"And there you have it, folks! Another chapter conquered...or at least, not completely butchered. Please forgive any egregious errors; I blame the coffee (or lack thereof).

Yan Xianchuan and the others, to be very realistic, found Saint Heart’s temporary residence by following the scent—a seven-star hotel.

This man would never compromise his comfort. His food, clothing, housing, and transportation had to be of the highest standard he could afford.

The hotel had a wide view and a stunning landscape. The decoration was luxurious and stylish. After returning, Saint Heart felt relieved, thinking that he had found a way out. He even took a bath.

He had no idea that there was a car following him downstairs.

His double-crossing behavior was undoubtedly the best news they had received this year. On the way here, Lu Mingqiu had held an online meeting and learned about it.

Saint Heart wasn’t stupid. He wouldn’t believe everything the deputy minister said. He had to get General Cheng to show some interest before he would provide the rest of the information.

“We can find someone to impersonate him,” Lu Mingqiu said.

But the Minister of Finance waved his hand, “No need for that. General Cheng is also one of us.”

There was no need for an impersonator. The real deal would do.

Lu Mingqiu wasn’t surprised at all. Since she knew who the Resistance was working for, no matter who was a member of the organization, it wouldn’t surprise her. It was only natural.

She pondered for a moment and said, “To deal with the Yan family, we need to be quick, precise, and ruthless. It’s best to eliminate all their bases at the same time, catching them off guard.”

“That’s what I was thinking,” the Minister of Finance said, “There’s a Grand Assembly after the New Year. All the councilors from the second-level cities and above will come to the capital to attend. It’s a good opportunity. What do you think?”

“The operation will be under your command.”

Lu Mingqiu nodded.

Because they were still on the road, it wasn’t convenient to hold an online meeting. After confirming these matters, she disconnected the communication.

“Huang Que is a strange person,” another leader said.

“There are only individuals who betray class interests, not classes that betray class interests,” the Minister of Finance said calmly, “We’ll be busy from now on.”

The person who had spoken first suddenly remembered the other person’s identity and stopped talking. He agreed with a few words and then hung up the communication.

How could he forget that this Minister of Finance was also from a tycoon family?

His own family was his letter of introduction.

The Grand Assembly was an annual event. It was mainly to summarize the past year and make more detailed plans for the various small goals to be achieved in the new year, discussing how to implement various policies.

Yan Wen, as the mayor of Yuecheng, would definitely attend.

In the usual sense, officials in the capital were naturally two levels higher than those in the regions. But this didn’t apply to Yuecheng.

Yan Wen only held the title of mayor, but no one really treated him as a regular mayor. Yuecheng was like a country within a country in the Federation, and Yan Wen was the local emperor.

The council began not long ago, and the president issued a series of new policies and regulations, mainly for the major cities undergoing post-disaster reconstruction.

It was like enclosing territory, bringing them all under her control, and making sweeping changes. She completely eliminated many of the existing “customs” and “autonomous laws,” and carried out comprehensive and thorough reforms in areas such as taxation and education.

No one raised any objections. They all agreed.

In the past, when the president wanted to rectify the territory of these tycoons, there were some dissenting voices. Now, they had all disappeared.

Her term was coming to an end. Normally, the current leader shouldn’t be implementing such grand policies. After all, the successor might not follow her ideas. A smooth transition would be best.

But she didn’t care at all, showing that she was very confident in her re-election.

Yan Wen wouldn’t just sit there and wait. If she was re-elected, his family would be the one to be targeted.

He wasn’t the type to accept his fate.

Unlike Saint Heart, Yan Wen had his eyes on the Minister of Information.

Controlling the information network meant controlling the minds of the people and also holding the strings of the major councilors. The best way to win people over was to use both threats and inducements.

The Minister of Information didn’t have any military support. The Yan family would provide it to him, both as a form of cooperation and as a way to control him. The more dependent he was on the Yan family, the more he would rely on them and give them power.

If he supported the general, the Yan family could only offer some minor help, which wouldn’t guarantee their own safety and status.

The president was talking eloquently from the top seat.

Yan Wen’s expression was calm. His peripheral vision swept over the people sitting opposite him. He briefly met the Minister of Information’s gaze.

The election was imminent. The current president was just a grasshopper in autumn. Let her jump around for a while longer.

He was confident and not nervous at all.

But what Yan Wen didn’t know was that his old home, thousands of miles away, was about to be overturned, led by his own biological daughter.

With General Cheng’s personal guarantee, Saint Heart quickly spilled the beans about the church’s secrets. He was one of the original founders of the church. It was because of his prophecy that the Yan family had finally decided on this plan and implemented it step by step. Relying on his prophecy, they had avoided many crises, big and small.

His mind didn’t have the mental bomb that Saint Word had set. Facing such a partner, he still needed to show some respect.

This was the real reason why Saint Heart was able to slip into the capital and be so bold as to directly become a traitor.

The Grand Assembly would last for half a month.

All the teams were mobilized. In addition to the Resistance’s own members, there were also some additional reinforcements. Otherwise, with only a few hundred people, they would have a high casualty rate and a high chance of failure if they wanted to take down all the church’s bases in one go.

These reinforcements were naturally the president’s trusted subordinates.

This operation could only succeed, it couldn’t fail. They had to strike decisively and break the Yan family’s strongest leg.

Since receiving this information, Lu Mingqiu had been making plans and assigning personnel. Gray Rabbit and she worked together, often discussing from morning to night.

Yan Xianchuan: It’s my wife, clearly (eyes wide with longing).

She had to take on the responsibility of taking care of the little girl, Duo Duo. She didn’t mind at all. She even excitedly pulled out two controllers and played games with Duo Duo in the living room all day.

Although Duo Duo was young, she was precocious and intelligent, probably because she had experienced so much. Her hands were very nimble. The two of them teamed up and killed everyone. Yan Xianchuan was having a blast.

Lu Mingqiu was busy with work and rarely accompanied her in her idleness—playing games all day. The two of them teamed up and killed everyone. When it was time to eat, Yan Xianchuan still wasn’t satisfied.

At night, before going to bed, Yan Xianchuan remembered what she wanted to do during the day. She was supposed to argue with Lu Mingqiu.

It was probably because she had been too well-behaved, too considerate, and too understanding lately. Lu Mingqiu hadn’t even coaxed her a few times. How could that be!

She turned over in bed. Before she could speak, her lips were met with a soft touch.

“Go to sleep.”

Yan Xianchuan: Go to sleep immediately!

Finally, the night of the operation arrived. All the teams had arrived at their ambush positions in advance. They were just waiting for the order to attack.

Lu Mingqiu still had her usual ordinary face, but her eyes were filled with an endless chill. This small team was responsible for the most important base—the research institute where the mutated potion was stored.

Dozens of top hackers were helping the other teams to hack into the network, while Black was mainly guarding this place.

First, they had to cut off the power.

The attacks were simultaneous. No one would come to help. Each base was overwhelmed, so there was no fear of information leaks. Cutting off the power was to disable the equipment.

This team didn’t have any ordinary people. They were all ability users. Some of them weren’t high-level, and their abilities weren’t related to killing, but it didn’t matter. The key was that as long as they were ability users, they wouldn’t be affected by the potion.

They could still kill with guns.

Black’s infiltration wasn’t silent. The firewall set up by the Yan family here was too tight. It would self-check and report an error every three seconds.

The alarm suddenly sounded, but Black still got the most important thing—the map.

The electrical room was in the lower left corner, underground.

In terms of brute force destruction, it was time for Yan Xianchuan to make her move.

Her hair had been cut short, tucked behind her ears. It fluttered slightly in the wind as she ran. She found the right spot on the ground. Another ability user lifted the soil, revealing the metal plate underneath.

Yan Xianchuan curled her lips, stomped hard on the ground, and directly stomped out a big hole. She gave Lu Mingqiu a goodbye gesture, brought her legs together, and jumped in.

Lu Mingqiu was a little nervous and worried, but her expression was calm and decisive. They had rehearsed this operation many times. Now, they just needed to follow the plan.

Yan Xianchuan had done the most dangerous job. They needed to draw fire and make the base guards split up.

They didn’t have Yan Xianchuan’s strength, but guns and rocket launchers could achieve the same effect.

This base was built in a remote mountain area. It was the best cover for the Resistance, allowing them to use heavy weapons without worrying about attracting attention.

As soon as Yan Xianchuan jumped in, she saw the people inside stunned.

A normal, good person was coming down from the ceiling of someone else’s house!

“Enemy attack!” Someone immediately reacted and shouted at the top of their lungs.

This was a research institute. There were mostly researchers inside, and of course, there were guards, but they weren’t everywhere.

These people in white coats were terrified. They panicked and ran out, using their hands and feet.

Yan Xianchuan found it amusing, but she didn’t kill them. Instead, she looked down at the floor and did the same thing, going down another level.

She had a mission. She couldn’t kill indiscriminately. She had to finish the important things first.

As she jumped down, Yan Xianchuan couldn’t help but think: Am I too obedient?

Why did she do whatever Lu Mingqiu said? It was as if she had no initiative.

Yan Xianchuan stabbed the guards one by one with the daggers she had taken from her waist, while her mind wandered. When they had first met, the other person had been very accommodating to her (afraid of her going crazy). Now, she had no initiative at all.

Sigh… She threw the medicine bottle she was carrying onto the electrical box. She saw sparks explode, and the lights above her head went out. She continued to deal with the backup power supply, her feet didn’t stop, and her thoughts didn’t stop either: Love really makes people weak. The books were right.

The backup electrical box and the main electrical room were in two different directions. Yan Xianchuan ran down the corridor. Black was reporting the location to her along the way.

Many guards came to deal with her. They were all stabbed in the head by Yan Xianchuan’s daggers and died along the way.

The expression of each person who peeked was one of shock and confusion. This was a bulletproof helmet. How could it not even block a dagger?

Unfortunately, the people behind couldn’t see how the people in front died. Otherwise, they would know that it wasn’t that the helmet couldn’t block the dagger, but that the entire dagger, along with the helmet, had been dented, breaking through their skulls.

It wasn’t that the protective suit was faulty, it was just that brute force worked wonders.

Yan Xianchuan was running forward, still complaining in her mind. Suddenly, she heard a sentence in her mind, “Can you focus a little when you’re on a mission?”

Yan Xianchuan was startled, “What! When did you connect with me mentally?”

Lu Mingqiu: “…From the beginning.”

How could she possibly let this person go down alone? I had to keep track of the situation at all times.

Yan Xianchuan was horrified, “Does that mean everything I was thinking about just now was exposed?!”

Lu Mingqiu took a deep breath without showing it. Her mental power turned into invisible scythes, killing all the guards in her way.

It was supposed to be a serious attack, but this person was making it seem like a picnic. It was both funny and frustrating.

Yan Xianchuan immediately stopped thinking about anything. She quickly emptied her mind. But that’s how people are. The more you try not to think about things, the more you think about things that have nothing to do with it.

Then Lu Mingqiu heard the person on the other side start to mutter, “One person, two people, three people… Hmm, this person is left-handed, seven people, eight people…”
