Miss Demon King, Please Endure a Little Longer - Volume 2 Chapter 11
Chapter 11: The Demon King’s Grand Plan
***
The atmosphere at the scene became somewhat strange.
Just moments ago, thinking it was an enemy attack, many demon soldiers had rushed out, but now they were all controlled by necromancy magic.
They had been eagerly expecting their commander to help everyone vent their frustrations, but unexpectedly, that overwhelmingly beautiful big-breasted girl pulled out a sword and shouted what sounded like a pet name at him, and their commander dropped to his knees with a thud.
A demon man over 2 meters tall, such a huge mass, just dropped to his knees with a thud.
When he opened his mouth with tears streaming down his face and trembling lips, these demon soldiers all thought he was about to cry out the word “mama.”
Thankfully, he didn’t.
A few minutes later, the bone hands retreated underground, and the demon soldiers regained their freedom. Meanwhile, Rhinoceros-Horn General Rockbreaker and the mysterious girl went into the camp, top secret, no one was allowed to approach.
“Demon King, they’re spreading rumors everywhere that you’re dead, but I don’t believe it. Third Brother and the others don’t believe it either. We believed this day would come!”
The man over 2 meters tall had just wiped away his tears, his eyes still red.
Aira was also deeply moved.
After the second tavern uprising back then, she had personally promoted Rockbreaker. This person was brave and loyal, with natural divine strength. It was said that when he was born, he headbutted and broke a stone on the ground, which is how he got his name.
Iron Bull was the nickname Aira gave him, affectionate and memorable.
“Demon King…”
“I’m called Aira now. For certain reasons, don’t let it slip.”
“Yes, yes, Lady Aira.” Rockbreaker corrected himself and asked nervously, “What exactly happened back then?”
Aira thought for a moment and said slowly: “3 months ago, I encountered an ambush by the human Hero Party. They launched a surprise attack when I was alone. I went along with their plan, using secret magic to transform my body into that of a human girl, and infiltrated their ranks. Now, I’ve made contact with several major political forces in the human kingdom and have considerable influence. I’m currently laying the groundwork. You understand, right?”
Rockbreaker had an epiphany: “So you deliberately lost the battle 3 months ago?”
“…You could say that.”
After all, there was no clear victor anyway.
Having explained her situation, Aira asked about the demon clan’s circumstances.
Now it was Rockbreaker’s turn to look melancholy: “After you disappeared, those tribal leaders have been loudly proclaiming news of your death, their wolfish ambitions clear to all. Some are searching everywhere for bloodlines of the former royal family, trying to legitimize themselves, while others have simply declared themselves kings.”
She knew about the latter, she had just cut down one of them two months ago.
“However, no matter who it is, none have your abilities, so no victor has emerged even now. Lady Aira, when can you return? Without you, the demon clan cannot unite.”
Rockbreaker spoke from the heart, and it was objectively true. Decades ago, there were internal wars throughout demon territories, and the previous Demon King couldn’t suppress anyone.
“No rush.” Aira picked up the teacup on the table. “This is the perfect opportunity to draw out and eliminate the internal parasites.”
She took a light sip and then spat it out.
“Cough, cough, cough, why is this alcohol!”
Rockbreaker scratched his head, not knowing how to answer this question. In this rough outdoor military camp, everyone naturally drank alcohol, they couldn’t be expected to sip tea like city folk.
He thought for a moment and said: “Lady Aira, I remember your alcohol tolerance used to be…”
“The past was the past, now is now. My image over there is that of a virtuous good girl, I can’t have the smell of alcohol on me.”
Rockbreaker nodded. He suddenly had a question but didn’t know if it was appropriate to ask.
Aira saw right through him: “Say whatever you want to say.”
“Yes, well… Lady Aira, this body of yours now, is it human or demon?”
“That’s not important.”
The beautiful pink-haired big-breasted girl put down her cup and said elegantly:
“In the human kingdom, I’m human. In demon territories, I’m the Demon King.”
Rockbreaker’s bull-like eyes showed admiration.
This was exactly right. Ever since the tavern speech began, the Demon King would always come out with these half-understood yet seemingly philosophical statements, which is why she had so many loyal followers.
“Let’s not talk about this anymore. I have a plan. The kingdom is preparing to reestablish diplomatic relations with the merfolk in Harbor City, and they’ve essentially given me full responsibility for this task.”
Aira opened with this statement, then sneered: “But they absolutely can’t imagine that those merfolk bastards won’t be reasonable. The diplomatic plan will definitely fail.”
Hearing about this matter, Rockbreaker’s face darkened, and he nodded forcefully: “Those bastards.”
Back when Aira became Demon King, she had implemented sweeping reforms and put forward the far-reaching theory of “racial identity” — that all mutants, magical creatures, and dark beings in the world were part of the great demon family.
The merfolk looked neither human nor demon, and spent all their time in pitch-black seawater where you couldn’t see your hand in front of your face. They had to be associated with mutation and darkness somehow, so she had sent people to contact them.
The merfolk had been very agreeable too, accepting all conditions and receiving all the gifts sent to them. But on the day of the signing ceremony, the entire diplomatic delegation simply turned around, jumped into the sea, and was never found again.
Aira couldn’t possibly send an army to hunt them down in the ocean, so she could only swallow this bitter pill. But this time, she finally had a chance for revenge.
“According to my calculations, the kingdom’s envoy group will inevitably clash with them in Harbor City, and I’ve already found an excuse to start the war. I just need to let things brew for a while longer. When the time is right, I’ll give you a signal, and you’ll charge down from the mountains, drive away those treacherous creatures, and Harbor City will be in our grasp.”
She had planned this long ago. Once the diplomatic attempt failed and this battle was fought, the merfolk would be driven back to the sea, and the kingdom would have to abandon development. At that point, Harbor City would become her actual territory.
As for how to explain things to Celeste and the others, Aira was confident she had that figured out too.
Rockbreaker was extremely excited: “Excellent! The brothers have long wanted to live the city life, life up in these mountains is really too rough. As expected of you, easily laying out such an elaborate plan!”
This was the Demon King he knew, always holding all the cards, with various schemes at her fingertips.
As for whether they could defeat the merfolk, there was no need to consider that. They were just a bunch of shrimp soldiers and crab generals, stinking fish and rotten shrimp, how could they possibly lose?
Unless their god actually came out to help.
“Even if their god comes out, I’m not afraid.” Aira snorted coldly. “That Saintess of the human kingdom, someone like the beloved daughter of the Goddess of Light herself, is now under my control. Rounding up, the divine power of the human race is already at my disposal!”
“As expected of you!” Rockbreaker was full of admiration.
“Alright, enough idle talk. I still need to go back later. When the time is right, I’ll signal you with this.” Aira raised her bone sword. “You know what sound it makes.”
Rockbreaker nodded vigorously: “Understood!”
The wailing of the undead, that was the Demon King’s command.
After explaining everything, Aira left the camp and returned along the path of Vina’s magic anchor points.
