"And there you have it, folks! Another chapter conquered...or at least, not completely butchered. Please forgive any egregious errors; I blame the coffee (or lack thereof).

Yan Xianchuan put down her chopsticks. She had no urge to learn anything about the woman named Inola, whose name was attached to the message.

She glanced at her identity information, and sure enough, it had changed to married.

How could someone be so disliked by their family that they were kicked out, even to the point where they had no autonomy over their own life?

That was fine, she had no right to judge other people’s lives, but now it was Yan Xianchuan herself who had to deal with this mess.

She was now caught in a dilemma. If she took the initiative and solved the problem, it meant that she would have to use all the advantages she could use, get rid of the label of being a waste, gain enough power, and raise her status.

Yan Xianchuan had no foundation in this world, everything had to start from scratch, from nothing to something, facing countless difficulties, tedious interpersonal relationships, and possibly a lot of violent conflicts.

After all, once she did this, she would inevitably have to touch the cake that others had already divided.

Or, she could do nothing, let things take their course, and go with the flow. Anyway, no one in the family cared about her, and no one would supervise whether she was a qualified spouse, whether she had a perfect married life.

Presumably, this marriage partner would not be too happy about this marriage either, they could completely ignore each other, as for the future, they could talk about it later.

Thinking about the trouble of the former and the ease of the latter, Yan Xianchuan fell back on the bed, she just wanted to slack off now. Her limited energy and interest couldn’t support her in doing such a big thing.

Actually, doing nothing was pretty good, she saw on the internet yesterday that the most famous thing in this city was its food culture, wasn’t it good to enjoy life, there was so much to eat and play, why bother finding work for herself.

Evergreen City was a beautiful city, it was a twin city with the neighboring Winter City, and it was also the two cities with the highest green coverage in the entire alliance.

If you looked down from the sky, the two cities were located on either side of Sunset Lake, three cross-river bridges connected them together, like a balance scale.

After Yan Xianchuan woke up from her nap, she opened the window and could see the constant flow of vehicles, the never-ending advertising projections, and the always busy medical team.

She could see clearly, the red and white airship of the medical team brushed past the advertising balloon in mid-air, tearing through its yellow skin, causing the red banner several floors high hanging below to fall to the ground like a broken kite, causing a commotion.

This behavior was more unreasonable than a hooligan.

Yan Xianchuan stood there for a while, wind blowing, reason and emotion argued in her mind again.

One said, you should go out and experience the charm of a new life.

One said, so tired, so troublesome, it’s more comfortable to lie in bed and browse the Tianwang.

Yesterday, reason prevailed, Yan Xianchuan had a very unpleasant experience, which made her very hesitant.

Go, the voice in her head said, you can’t stay in bed for the rest of your life, don’t you want to eat grapes and roast chicken?

That makes sense, this is the signature dish of Evergreen City, it’s not just amazing to eat, it will definitely wipe away her unpleasant experience last night.

Going out only takes two steps, the first step, take a step, the second step, open the door.

The elevator door silently slid open, Yan Xianchuan walked in, the door closed, the small TV on the side wall was playing the news.

“The airship attack incident that happened in Glass Mountain recently, with the efforts of the Search Department, the culprit has finally been found. The one who initiated the attack was Mechanical Purity. This notorious terrorist organization has committed several major crimes recently, the head of the Search Department said that they will spare no effort to destroy it and protect the safety of the people.”

“Dan You Media will be collaborating with Director Berg…”

“Arclight Technology Company announced that they will be holding a new product launch conference next month. It is rumored to be a product of great significance…”

Yan Xianchuan stepped out of the elevator, walked through the corridor, took out her sunglasses from her pocket and put them on, before walking into the sunlight.

The shop was not too far from the apartment building, and she was not in a hurry, so she could walk there.

As a person who was not in a hurry, her state was completely different from the other pedestrians on the street. She was very leisurely, looking around, stopping from time to time to listen to gossip, buy some snacks, and even squatted down to watch a stray cat lick its fur for a while.

Yan Xianchuan fed the sausage she was holding to the cat.

After she had been out for an afternoon, eating and drinking her fill, she was about to go home when she saw a woman wearing a hat and sunglasses standing at her door.

She was wearing a silver tight-fitting long dress, with flowing light, thin straps hanging on her shoulders, a pink pearl hanging between her collarbones.

Seeing Yan Xianchuan, she took off her glasses.

This face had both the exotic features of a high nose and deep eyes, and the soft and graceful bone structure, flawless, the whole person was as crystal clear as a piece of mutton fat jade.

If you gathered all the seawater in the world, took out the two deepest and clearest handfuls, they would be like her eyes.

“Hello, are you Miss Yan Xianchuan?”

She spoke, her voice like morning dew dripping into a spring, a plucked harp, a mixture of crispness and gentleness, like the nightingale’s last dying song, as long as she spoke, people would stop and look at her.

Yan Xianchuan thought the face looked familiar, as if she had seen it in the elevator advertisement.

Yan Xianchuan: “No, you’ve got the wrong person.”

The woman chuckled softly, her lips curved up, like a flower about to bloom.

“Miss Yan is so funny, I’m Lu Mingqiu, and I’m also your marriage partner,”

“Inola?” Yan Xianchuan was not moved by her beauty, she calmly asked back.

“Inola Bolovov is my real name.” Lu Mingqiu blinked slowly, her eyes showing a questioning look, “Miss Yan, won’t you invite me in for a seat?”

No one would want to impersonate this identity just to get close to someone like her who had no family status.

Yan Xianchuan looked at her quietly for a while, walked forward and pressed her hand against the door frame, the palm print recognition was successful, the door lock clicked open.

Lu Mingqiu followed her into the house, her eyes quickly and naturally scanned the entire living room.

The legal spouse sat down on the sofa with Yan Xianchuan, her eyes fixed on her the whole time.

These eyes, even when looking at a dog, were full of affection.

Yan Xianchuan had no intention of being gentle, she decided to take the initiative and said directly, “About this marriage, I think you wouldn’t be happy about it either. Since that’s the case, why don’t we make a pact…”

The other party listened quietly to her words, without any intention of interrupting. Yan Xianchuan continued, “First, we don’t interfere with each other. I have no intention of bothering you, I hope you feel the same way.”

“Second, we don’t interfere with each other.”

“Third…”

“Don’t interfere with each other, right?” Lu Mingqiu softly echoed her words, without changing her expression, becoming embarrassed, angry, or annoyed by her cold rejection.

She maintained a proper smile, making Yan Xianchuan seem like a unreasonable and domineering villain.

Yan Xianchuan had no expression, nor any apology, “I’m glad you understand what I mean.”

“This might be a bit troublesome for me.” Lu Mingqiu’s voice was soft, she said slowly, “My work is a bit special, I can’t avoid contact with the public.”

“The media will be very interested in my life, in order to maintain my image, I’m afraid there will be times when I need your cooperation.”

“After all, you are my legal partner.”

“But I know what you think, I won’t bother you too much, I’ll try not to affect your normal life.”

“Understandable.”

Yan Xianchuan had already prepared herself mentally for this, it was impossible to go from single to married and still live the same life as before.

She just wanted to make her attitude clear, regardless of whether she would get the cold shoulder as a result.

“Since that’s the case, I won’t bother you any further.” Lu Mingqiu stood up with a smile, her skirt shimmering, as if she had scooped up a handful of moonlight and poured it on it.

After adding contact information, this “uninvited guest” turned and left, while Yan Xianchuan sat on the sofa, not even bothering to get up to see her off.

According to her plan, after she said those words, the two of them no longer needed to maintain any superficial politeness.

They were just two pawns pushed out by their families, there was no need to act.

The door slammed shut, Yan Xianchuan withdrew her gaze and instructed D to turn on the ventilation.

Lu Mingqiu didn’t have the smell of pheromones on her, she must have used an inhibitor spray, but she also sprayed perfume, the scent was very faint, but it was still obvious to Yan Xianchuan’s nose.

Yan Xianchuan searched the internet for the name “Lu Mingqiu” and quickly got a long list of entries.

She clicked into the encyclopedia and was slightly surprised by the titles attached to the other party.

“The youngest actress in the entertainment industry”, “Controller of Dan You Media”, “Three-time winner of the Golden Pond Award for Best Actress”, “GR designated spokesperson”, “Most popular female movie star”, “Five consecutive years at the top of the most wanted omega list”, “The most influential female star in the Federation”, “Charity ambassador”…

She was actually a public figure, no wonder she saw her in the advertisement.

Even if she was a pawn, she had to be a weighty pawn. Even just looking at her fame, she wouldn’t be relegated to being assigned to her as a marriage partner.

So, there must be something she didn’t know about.

Yan Xianchuan’s curiosity reflexively popped up, her mind pondering several investigation plans, after thinking for a while, she suddenly froze, slumping back onto the sofa.

This wasn’t a dungeon, she didn’t have to rush to investigate the hidden truth. Anyway, she wouldn’t die, let it be.

Yan Xianchuan tilted her head, her gaze fell on the projected plant next to the balcony, she stared at its blue-green leaves for a while, and said slowly, “D, put another one, I want a red one.”

“I have already planned a scheme for you, please choose…”

Lu Mingqiu returned to Nanjin City in the middle of the night, Dan You Media Company was located here, she had her own property in the city center.

As soon as she returned home, Su Hong, her agent and personal assistant, came up to her and asked in a low voice, “How was it? Did it go smoothly?”

Lu Mingqiu, who was not at all gentle at this moment, had a calm expression, she said slowly, “It was different from what I thought.”

The scenes of the meeting flashed through her mind one by one, “Surprisingly self-assured, a little forceful, but nothing major.”

“Mental fluctuations are very weak, not a psionic.”

Su Hong helped her take off the jewelry she was wearing, she felt relieved, “That’s good.”

“If necessary, I will control her, I will not let her affect our plan.” Lu Mingqiu took off her earrings in front of the mirror, her eyes were as cold as a frozen sea.

“I put the slow-release medicine on the coffee table.” Su Hong said.

“Okay.” Lu Mingqiu said, “How’s the investigation of the Dongye family going, what exactly is that so-called new product?”

“No progress yet.” Su Hong said in a low voice.

Lu Mingqiu frowned, “Hurry up.” After thinking for a few seconds, she stood up, “I’m going to the branch, haven’t they brought the brain-computer over? Let’s interrogate him again.”
