Chapter 42: Getting Worse and Worse

***

This dandelion should have just floated over not too long ago. In the memories it retained, Sissa had just finished killing the front line and was moving toward the back line.

The “seniors” that Sylithea mentioned referred to those elven mages who chanted spells during battle, awakening various plants in the forest to attack the little girl.

If the arrow rain from the archers had the actual effect of scratching an itch, then the effect caused by the mage corps only made Sissa feel somewhat annoyed, and this annoyance was enough to make her go on a killing spree.

“So much blood flowing on the ground, no one could stop her. The seniors fell one by one, and those she targeted could hardly survive for even a second.”

Sylithea let go of her hand, breaking free from the visual information while tears streamed down her face as she described the scene to the others.

Trika gasped.

“The situation is really that terrible.” She looked at the pink-haired big-breasted human girl. “Could everything you said before actually be true?”

Aira rolled her eyes: “Why would I lie to you?”

If they weren’t part of the deal with Isadora, she couldn’t even be bothered to care.

Communicating with plants wasn’t as simple as conversation, it also involved sharing vision and emotions. The shock Sylithea received from it was too great, and her tears wouldn’t stop flowing.

Seeing her like this, Aira felt too embarrassed to keep rushing her.

Trika patted her back: “It’s okay now, take a rest.”

But Sylithea forcefully wiped her eyes and reached for the next item:

“I must complete the mission!”

She understood that the more danger approached, the stronger she had to be.

The next target was flowers. Zero had picked more than 10 of them, but unfortunately there was no harvest.

Less than an hour had passed since the battle began at the sealed area, the probability of insects having been there to collect nectar and then coming here was too small.

So Sylithea reached for the last thing — mushrooms.

“I saw her, she looked so terrifying. Strong warriors had no power to fight back against her, and Dragon Eagle riders were directly knocked down.”

As a symbiotically integrated fungus, the mushrooms carried relatively complete memories. The initial appearance of Sissa bursting from the ground and the scenes of her easily slaughtering elite warriors appeared one by one before the elven loli’s eyes.

“She wanted to find someone. She would kill while casually grabbing someone, clutching their throat to interrogate them.”

Trika quickly seized the opportunity to ask: “Find who?”

“I don’t know. Someone with the original name Sally, a 1,333-year-old old lady.”

“Sally? I haven’t heard this name before. As for an elf of this age.”

Trika thought carefully. With normal thinking, when considering those who met the conditions, she naturally started with people she knew around her: “I don’t know the exact number, but someone around this age that I remember is I…”

Smack!

Aira slapped her shoulder, making her grimace in pain and unable to finish what she was saying.

“What are you doing?”

The only response she got were three words—

“Don’t say it.”

“…”

Trika wasn’t stupid. She understood something from the girl’s attitude and kept silent with embarrassment.

At this moment, Sylithea cried out in alarm: “Elder Trinia! She… she caught Elder Trinia!”

Aira’s heart sank.

As the supreme commander on the battlefield, being captured by the enemy meant the defense line had been pierced. Even if it wasn’t total annihilation, it was at least a rout.

“She grabbed Elder Trinia’s throat with one hand, forcing her to tell where that person was. Elder Trinia said, said…”

……

“Don’t expect to get a single word from me!” Trinia shouted angrily. “How could the elven race produce such a disaster like you!”

Strange blackness crept up her body, her facial wrinkles distorted from pain, but her mouth still contained only curses:

“Even if we haven’t suppressed you, 3 days from now will still be your death! Wait for death, you beast!”

Crack— her neck snapped like rotten wood.

With this, the supreme battlefield commander was killed, and the suppression operation carried out by 3,000 elven elites was completely defeated.

“Looks like she’s hiding. 3 days, does she think I can’t find her?”

Sissa lifted her not-very-long little legs, walking over the ground covered with severed limbs and broken arms. The besieging soldiers had completely collapsed, Dragon Eagles only dared to look from the distant sky, and hundreds of infantry corpses lay unburied.

……

“Waaah, Elder Trinia, waaah.”

Sylithea couldn’t hold back anymore. After dropping the mushroom, she lay on the ground and cried for quite a while.

No one comforted her. When emotions ran high, everyone felt a bit uncomfortable. Although they couldn’t see the images, they could tell from her description that the stern elder had died.

Taking this opportunity, Aira simply shared some of her own intelligence.

“The story starts from 1,200 years ago. There’s this story… That’s how it is. In other words, as long as Sissa can’t find her old friend within 3 days and kill her to complete the ritual, the crisis can be resolved.”

Zero, who was standing nearby, got up and opened her mouth, hesitating to speak.

Aira coughed lightly: “I know what you want to say, but I estimate that who does the killing doesn’t matter, as long as the person dies, because the Evil God will take the soul away. We saw that scene in Harbor City.”

“Oh.”

Zero quietly sat back down, also retracting the killing intent from her body.

The child seemed a bit too extreme…

If they could just endure for 3 days, they could achieve victory. But with that person’s terrifying power, could they really endure?

“Waaah, Elder, waaah.”

The sobbing started again. They were not only sad for the deceased Elder Trinia but also worried for Elder Isadora, who was being hunted as prey.

“Stop crying, child. Life and death are destined. Death is just changing to another form to continue walking in this world.” A male voice came. “Don’t continue being sad.”

It was Lambert returning. He was carrying a large basket in each hand, both filled with fresh ingredients, preparing to make lunch for the children. He hadn’t expected to come over and hear everyone crying here.

Although he didn’t know what had happened, he still came over to comfort them.

“What do you know? It’s not like that at all!”

“Uh… so what happened?”

No one answered. Trika thought of her recent experience, gritted her teeth, and decided to be someone who kept secrets.

The others looked at each other, and finally all looked at the pink-haired big-breasted beautiful girl who was the most popular and prestigious, as well as the final decision-maker.

Under everyone’s gaze, Aira hesitated for a long time before speaking:

“Let’s eat first.”

That’s what she said, but after eating, she immediately found Trika and the others to ask them about some matters concerning the elven race, such as how many people were around 1,300 years old?

“Not very many.” Trika spoke cautiously. “Probably less than… one-thousandth of the entire race?”

This was even being generous with the estimate.

Aira’s heart sank: “The elven race has tens of thousands of people in total. One-thousandth would be dozens. Even using the exhaustive method, she could quickly lock onto targets.”

And indeed, that was exactly the case.
