Mental Illness Evolution Manual - Chapter 104

Yan Xianchuan was so stung by that comment that she deleted the post immediately. It was hard to say how much of it was embarrassment and anger.
She lingered on the sofa for a while, deciding to forget everything she had just seen. She went to the fridge to find something delicious to eat, to cheer herself up.
Lu Mingqiu wasn’t often home. The things here were all bought by Su Hong. Knowing that she was coming back, she had filled the fridge in advance.
Yan Xianchuan went downstairs to get a box of ice cream, returned to the living room, turned on the TV, and picked a comedy to watch with gusto.
The ice cream was sweet and cold, effectively suppressing her recent unpleasantness.
Halfway through the movie, Lu Mingqiu sent her a message, telling her to go to bed early. Yan Xianchuan naturally replied with an “okay,” finished the movie, finished the ice cream, and went back to her own room to sleep.
Lu Mingqiu didn’t return until the next morning.
She had stayed up all night, but she didn’t have any dark circles or look tired. She even brought breakfast for Yan Xianchuan, who had just woken up.
The two of them didn’t stay in Nanjin City. After eating, they set off to return. They weren’t going back to Yuecheng, but to Dingyuan City, to switch places with Mirror.
Javier was left to Black’s observation for a few days. If there were no problems, they wouldn’t have to worry about him anymore.
Tycoons kept their identity information confidential. No one would know Javier’s identity except for other people of the same level.
He would be left to fend for himself.
The switch was very simple. Mirror would just pretend to go out for a meal, and the two of them could quietly switch identities in the bathroom. Mirror would become Yan Xianchuan’s disguise, and Yan Xianchuan would return to her original appearance. No one would notice, it would be seamless.
As for Lu Mingqiu, she would have to return on her own.
Although her identity was from the Polov family, the destruction of the family wouldn’t affect her. After joining the Yan family, she no longer had any family shares, and no one would make a fuss about her being an omega.
She had used the excuse that she had company business to take care of, that she had to deal with some entertainment industry matters. Now she had reshot a magazine, which was a patch for her actions.
Lu Mingqiu went directly to the restaurant to find Yan Xianchuan. She stayed at the airport for a while, timing it with the airship’s landing time. She called a car from the airport and returned to her original residence.
She didn’t return until about an hour after Yan Xianchuan had returned home. When they met, they acted like they had been apart for a long time. She went downstairs to greet her, happily bringing her into the house.
This wasn’t entirely an act.
The only major event in Dingyang City recently was the destruction of the Black Tiger Gang. The families hadn’t had any gatherings since then. They were all quiet, afraid of death.
Mirror had basically only been doing disaster relief work these days. Occasionally, she would make a show of visiting the people who had been rescued, offering condolences and asking how they were doing. This was Xie Wu’s idea, to show the Yan family’s good image.
Now that Yan Xianchuan was back, she had to follow the plan. She would go to different places to offer condolences every now and then.
During this time, out of all the families in Dingyang City, the Newman family and the Qi family were having the worst time.
The former had been slowly growing in strength by following the Polov family. Now that the Polov family had fallen, their position was being challenged. Other families were eager to move, and anyone with a little bit of power wanted to take over the top spot.
The Newman family’s years of dominance weren’t for naught. Capitalizing on the Black Tiger Gang’s downfall, they ruthlessly expanded their black market operations. Though facing pressure from rival families, they thrived, their influence actually exceeding its previous scope.
As for the Qi family, they were simply miserable.
Qi Ziyang regained his freedom and retaliated against the Yue family. But he wouldn’t stop there. Of course, he would turn around and retaliate against the Qi family.
The head of the Qi family had treated him like a piece of merchandise, sending him to the Yue family without regard for his wishes or his life. He had no feelings for his own family. He just wanted them to die.
He had told the head of the Qi family that he was leaving Dingyang City. In reality, he hadn’t left at all. He had found a black market doctor and had his face changed.
The rebels had caused a stir in the black market, which had also given him a new opportunity. He moved out of his friend Theresa’s house and found a place to live in the black market. He started his own business.
The gray area couldn’t be avoided. The rebels had killed many people, leaving their territory empty. This had attracted more people to come in and fight for the benefits.
Qi Ziyang had Theresa’s help, he didn’t lack weapons. He was also brave and ruthless. He quickly seized a small piece of territory and had a few subordinates who had been subdued and willingly surrendered to him.
He occupied a bar as his base. His business was booming every day, and there were many troublemakers, but they all left horizontally.
After two groups of people died, no one tried to take his place again. They temporarily recognized his strength.
Qi Ziyang’s new face wasn’t as beautiful as his old one. His old face was very delicate, with a pitiful air. His new face had a mocking air, as if he was always ready to mock people.
To match the bone structure and make the new face fit better, plastic surgeons generally didn’t recommend making major changes, especially changes in race. But minor adjustments could also make a person look completely different.
The new face was still very striking in terms of looks.
Especially when he sat behind the bar, occasionally working as a bartender, he always attracted many unrestrained gazes.
The lower class didn’t particularly idolize omegas. They mainly knew that these people were not someone they could get close to. He was using suppressants, so others didn’t know he was an omega. They were simply attracted to his face.
But if you asked around a little, you would know that he was the owner of this bar, and he was also very ruthless. No one wanted to cause trouble.
But there were always some people who were very confident, who thought they were very charming. Liu Qi was one such person. He was also the leader of a small gang that had risen to power. He had a dozen or so people under him, and he occupied the repair shop and car dealership across the street. Both of these were considered very profitable businesses. His actions were becoming increasingly arrogant.
When the bar next door got a new owner, he didn’t care at first. But when he went over to see the owner in person, he was amazed. He immediately had an idea.
Liu Qi thought to himself, I’m also considered handsome, and I have such a large force under me. He’s a newcomer. It’s a lot of trouble for me to guard my territory. If he joins me, wouldn’t it be a win-win situation? It’s good for you, good for me, good for everyone.
The first time he went, he mentioned it casually, but he was rejected. Today he came again, he felt that he hadn’t made himself clear last time, the other person didn’t know what he meant.
Why else would he refuse!
Liu Qi was confident. He came to the bar, accompanied by leisurely jazz music, he sat on a bar stool and smiled at Qi Ziyang, “Boss Wei, is business good today? A Black Star, please.”
Qi Ziyang glanced at him, he immediately felt annoyed. But the other bartender had gone to the bathroom. This guy was also the leader of a small gang, he couldn’t just keep him waiting.
He went over, made a drink and placed it on the bar. He said indifferently, “It’s okay.”
Liu Qi took a sip of the drink, he smiled confidently, “Last time I didn’t make myself clear. You’re a capable person, and so am I. Besides, I’m not bad looking, right? I’m guarding a street, I’m more than enough for you.”
“This bar is in a good location. You only have a few people under you. How long can you hold it? Why don’t you just agree to me? I’ll protect you. We’ll join forces. I admire you too. If we combine, it’s definitely a win-win situation. Think about it carefully and give me your answer.”
His tone was full of confidence, “I’ve made myself clear. You know what I mean. Smart people know what choice to make.”
“If you agree, it’s a win-win situation. It’s good for both of us.”
Qi Ziyang was silent.
There were too many things he wanted to refute. He didn’t even know which sentence to reject first!
Not to mention, how could this guy say that he’s not bad looking to his face?
Liu Qi wasn’t tall, about 1.7 meters. His upper body was long, his lower body was short. He was wearing low-waisted pants, maybe he wanted to look trendy, but this outfit made his legs look even shorter, like a gorilla.
His features weren’t good either. He had squinty eyes, a flat nose, and wide-set eyes. He smoked all the time, and his teeth were yellow when he opened his mouth. Where did he get this confidence?
Was it because his field of vision was narrow, so he couldn’t see the mirror clearly?
Qi Ziyang spat out each word, “With that anglerfish face, you call yourself handsome? Think you’re enough for me? You’ve had too much to drink, you’re slurring and rambling nonsense!”
He scoffed, “Your territory, huh? A few scraps of metal and some pathetic underlings—you call that power? Let’s compare our levels, shall we? But your nerve… that’s something I have to learn from you. Even a direct laser cannon blast wouldn’t penetrate your thick skin!”
“You think you can just say it and I’ll agree? Who do you think you are? The president? You’ve got a big ego for someone so insignificant!”
Several customers next to the bar couldn’t help but laugh. They were mostly bounty hunters, they didn’t care about Liu Qi.
When these laughs reached his ears, Liu Qi’s face immediately darkened.
“I came to you on my own initiative. I’m giving you face! Don’t be ungrateful!”
Liu Qi said angrily, “My brothers are all here. I’m telling you, if you don’t agree, I’ll take over the bar directly. You’ll have nowhere to cry then, you’ll regret it later!”
“But, your little face is really pretty,” he suddenly calmed down, he didn’t know what he was thinking, a hint of lust flashed in his eyes, “Later, you can beg me nicely, and I can give you a way out.”
Qi Ziyang, who had only been showing a mocking gaze, suddenly turned cold. He said slowly, “Should I thank you then?”
His new face was also very beautiful, it was full of aggression. But his beauty was like a sharpened dagger, inlaid with gems. It was both beautiful and deadly.
He didn’t want to change to a face without any features. Was it wrong to be beautiful? Did he have to be objectified all the time?
Having a good-looking appearance, was it his fault? Wasn’t this a good thing? Why was it like a terrible thing?
When he was an omega, people looked at him like this, they treated him like an object, they could look at him and evaluate him at will, fantasizing about his bed postures.
His ex-husband, and his friends would casually talk about things in bed, they would comment on him, they would comment on others, they would compare the people they had slept with, saying who performed better.
In their eyes, he was just a beautiful symbol, not a person. He didn’t deserve any respect.
Now no one knew he was an omega. He had his own small force, but he hadn’t escaped this kind of gaze.
It seemed like if you had a good-looking face, you had to endure this kind of wanton insult and disrespect, you had to endure the invasion of other people’s eyes.
Qi Ziyang chuckled briefly, he said softly, “You’re an idiot.”
He raised a hand, a gun barrel glinting at his fingertip. With a gunshot, a bullet shattered Liu Qi’s skull, blooming crimson within.
