"And there you have it, folks! Another chapter conquered...or at least, not completely butchered. Please forgive any egregious errors; I blame the coffee (or lack thereof).

The group left Yuecheng, unable to return to Nanjin City. The car was driving on the highway, and Lu Mingqiu told the Resistance member who was driving, “Go to the capital.”

The capital, the political center of the Federation, Diamond City.

Everyone in the car knew its name, but few had been there. The capital had very strict approval procedures. There were checks for entry and exit. People with a criminal history were simply unable to enter. They would be stopped directly.

Everyone in this car had some blood on their hands. Most of them had conflicts with the tycoons. It was only natural for them to be charged with some minor crimes.

Moreover, they were members of the Resistance, an underground organization. Going to the capital felt like walking into a trap.

After knowing their destination, many people were thinking to themselves: I never thought our organization was so powerful, they actually have a branch in the capital.

The Yan family was rampant, but they couldn’t stir up trouble in the capital.

The president’s control over this place was stricter than Yan Wen’s control over Yuecheng.

Lu Mingqiu leaned back in her seat, her brow furrowed slightly. This subtle change didn’t escape Yan Xianchuan’s eyes. She secretly hooked her finger around hers and held it in her palm.

Her lover might have wanted to sigh, but for some reason, she guessed that she didn’t want to burden her companions emotionally. So she just took a deep breath and exhaled slowly, controlling the sound of her breathing.

It was obvious that she was worried.

Her identity had been exposed, and the base had been forced to relocate. It must have been a very troublesome matter.

Yan Xianchuan wanted to help her share the burden, but she had no way to do so.

If only she could kill all the people Lu Mingqiu didn’t like. For her in the past, it was just a matter of flicking her wrist. But now, it was clearly not.

She had many weaknesses. Her strength had declined too much. Not to mention anything else, Yan Xun Gui alone could control her.

Yan Xianchuan: I’m so useless.

It feels like all I’m good for is eating, doesn’t it?

Love is so easy to make people fall into self-pity. Perhaps because her sadness was too obvious, Lu Mingqiu held her hand back and said in her mind, “What’s wrong? Are you feeling unwell?”

When they returned to the Yuecheng branch, time was urgent, and they didn’t have time to treat Yan Xianchuan. Could she have internal injuries? No matter what, it was a solid iron gate. It was normal to get hurt.

Lu Mingqiu knew that this person was actually very considerate. In fact, because she wasn’t very good at social situations, she was even more considerate than ordinary people.

If she was injured, she wouldn’t have said anything in the current situation.

Lu Mingqiu looked at her with concern, her eyes filled with worry.

Yan Xianchuan hesitated.

How could I say it? Should I just say that I was useless? No one would deliberately belittle themselves in front of someone they liked.

But they had agreed not to lie to each other.

Yan Xianchuan fell into a brief period of contemplation.

But soon, she stopped this behavior because Lu Mingqiu had already found an answer for her in her mind.

She sat up a little straighter, adjusted her posture, and let Yan Xianchuan lean her head against her shoulder.

The car was full, there was no room for her to lie down and rest. She hoped this would make her a little more comfortable.

“Do you want to take a nap?” she asked.

Yan Xianchuan… Although she didn’t understand what was happening, who could say no to free cuddles!

“What about your identity? What are you going to do about it?” She was worried about this problem and didn’t feel like sleeping.

“It’s okay,” Lu Mingqiu replied in her mind, “It’ll be fine. Don’t worry.”

Because she had thought of a good method, the best method she could use with her current identity.

Lu Mingqiu was a member of the Resistance. She didn’t need to keep this news a secret from the Yan family and worry about it. She would expose it first.

What was Lu Mingqiu’s job? She was a movie star. It was normal for her to take on a role in a movie, playing a member of the Resistance, wasn’t it?

This film genre wasn’t even new. She had even starred in a superhero movie where there was a villain called the Resistance.

When this news was released, everyone would only care about what kind of movie it was, what the plot was, and when it would be released.

Even if someone said she was a member of the Resistance, they would only get a positive response from passersby. Yes, she was, indeed, truly, undeniably. The next sentence would be, “Are you a fan of Qiu Qiu too?”

The Yan family naturally had no evidence to prove that she was a real underground Resistance member. They couldn’t produce any.

She would cut off all their paths. It just so happened that she was a movie star, so she could cleverly deal with it. She would take the initiative.

As for what to do with the film, that was easy. She would just find someone to write the script and then film it.

These were all trivial matters, not troublesome.

Lu Mingqiu’s suggestion was sent out, and she quickly received a reply: Do it.

Then she immediately logged onto her account and posted a blog post.

【I’ve got a lead on my next film. It’s a very good script. I’ll be playing a member of the Resistance. I’ll lead my people to overthrow the Demon King. I won’t spoil anything else. It’s very exciting, full of twists and turns. It’ll definitely give you a surprise.】

She was very popular. As soon as the message was sent out, it quickly received thousands of comments. The number was still increasing.

This was definitely a celebration for her fans. Most of the people who liked Lu Mingqiu were career fans. Of course, there were also appearance fans, but the two weren’t mutually exclusive. Who wouldn’t like a star who kept producing good works?

Especially since Lu Mingqiu didn’t take on variety shows. She rarely appeared online. The reality show she had been on before had been watched hundreds of times by countless fans.

Now that there was news of a new movie, they could finally eat something fresh. They didn’t have to pick up scraps anymore!

Lu Mingqiu’s own account was more effective than any publicity. Basically, after she mentioned the new movie, she would release some materials.

Many people were guessing in the comments what kind of story it would be. Since it was the Resistance, it would definitely be handsome and beautiful, right? Just thinking about it made them excited.

Even though nothing had been revealed, some artists had already started producing fan art. They used their imagination to draw. There were interstellar backgrounds, magic backgrounds, and even beastman backgrounds. Lu Mingqiu had brown ears with spots on top of her head, a long tail, a leopard-skin bodice, and a bow in her hand.

She was a leopard girl, so cool!

The phrase “Resistance Lu Mingqiu” quickly became a hot search. Soon, everyone knew that she was a member of the Resistance.

It didn’t matter if the Yan family wanted to expose this matter or not.

Lu Mingqiu wouldn’t leave this decision to others. She would take control.

But even though the crisis of her identity being exposed was resolved, they still had to go to the capital.

There were too many church members, it was impossible to guard against them. The Yan family hadn’t been offended for so long. In their rage, their counterattack would be very fierce.

The capital was the safest place.

Other organizations would be walking into a trap by going to the capital. But they weren’t. With their new identities, it would be easy to pass the capital’s inspection.

Gray Rabbit and the others were also heading to the capital. They had to stay there for a while, at least until the first wave of attacks was over.

The church and the Yan family were both targets that needed to be dealt with. Now that they had merged into one, it wouldn’t make things easier.

A behemoth like the church, it was difficult for the Resistance to overthrow it. It was impossible to completely eliminate the church.

Although the Holy Healing Church hadn’t been established for long, their doctrine and manifesto were almost known to everyone.

Even people who didn’t believe in religion knew what their doctrine was. They could even say a few blessings that the priests often said in the scriptures.

The church’s popularity was as good as the Yan family’s.

There were too many people who believed in the Goddess Itaru. Especially among the lower classes, almost one out of every twenty people was a believer. And this number was still increasing.

People placed their hopes in faith, praying for happiness in the afterlife. Why? Because they couldn’t find a way out of their current lives. They could see the end.

Ignorance can make a lifetime of suffering seem normal, even inevitable. Someone who’s never known anything different might not question toiling in the fields for their daily bread.

But if they see other people’s lives, see others enjoying luxury and being high and mighty, they naturally feel a gap.

With a gap, there is motivation. They want to change their situation. No one dislikes living a good life.

But now, society doesn’t allow the lower classes to climb up. It suppresses people’s upright spines, forcing them to bow and scrape, unable to raise their heads.

So they can only hope for the afterlife.

That’s why so many people believe in the Holy Healing Church.

Ultimately, this is the suffering of the class, not the sorrow of a particular person or family.

To eliminate the church, you can only change the world, clear away the rotten roots.

The Yan family grasped the psychology of the people. On this basis, they subtly distorted their thoughts, making the lower classes more willing to suffer.

Then these people would thank them, thank the culprit who had brought them misfortune, and obediently offer up their remaining money, using their flesh and blood to support their enemy.

Of all the tycoon families, big or small, the Yan family had the best reputation, they were bright and beautiful, but inside, they were the most stinking, the most disgusting.

At least other families were bad, they were openly bad. They clearly announced to the world, “Yes, I don’t treat the lower classes as people, I treat them as dogs.”

But the Yan family, on the surface, treated them as people. They gave them some small favors, making them grateful. In reality, these people were not even considered animals in their hearts. They were just fertilizer, so that the family could take root and suck their blood.

They were too good at manipulating people. The believers from all walks of life gathered together. The damage they could cause was greater than Azberto’s rebellion.

The best way to eliminate the church would be to replace the upper echelon, like the Dongye family, changing it from top to bottom, slowly.

They didn’t need to completely eliminate the church. That was impossible.

The people believed in religion. Let them believe. It’s okay. People do need spiritual sustenance. They just needed to slightly change the doctrine, remove the hidden dangers, and make the Holy Healing Church a truly helpful church.

Let the believers subtly change themselves, become ambitious and strive for progress. To achieve this, the first step was to reform the existing class system, give people a chance to breathe, give the lower classes a relatively fair opportunity, and give them a ladder to climb up.

And this was not something the Resistance could do.
