Zhou Li’s entire body tensed. He never imagined that what she’d been fixated on all along was stripping off his clothes.

She really was… hopelessly lustful.

“No.” Zhou Li caught her hand with his other one, stopping her movement.

“I want it.” Her voice was soft, like a thread tugging at his hand, leaving him momentarily unsure what to do.

He knew she was under the control of a seductive spell, so he didn’t forcefully pull her away. He only held her tightly, refusing to let her take things any further. “No.”

Rejected twice, Lu Rong stared at him blankly, her eyes slowly filling with tears. “You hate me.”

Zhou Li looked at the shimmer in her eyes, full of grievance. But she was clearly the one who hated him.

He stared into her eyes. He didn’t want to argue with someone whose mind wasn’t clear. He released her left hand, intending to dispel the spell again.

But Lu Rong seized the moment, lowered her head, and bit his neck like a deflated breath. Zhou Li had no time to react before her warm lips pressed against his Adam’s apple, followed by her teeth nudging it, trying to stop its movement. He instinctively tilted his head back, his Adam’s apple slipping away from her lips.

She didn’t stop. Instead, she moved downward, her hot breath falling on his collarbone as she bit into his collar, trying to tear it open.

Zhou Li’s heart jumped. He grabbed her chin, staring at her troublesome lips—moist and rosy.

He remembered how she’d wanted to kiss his lips swollen.

His fingertips pressed against her damp lips. Their softness made him press harder, turning her originally pink lips into a ripe, honey-glossed red.

A place this soft would indeed swell with just a little force.

But he still didn’t loosen his grip. The faint sting on his neck from her earlier bite made him want to lower his head and bite her back.

Her lips trapped under his fingers, Lu Rong opened her mouth in discomfort and bit his fingertip, her dazed eyes looking at him innocently, her tongue brushing lightly against him.

The Frostcrack Sword, crushed between them, finally slipped free and fell to the floor with a sharp clang. Zhou Li’s whole body trembled. He yanked his hand away, this time without the slightest mercy, and pulled her upright.

“Stand still.”

Lu Rong stumbled, nearly falling into his arms. Zhou Li shifted his hold from her forearm to her shoulders.

“I’ll take you back.”

If he stayed with her any longer, he was sure he wouldn’t be able to hold himself together.

His body was burning. His thoughts were a mess.

The air itself felt thinner.

“I’m not going back.” She stared straight at him, refusing to yield.

For the first time, Zhou Li felt he might actually lose his mind. Just how deep ran her obsession with stripping his clothes?

He went cold again, lifting her up to take her outside. But as he opened the door, he came face-to-face with the two Mo brothers rushing over.

The commotion on East Street must’ve alarmed them. Mo Chou hurried upstairs and, upon seeing Lu Rong, ran over anxiously.

“Miss Lu!” His face was full of worry. But before he even reached the doorway, Zhou Li pulled Lu Rong back inside and slammed the door shut.

Mo Chou: “???”

Zhou Li looked at the woman in his arms. She was under a charm spell. He couldn’t let her be alone with anyone who had questionable intentions.

From outside came Mo Chou’s voice: “Senior Brother Zhou, what’s wrong with Miss Lu?”

Zhou Li answered curtly, “None of your business.”

Lu Rong, recognizing the voice, turned toward the door. A large hand pressed her head back down.

“What are you looking at?”

“Looking at you.” She smiled, eyes curved, melting into his arms like she had no bones.

Zhou Li’s expression softened slightly. “Don’t lean on me.”

“I want it.” She clung to him, her soft body winding around him like a vine, her small, restless hands brushing against his collar again. “Your clothes are so tight—I can’t get them open. Can you undo them yourself?”

Zhou Li said, “…No.”

If she were this dedicated to practicing her sword, the charm spell would have her training all night. But what she wanted to do was never anything proper.

He didn’t want to be this close to her. He reached for her brow again to break the spell, but she kept moving, so he simply tightened his grip around her waist.

Lu Rong pressed against him, letting out a soft hum as if she’d bumped into something.

Seeing her flushed face, Zhou Li said coldly, “Don’t move. Tilt your head back.”

Lu Rong lifted her head. His fingertips touched her brow. She blinked, her long lashes trembling. “Zhou Li.”

“Say it. And stop acting spoiled,” he said, still expressionless.

“Your mouth kisses really well.” She looked up at him eagerly.

Zhou Li: “???”

What was she trying to do?

“Can I give you a kiss?” She rose on tiptoe to kiss him, but Zhou Li blocked her lips. Perhaps he was too shocked, because he didn’t react in time; her hand had already tugged his collar open.

A cool palm brushed against the scar on his chest, and Zhou Li trembled, heat rippling sharply through his body.

It felt as if his most sensitive nerve had been touched, rubbed by her.

His expression shifted. He suddenly grabbed her hand and flung her onto the bed. “Bing Lie, restrain her!”

Bing Lie immediately transformed into a long, slender rope and bound Lu Rong. She struggled, but Zhou Li no longer paid her any attention.

His palm pressed against his burning chest, and the ugly scar seemed to awaken under her touch.

Flesh was rebuilding; bright blood dripped down as the rotting scar began to regenerate.

Zhou Li reached out to stop it, but discovered it was already beyond control.

He had once had a reverse-scale birthmark on his chest, the mark of a demon. When he was young, someone had forcibly gouged it out, leaving behind only this ugly scar.

“Master, be careful. You’re losing control,” Bing Lie warned, automatically forming a barrier.

Zhou Li watched black scales begin to sprout from the bloody, mangled flesh on his chest.

He frowned sharply and lifted his gaze, meeting Lu Rong’s eyes across the bed.

Why was she making the scales grow back?

“Zhou Li, you’re bleeding,” Lu Rong said anxiously.

Zhou Li was out of patience. He pulled his collar together and sent a stream of spiritual energy directly into Lu Rong’s brow from a distance.

Lu Rong immediately fell unconscious. He sat as far from the bed as possible, suppressing the chaotic spiritual energy raging within his body.

A long tail emerged uncontrollably, and Zhou Li reinforced the barrier again, making sure not a trace of his aura leaked out.

“Master, you’ve also been affected by the charm spell,” Bing Lie reminded him again, and Zhou Li realized it.

Lu Rong had been too close to him just now.

Zhou Li pressed his brow, forcibly suppressing the restlessness rising inside him. He didn’t understand why he had fallen under the charm spell when he clearly had nothing he was obsessed with.

He steadied himself, his expression completely composed.

But the snake tail beneath his robes was already out of control. It slid onto the bed, the cool tip cautiously touching her fingertips.

Then it gently climbed along her fingertips, and as if it had found a pleasing spot, it wrapped itself around Lu Rong’s wrist.

The pitch-black tail coiled over her pale skin, its hard, cold scales brushing her delicate flesh and leaving ring after ring of red marks behind.

The slender snake tail, still unsatisfied, followed her wide sleeve and continued extending inward.
