Miss Demon King, Please Endure a Little Longer - Volume 3 Chapter 11
Chapter 11: How Are Humans So Wicked
***
Vina couldn’t hold back and burst out laughing with a “pfft.”
“Little Ai, you’re so wicked. Someone’s speaking up for us and you’re still scheming against them.”
Aira pouted her little lips: “Not necessarily. They’re just saying whatever they want to say, not necessarily trying to help anyone.”
Like the one who just stepped forward to apologize, calling it an apology, but her expression was still arrogant.
This little episode didn’t cause much of a stir. When Lord Tydin’s matter was brought up, it was the royal family and the prince’s faction officials who felt embarrassed; everyone else didn’t really care.
Princess Grell smiled and continued reading from her script, introducing each of the girls’ identities one by one.
The elven delegation also began discussing in low voices.
“That blue-haired one obtained the title of Sword Saint of the human race at 15, with very high achievements in swordsmanship.”
“Wow, that early? When I was 15, I was still…”
“You can’t calculate it that way, humans only have a mere century of lifespan.”
“The red-haired one is supposedly a magic prodigy.”
“Human magic is crude and barbaric. So what if she’s a genius?”
“What about the black-haired one? What’s she good at?”
“Seems like reconnaissance and scouting.”
“Ridiculous. Human territory is mostly plains, how can they compare to us elves in ranger skills?”
No matter how Princess Grell complimented them, the elven delegation could always find fault. And after introducing the first three, when it came to the last person, even the kingdom’s own side ran out of words.
“The, the young lady Aira from an unknown small village, who rose from humble beginnings with lofty aspirations, is an indispensable member of this team!”
The civil official had tried his best, but this was all they could write.
They couldn’t very well write that Miss Aira excelled in invincible necromancy magic with her ultimate skill “Undead Calamity,” summoning bones and undead to strike fear into enemies, they didn’t even know about it.
The elven delegation frowned as they listened.
“How did she get mixed up in this?”
“Maybe because of her big chest, and she’s pretty.”
“I heard the human kingdom has a term called ‘human relationships and social customs.'”
Despite the minor hiccup, they managed to get through the main proceedings, with Princess Grell and others smiling and applauding together.
Afterwards was a grand banquet, with the four girls arranged at the main dining table, people coming over to toast them from time to time.
The elven delegation sat at the neighboring VIP table, accompanied by members of the royal family and several high officials.
“I feel like we’re supporting characters today.” Vina tugged on Aira’s sleeve. “Didn’t Teacher Roars say today belonged to us?”
“In theory, yes. In theory, the future belongs to us too.” Aira poked her fork into a bit of steak. “But in reality, there are always many unexpected situations.”
Why worry about all that? Wasn’t it nice just enjoying the state banquet? Munch munch munch.
In fact, only she and Zero could eat properly, because people kept coming over, either military connections coming to chat with Celeste for a few words, or people from the Magic Court running over saying little Vina had finally done something proper, and the teachers and elders were so moved they were crying tears of joy.
After the meal was free time. Most of the guests who had attended the ceremony left one after another, with not many remaining.
Theoretically, the girls could leave too, but Vina held everyone back: “It’s rare that we came all this way. What a waste it would be to leave like this. I saw them taking the elven delegation to the garden area, let’s go join in the fun too.”
Aira reasonably suspected that the main reason she didn’t want to leave was because the Magic Court was waiting at the entrance.
The mischievous little witch from home had actually accomplished so many great deeds, and all good ones at that. The old men were beyond delighted, unable to hold back tears of joy even during the banquet. You could imagine how much they’d have to say in private.
But this reason was quite reasonable, and no one else refused.
The garden was divided into inner and outer sections. The larger Royal Garden was actually the outer part, with a smaller garden inside that grew only precious flowers. As they got a bit closer, they could hear voices talking.
Princess Grell and her husband were touring the garden with two male elves, while a minister was sharing kingdom affairs with two female elves, describing the kingdom’s development and changes over the past century.
As for the elven loli who had spoken so boldly, Macken had taken her… well, taken her to another area.
“Miss Sylithea, I know your delegation chose all the outstanding young talents of the elven race, and you’re the youngest, so you must be the most gifted one.”
He even knew her name, seemed like they were getting along well.
“Of course… but why are you suddenly saying this? Are you asking me for something?”
Oh, she actually had some brains.
“Naturally, our side has requests of the great elven race, this is public knowledge.” Macken said with elegant bearing. “We very much admire many things about your people, especially the Whistle Deer and Dragon Eagles, coming and going like the wind. We hope to introduce some, so that we mortals can also experience the blessings of the Forest Goddess.”
Upon hearing this, the elven loli’s nose was practically pointing to the sky: “We elves do have many good things, but you’ll have to discuss that with the elders.”
“How shameful. Compared to the elven race, everything we humans possess falls a bit short. What could we possibly exchange for your people’s treasures? I truly lack confidence.”
“That’s right. Before departing, I heard an elder say that if it weren’t for needing your help with the Sacred Spring seal, they couldn’t be bothered to accept the invitation, after all, we have everything we need.”
A glint flashed in Macken’s eyes: “Sacred Spring seal?”
Aira slapped her thigh and thought “Oh no!” the little fool she’d planned to use for gathering information had been intercepted! She wasn’t the only one who could see the girl was foolish.
Celeste turned to look at her, wanting to ask why she was slapping her thigh, but ultimately said nothing.
Because they were eavesdropping, talking would get them discovered.
At this point, the elven loli finally realized she’d accidentally let something slip and clammed up, refusing to say more.
Ah, how are humans so wicked.
Going further in would get them discovered, so the girls’ stalking adventure ended there. Vina calculated the time and felt the old men had probably all gone back, so she pulled everyone toward the exit.
“How boring. I thought after she said those things earlier, there’d be a fight, but the princess just endured it.” The little witch shook her head boredly. “Might as well go back to camp and watch the drama unfold.”
Celeste was puzzled: “Camp? Campfire Lodge? What drama is there at our lodgings?”
Zero said nothing, as if she hadn’t heard anything.
Aira… how could Lala dare to speak?
Leaving the royal palace and walking out the main gate, there indeed weren’t any old men from the Magic Court outside.
But there was a very beautiful blonde girl with large breasts.
“I heard the medal ceremony ended,” Lia smiled elegantly. “I came to pick you up.”
“You’re too kind! Miss Lia.” Vina stepped forward to express her gratitude. “So thoughtful!”
Celeste expressed her thanks as well.
Zero just nodded, her eyes seeming to hold some different emotion, but no one noticed.
Walking together toward the camp for a while, the two big-breasted girls fell back a little, and Lia took the opportunity to reach out and gently pinch the pink-haired big-breasted girl’s waist:
“I heard that the several elven girls who came this time are all blonde. Is that true?”
Feeling the pressure on her waist, Aira felt an inexplicable sense of salvation well up in her heart.
She knew something was missing today, now it felt right.
“How could they compare to you? Their hair color is just ordinary, without soul. You’re the truly brilliant golden color, warm and bright like sunlight. I love it the most.”
