"And there you have it, folks! Another chapter conquered...or at least, not completely butchered. Please forgive any egregious errors; I blame the coffee (or lack thereof).

Lu Mingqiu: I need to be serious, I can’t laugh.

This person was really too talkative, her mouth was too loose. She was still very fast with her attacks, and she seemed very focused on her mission. The guards were almost all knocked out as soon as they saw her, but even so, it didn’t stop her sharp eyes.

In just a short while, Lu Mingqiu had already figured out whether ten or so people were male or female, tall or short, and what color their eyes were.

Lu Mingqiu: Actually, I don’t really want to know.

Yan Xianchuan was like a chirping sparrow, chattering in her mind. If it had been before, she would have found it annoying.

She was a calm and composed person. She would never allow anyone to disturb her like that.

But now, not only did she not find it annoying, she even felt a hint of sweetness in her heart.

The research institute had ability users stationed there. It was only natural for such an important base to have ability users.

It was just unfortunate that this ability user probably had something to do with ice. Facing someone like Yan Xianchuan, who could break through everything with brute force, she didn’t even last a few seconds longer than the other ordinary guards. She was like a rabbit that had been pinned down by a falcon swooping down from the sky. She lost her life on the spot, her neck limply falling to one side.

The number of people who knew the address of this base wouldn’t exceed five fingers in the entire church. The researchers in the base didn’t know where they were. They would lose consciousness when they entered or left.

It was supposed to be a very safe place, and the guards weren’t excessively numerous.

Yan Xianchuan dealt with this ability user, and her path forward was unimpeded. She successfully shut down the backup power supply.

The entire underground instantly plunged into darkness, the kind where there was absolutely no light.

Yan Xianchuan had excellent senses, but she couldn’t create light out of thin air to see. But it didn’t matter. She remembered the path she had taken. She just had to go back the same way.

Her only task was this. She didn’t need to get involved in anything else.

Yan Xianchuan slowly walked back, casually dealing with a few people who were running over with flashlights to restart the power supply.

The entire attack was like a landslide. It was mainly because the information Saint Heart provided was so complete. As a founding member, he knew the church’s personnel arrangements and security measures well. It was as if someone had opened a back door for them. It was hard to lose.

The laboratory where the mutated potion was stored was sealed. Even the researchers rarely went in. It was basically in a state of storage. They would only take it out when needed.

The power was cut off, and the research data inside hadn’t been destroyed in time. It was all safely stored on the computer.

With this data, the antidote should be developed soon, right?

Not only was the operation here successful, but the other bases were also successful. There were some casualties, but not many.

Yan Xianchuan took a flashlight from her waist. The white beam swept across the front, illuminating a floor full of people lying down. Before there was light, she had been walking by kicking her legs, kicking quite a few unlucky people along the way.

There was no way she could step over them. It was mainly because the feeling under her feet wasn’t good. What if she slipped?

With the light, she was able to avoid the various obstacles on the ground. But without electricity, the elevator couldn’t operate. The best way for Yan Xianchuan was to go back the way she came. She would go up the same way she came down.

The ceiling wasn’t high for her. She could easily jump up. The edge of the hole was irregular and not smooth. The iron sheet was sharp, but it couldn’t cut through her hand.

As soon as Yan Xianchuan pulled herself up, she saw a familiar face. It wasn’t really familiar, it was just a teammate who had been assigned to this operation. She hadn’t met her before.

She had successfully skipped the part where they introduced themselves and reported their names. She didn’t remember this person’s name, “Hey, good morning!”

“Are you guys done with your operation?”

Although they couldn’t see the sky underground, it was clearly dark when they launched the attack. This person seemed to have a thousand words to say. Few people in the Resistance didn’t know the gossip about this couple. Even though they wanted to complain, they held back for Yellow Canary’s sake.

“Yellow Canary is organizing the data. She’s finishing up.” She moved aside and pointed to the end of the corridor, “She’s in there.”

“Thanks!” Yan Xianchuan said.

What did Yellow Canary like about this person? She is lost, but she didn’t even know she is lost.

Yan Xianchuan didn’t know what the other person was thinking, and she didn’t care about her gaze. She happily walked in the direction she pointed, eventually meeting up with Lu Mingqiu in the laboratory.

“Were the operations in other places successful?” she asked.

Although she didn’t care, her lover was very concerned about this attack. Of course, she had to pretend to care.

“Very successful,” Lu Mingqiu said. Her face was clearly relaxed, and a strange light danced in her eyes. She said softly, “I’ve been waiting for this day for so long.”

The progress bar on the computer was more than halfway done. “Without the church, with the current situation of the families, the Yan family is alone and can’t stand on its own. They’re no longer a threat.”

“That’s good news,” Yan Xianchuan said.

Lu Mingqiu smiled, put away the chip filled with data, and said lightly, “Let’s go. Although no one will come, we still need to send the spoils back as soon as possible.”

In the eyes of the Resistance, this was a great victory, a complete victory over their enemy. The light of victory was in sight. They should really celebrate.

But for Yan Wen, the head of the Yan family, who was woken up in the middle of the night by an urgent message, it wasn’t so friendly.

The Yan family valued etiquette and manners. No matter what happened, they had to remain calm and composed. They couldn’t lose their foundation and cultivation. But decades of effort had been in vain, wasted. Even the most patient saint couldn’t remain unfazed.

Yan Wen was furious. He almost vomited blood.

The church wasn’t just a normal, secret organization of the family. It was decades of hard work. It had been completely eliminated silently and without a trace. The meaning behind it was far more than it seemed.

They were able to eliminate all the bases so precisely, even some that only their own family knew about.

How did the intelligence leak? Who was the traitor in the Yan family? Or had the family been infiltrated?

Yan Wen was suspicious and uncertain. He suspected everyone, but he felt that it couldn’t be like that.

Losing the church was like losing two arms. The blow to the Yan family was too great. When had he ever suffered such a loss!

At this time, it was pointless to say that the attackers didn’t know the relationship between the church and the Yan family. It was too self-deceiving.

He couldn’t think of anyone else who had such great ability besides the one above. The church and the Resistance had been fighting for so long. He knew that the latter didn’t have such a big appetite.

Yan Wen drank a glass of cold tea. His eyes were deep, “Since that’s the case, how can I not return the favor?”

Since he had said that he would cooperate with the Minister of Information, he naturally wouldn’t be working for free. He had prepared some black material on the current president.

From a political standpoint, these things weren’t really black material. To eliminate political enemies and get rid of tycoons, using more drastic methods was understandable.

It was just that there were always some things that couldn’t be seen. If they were brought up, it would cause a public uproar.

This night was a sleepless night for Yan Wen.

It was also a sleepless night for Yan Xianchuan and her group, who were happily returning. It was just that the former was filled with resentment and anger, while the latter was full of joy and couldn’t sleep.

Robbery was indeed the fastest way to make money. The church’s bases had a lot of good things. They had looted everything. They were now being transported to the capital. The people escorting them were the president’s trusted subordinates.

The subsequent cleanup work didn’t need these people to do it. So, they decided to have some fun and have a party.

It didn’t matter that they weren’t in the same city. They could go back to their nearest base.

Such good news was perfect for everyone to celebrate.

They had taken down the church in one fell swoop. They should drink until they passed out tonight!

The largest space in the base was naturally the cafeteria. Everyone was very skilled. They pushed the tables and chairs to the side and stacked them up. They cleared the middle space. The radio was used to play music. The high-energy dance music was deafening. Even the lights changed color. It was a simplified version of a bar.

Some people had already started showing off their dance moves.

Lu Mingqiu naturally had to make an appearance at this gathering, have a few drinks with her companions, and celebrate.

Yan Xianchuan wasn’t interested in socializing, but she did like watching the fun. So, she took a bottle of wine and pulled over a chair to sit down and watch the “dance floor” where everyone was dancing wildly.

These people usually trained in combat. Not to mention anything else, their physical fitness was top-notch. Their flexibility was naturally good too. They danced well, with good strength. There was no one who was uncoordinated.

It was quite entertaining to watch it as a cultural performance.

But she hadn’t been watching for long when someone walked over. It wasn’t the one she had seen before. This one was much more familiar.

It was Silver Ring.

“What are your plans for the future?” His tone was strangely peaceful.

What plans?

Yan Xianchuan thought for a moment and replied seriously, “Listen to Yellow Canary.”

That wasn’t a bad plan, was it?

Silver Ring twitched the corner of his mouth, “That’s pretty good. I hope your relationship lasts.”

“Of course,” Yan Xianchuan said, frankly and straightforwardly.

She was completely a conversation ender.

Silver Ring didn’t get angry. He chatted with her for a while, waiting for Lu Mingqiu to come back.

“I want to quit the organization.”

Lu Mingqiu had just walked around and had a lot to drink, but her eyes were still clear. When she heard his words, she just paused for a moment and asked, “Have you thought it through? Why?”

“I joined Xinghuo to achieve my ideals. Now, I’ve actually achieved them,” Silver Ring said, “The rest of the work can go on smoothly, whether I’m there or not.”

“I want to take Jin Huan (Gold Ring) to the places he wants to go.”

Silver Ring smiled with relief, “I’ll spend the rest of my days burying Jin Huan. I’ll probably stay there.”

“Actually, I quite like photography.”

“Okay,” Lu Mingqiu said, “But leave after the celebration.”

“I will.” Silver Ring looked at the lively crowd in the center of the cafeteria. His smile was genuine.

Yan Xianchuan looked at him, then at Lu Mingqiu. After the celebration, she couldn’t help but whisper to her, “Is the Resistance going to disband?”

Lu Mingqiu first laughed, then thought about it seriously and replied, “Maybe. It’s not something I can decide.”

“But it probably won’t. After all, how can you ever finish fighting the tycoons? They’re like cockroaches. You kill one, and another one will pop up.”
