Chapter 30: Bloodslaughter Lord

***

The elven cavalry that suddenly barged into the battlefield left Aira stunned for a moment.

The main issue wasn’t just that they barged in, but that there was also someone within the cavalry who seemed out of place, an elderly man past his seventies who looked like he had wandered into the wrong location.

“The elven race knows the location of the Bloodslaughter Lord,” Zero said quietly from behind. “They also want to attempt a decapitation strike.”

Aira nodded, thinking it over. Setting aside that old man for now, these elves dared to assault the main camp with less than a hundred riders, they must be super elites, one in ten thousand picked from the forest.

Not only did she think this way, but the Blood Demon race guards at the camp’s perimeter thought the same. Seeing them charge with such momentum, they instinctively stepped aside.

Thus, the small group of dozens of riders drove straight through, maintaining their imposing momentum all the way.

“Kill!”

“We are children of the forest, protect the forest!”

“Death to the bandit chief!”

The elven cavalry shouted slogans while charging into battle, until several strong and robust Blood Demon race warriors rushed out from the central command camp and threw hard punches at them.

Bang—!

There were no fancy riding techniques for dodging and weaving, only riders and horses tumbling through the air.

The Blood Demon race warriors were also sent flying, crashing to the ground covered in blood and gore. But that wasn’t important, they had been suffering poor casualty ratios since the war began, so they were used to it.

What they weren’t used to was that the elven cavalry didn’t seem as powerful as they appeared.

So how did they dare attempt a decapitation strike?

Aira, who was secretly observing from behind, was also puzzled. These elves didn’t seem any stronger than other elves on the battlefield.

The elves knocked off their Whistle Deer weren’t injured, but having lost their mounts, more Blood Demon warriors surged forward and surrounded them completely.

Although their casualty exchange rate was still decent, at least managing to achieve a 1-for-2 ratio, the numerical disparity was simply too great. As the elven cavalry fell one by one, the scales of war gradually tipped.

“Looks like they’re destined to fail,” Aira sighed lightly. “They didn’t even force the Bloodslaughter Lord to come out.”

Just as she finished speaking, a thunderous roar echoed from the camp ahead—

“Stand aside, let me handle this!”

A figure over 2 meters tall leaped up and landed heavily on the ground. It was fortunate the forest soil was soft, otherwise this impact would have made the ground shake.

His appearance showed no obvious difference from ordinary people, except he looked exceptionally strong. Sparse hair floated up like lint on clothing, and faint red steam emanated from his entire body.

The leader of the Blood Demon race, the Bloodslaughter Lord, seeing his subordinate warriors fighting so passionately, couldn’t help but… get fired up.

Literally, this was how the Blood Demon race was. The leader, possessing the purest bloodline, would get hot-blooded whenever he saw others fighting enthusiastically. When his blood heated up, his whole body would itch, and unless he went up to slaughter properly, it would feel like ants crawling all over his body.

“Haha, coming to my doorstep to die, this is my first time seeing this!”

These past few days he had suffered endless frustration in the war. The elven race utilized the vast territory of the great forest, trading space for casualties, immediately retreating once they struck.

And the Blood Demon race? They lacked the ability to develop this forest. Setting up camps was already their limit, so although they charged fiercely, they had plunged headfirst into the strategic depth of the great forest.

For a moment, the Bloodslaughter Lord would recall the words of the former Demon King Io, but the path of glory allowed no regrets.

Wielding a great sword, he charged forward, first pulling aside the Blood Demon race soldiers surrounding the area, then swung his great sword down from above.

Crack!

The sound of weapons and bodies being cleaved together.

“Hahahaha!” The Bloodslaughter Lord roared skyward. “Refreshing!”

The frustration of many days was violently vented.

Aira patted behind her: “There’s an opportunity. When he gets bloodthirsty later and isn’t paying attention, we’ll suddenly strike and definitely be able to… Zero?”

She patted empty air, no one was there. Zero had already quietly slipped away.

She said to strike suddenly, and that was certainly sudden, but this was too sudden, even she couldn’t keep up!

The Bloodslaughter Lord really did get bloodthirsty, his hot blood boiling more and more, the red steam around his body growing as thick as a ring of paint.

“Frail flesh!”

After a round of siege, there weren’t many elven cavalry left to begin with. As the Bloodslaughter Lord killed and killed, only one old man remained in front of him.

He paused, just like Aira had initially, not understanding what someone of such advanced age was doing here.

“For the forest!”

The old man shouted and proactively raised his walking stick to strike.

Bang!

The walking stick broke, the old man flew backward, crashed to the ground and spat out a mouthful of blood.

The Bloodslaughter Lord looked at his sword in bewilderment, he hadn’t even used force just now.

“Since you’re eager to die, I’ll fulfill your wish.”

Saying this, he stepped forward a few paces and raised his great sword — a gust of wind blew from behind, and he felt a needle-like chill at his neck.

Who is it?!

His entire body’s blood ignited, speed boosted to the maximum. His thick neck relied purely on instinct to dodge backward, and death’s kiss only left a shallow wound on his skin and flesh.

But in the next second, he felt several stabs of pain in his abdomen, very light at first, like being bitten by something.

An assassin who had somehow gotten close was actually attacking multiple times simultaneously?!

“Ahhhhhhh!!”

Sensing a life threat, the Bloodslaughter Lord held nothing back. All the blood energy in his body erupted, forming a mass of high-temperature blood mist around his body.

【Blood Demon’s Fury】

Using his special technique to force back the unknown assassin, he immediately ran back while calling to other soldiers:

“Retreat! The elven race has more tricks!”

Although the Bloodslaughter Lord was somewhat reckless, he was at least battle-hardened. In an instant, he understood why this strangely weak force dared to make a surprise attack — bait, it must be bait, to cover for the assassin and the large force behind them!

The Central Great Forest was thick with branches and leaves. No one knew how many invisible elven rangers were hidden in the bushes. The Blood Demon race had suffered greatly in this regard over the past few days.

The soldiers hurriedly contracted their formation. Elite warriors stepped forward to protect the Bloodslaughter Lord. They abandoned the central command camp and retreated to the camps further back. After a period of chaos, the area in front of the camp quieted down, with only over 100 corpses lying on the ground.

About half were elven cavalry and Whistle Deer; the rest were all Blood Demon race soldiers.

The assassin girl emerged from the shadows and returned to the pink-haired big-breasted girl’s side.

“Sorry Aira, I didn’t kill him, but he’s severely wounded and can’t escape.”

“It’s fine, completely fine. Thank goodness you didn’t kill him.”

Aira had prepared some words to say to the Bloodslaughter Lord. Fortunately, he was left half-alive, or else letting him die in confusion would have left her feeling unsatisfied too.

No rush. First, let’s check on the wounded on the ground.

Actually, it was hard to call anyone here wounded, because basically everyone was already dead. The only one still breathing was that old man who seemed to have wandered onto the battlefield by mistake.

Aira walked over for a closer look and felt he looked somewhat familiar.

“Elder Laiteni?”

The old man was down to his last few breaths. In his dying moments, hearing such a voice, he opened his eyes as if having a final surge of energy:

“It’s you! Isadora said you once prevented an Evil God’s descent!”
