heir will be announced next Wednesday.”

“According to reports, Princess Sheng Xinggui, due to pheromone issues, combined with her knight, will soon be exiled to the Lower World…”

“Sali Rong’s mansion is nearing completion…”

“The M star system’s expeditionary force will cooperate with this star system’s expeditionary force again…”

“Famous space fluctuation scholar Duan Kerou’s laboratory researchers discovered new cosmic fragments and announced a special research topic on time folding…”

Xi Chun closed the page, “It feels like we’re going back to war.”

Xi Zhoumeng sent a message to Xi Shuang, reminding her to take Wen Xinghuo to the school’s mecha storage room to try.

She said, “Can it be considered war with the Insect Race?”

Xi Chun: “Isn’t it? There are no resource wars between star systems now.”

The future memories Xi Zhoumeng saw were different from the advanced creatures in the novels she read.

They weren’t human-shaped; they were just a kind of lower life form, single-celled and parasitic.

To be ruled by such lower life forms for so many years.

It was a shame.

“Found it, I’ll send it to you.”

Xi Chun was on leave; he wasn’t in a hurry to leave and asked Xi Zhoumeng, “Don’t you dislike these ghost stories? Why are you suddenly interested?”

Xi Zhoumeng lied without drafting, “Chi Yueshan likes them; I’ll read them to her before bed.”

Chi Yueshan returned calmly.

But it didn’t have much effect.

She furiously shouted at Xi Zhoumeng, “Who wants you to read bedtime stories!! Pervert!”

Xi Chun didn’t understand; he looked at the blushing Chi Yueshan and the suddenly enlightened Xi Zhoumeng.

“What’s wrong with bedtime stories? My daughter likes them too.”

Chi Yueshan stammered; she didn’t dare say it was adult-themed vulgarity.

It was a kind of signal between them.

Completely different from children’s bedtime stories.

Besides, Xi Zhoumeng’s storytelling was seductive; even normal idioms were ruined, making Chi Yueshan unable to listen.

“It’s… it’s…”

Chi Yueshan couldn’t speak; Xi Zhoumeng smiled and seriously said to Xi Chun——

“I told her a mythological story; it turned out to be a re-adaptation, a story about a snake spirit and a human.”

Xi Chun said “oh,” “I know, a love story.”

Chi Yueshan pursed her lips, feeling hopeless.

Probably only I know Xi Zhoumeng tells stories while lying down.

If she’s not a pervert, who is!

Author’s Note:

Bedtime Stories

Xi Zhoumeng looks high-class; she seems to only read classic works.

But Chi Yueshan saw many…

books with only famous works on the cover in her room.

Then she remembered the bookshelf in her dorm, various fancy English covers.

They were probably vulgar and bloody trashy literature.

Xi Zhoumeng: “What do you want to hear today? I’ll read it to you.”

The person was shameless; she pointed to her collection, “Choose whatever you want, little sister, I’ll read it to you.”

She liked changing addresses; sister and little sister, she would change them according to the content.

Chi Yueshan: “No, can I sleep normally?”

She was still worried about her failed waist chain; she was impatient.

“If you can’t sleep, read it yourself, why read it out loud?”

The young lady, after taking a bath and doing skincare, looked like a perfume spirit,

but Chi Yueshan could smell the bitter pheromones in the strong perfume.

She was dressed a little indecently; what kind of dress is this, the slit goes to the abdomen, it’s not even a dress, right?

Xi Zhoumeng: “Why are you so unhappy every day?”

Chi Yueshan: “This is normal worry, unlike you, eating and drinking well, only thinking about that kind of thing.”

Xi Zhoumeng smiled without speaking, casually picking up a book.

She sighed “That’s not just something *I* want; someone keeps touching me at night.”

Chi Yueshan’s hair wasn’t completely dry; her hair wasn’t soft, making Xi Zhoumeng feel like a hedgehog.

“La, last time was an accident!”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Still not telling me what you dreamt about?”

Chi Yueshan’s face turned red; she mumbled into the new pillowcase, “I won’t tell you.”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Today’s story is called “Pure Widow and Chic Mother-in-law”.”

Chi Yueshan: “…Can you be a little more elegant?”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Not elegant? “My Mother-in-law’s Nights”?”

Chi Yueshan: …

Xi Zhoumeng: “I didn’t expect my mother-in-law to come to my room; my bed is new, soft like a cloud; my mother-in-law’s…”

Chi Yueshan: “Stop reading!!! Be normal!”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Then I’ll read my annotations.”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Not explicit enough, not as wet and soft as my wife.”

Chi Yueshan suddenly turned over and took the book away; looking at the annotations, they were blank.

Xi Zhoumeng was making things up again.

Chi Yueshan seems calm in front of her classmates; but Xi Zhoumeng could easily stir up all her emotions.

Xi Zhoumeng smiled, “See, it’s like this, up and down, like waves, more powerful than clouds.”

She leaned in and blew, as if blowing into the heart of a yellow rose.

“What’s there to be angry about? I’m praising you.”

Chi Yueshan: “Can’t you praise me properly? The artistic kind.”

Xi Zhoumeng: “Hmm?”

She nodded, burying herself in the flower’s heart, mumbling.

Chi Yueshan trembled even more, whether from shyness or annoyance.

But she was softer.

Damn it, what’s wrong with being in a bud? It’s a normal word.

Why am I… again.

This person is so annoying.
