"And there you have it, folks! Another chapter conquered...or at least, not completely butchered. Please forgive any egregious errors; I blame the coffee (or lack thereof).

“Let go of me!” Javier said angrily.

Yan Xianchuan asked sincerely, “You have a bad temper. You won’t bite me if I let go, will you?”

“Let go!” Javier was furious.

“Okay, then promise me you won’t move around,” Yan Xianchuan repeated, as if she were instructing a single-digit child who couldn’t move on their own.

To Javier, this was undoubtedly a warning, a way of putting him in his place, because he had ignored her earlier.

What a… what a brute!

Javier forcefully pulled his hand away from her. He straightened his clothes. All his anger dissipated like bubbles blown by a strong wind when his gaze fell on Inola.

“My dear, my dear sister. It’s so hard to see you.”

He had a smile on his face, one that was both joyful and tinged with complaint. He changed the subject, “But a beautiful treasure is worth a long wait, isn’t it?”

Lu Mingqiu looked at him for a while. This was indeed her delusional half-brother, he hadn’t been replaced by someone else.

Her mental ability brushed over him like water waves. Javier’s gaze instantly became stiff and scattered.

“Why did you come to find me?”

“I wanted to get closer to you, I wanted to find something interesting to do.” Javier honestly stated his inner thoughts.

“What do you know about me?” Lu Mingqiu asked again.

“I guessed that you have another identity, you’re not as simple as you seem. You must be from some underground organization,” Javier said like he was spilling the beans, “You’re strange, you’re different from other omegas, you’re special. And I discovered this specialness. You’re unique. Your inner self and your outer self are completely different. It’s an artist’s intuition!”

“So, you don’t know what I’m doing behind the scenes, you’re just guessing,” Lu Mingqiu said.

“Why bother getting to the bottom of the unknown!” Javier said with a crazed expression, “The things we pursue are shrouded in mystery. That’s the ultimate beauty! If we knew everything, life would be so much less fun!”

“Have you joined any organizations? Did you come here on your own initiative, or were you instructed by someone else?” Lu Mingqiu said.

“Of course it’s my own idea. I’m a free poet. How could I be restricted or bound!” Javier said with a serious expression.

“He doesn’t seem very useful,” Yan Xianchuan said.

“You’re just a brute with no brains, a fool. What right do you have to talk about me?” Javier turned around and glared at him, his words full of disdain.

Yan Xianchuan: “…”

She immediately put on a sad face, shamelessly tattling, “He said I’m a fool!”

Lu Mingqiu had been very serious, but now she couldn’t suppress the curve of her lips. She coaxed her lover, “You’re an adult, don’t stoop to his level.”

Yan Xianchuan quieted down, but Javier’s face twisted. He squeezed out a sentence from between his teeth, “You may be unique, but your taste in people is terrible!”

Lu Mingqiu didn’t say anything more to him. She walked over, extended her index finger and tapped it on his forehead. The latter instantly became dazed and walked out of the room in a daze.

She looked at Yan Xianchuan’s confused expression and explained, “I hypnotized him. He’ll forget me, he’ll forget that I’m still in the Polov family, and he won’t remember coming here. He’ll think he came here to relax.”

“He’ll go home by himself, fall asleep directly in bed, and when he wakes up, he won’t remember anything.”

Yan Xianchuan: “Wow.”

“That’s amazing.”

“But isn’t there a risk? Like, what if he suddenly remembers?”

“He’s just an ordinary person,” Lu Mingqiu said slowly, “Besides, the hypnosis I gave him is essentially the use of ability. It’s not the kind of hypnosis that a psychologist would use. Unless the subject of the ability—I—don’t exist anymore, or another mental ability user removes my ability, he won’t remember.”

“This is different from brainwashing. Brainwashing is much more delicate. Hypnosis is a crude transformation, while brainwashing doesn’t affect the subject’s nature. It just adds another layer of color.”

So it needs to be maintained regularly.

But the current head of the Dongye family, Dongye He, had already been replaced by their own people. Lu Mingqiu hadn’t had to do any maintenance work for a long time.

During this rebel incident, the hospital under the Dongye family’s control had also provided a lot of help. They had reduced the treatment fees by half, and they had secretly used funds to initiate donations. They hadn’t made any profit, you could say they were providing medical assistance at a loss.

They didn’t need to use the Resistance’s own assets to do this. They could just transfer a little bit of money from the Dongye family’s account, they had more than enough to spend.

They were so rich. Any watch or cufflinks they picked out from their closet would cost hundreds of thousands or even millions.

But the Resistance members didn’t spend money as recklessly as the original owner. Every little bit helped, especially since their assets were much more than a mosquito’s leg.

The Dongye family was already a top tycoon. They didn’t need to rely on external things to show off. If they went out to a party and wore clothes from last season, others would only think that he was low-key, or that he just liked it, that he was willing, not that he couldn’t afford new ones.

But their own people didn’t socialize much recently. The excuse they used was ready-made. Their father had died, they were sad, they weren’t interested.

Some people guessed that he was just putting on a show. It didn’t matter, let them guess. No one would ask him face-to-face anyway.

The people at the bottom wouldn’t care about these things. They were most concerned about how to live each day.

Javier’s matter was settled.

Black would keep an eye on his subsequent movements for a while.

Nanjin City hadn’t been attacked. After Azberto was declared to have been eliminated, the city quickly returned to its former prosperity and bustle.

After all, it was a city where entertainment culture was prevalent. Besides, after this incident, the residents living here had a kind of retaliatory consumption mentality.

After all, you never knew which would come first, an accident or tomorrow. It was better to seize the opportunity and enjoy yourself while you could.

Since Lu Mingqiu was back, she decided to take some time to shoot a magazine, which would be sold in electronic format.

She told Yan Xianchuan about this. As expected, the latter immediately said, “I’ll go with you.”

“I’ll probably have to work all night. You stay home and get a good night’s sleep,” Lu Mingqiu didn’t agree directly this time, she refused her.

“You just recovered, you need to rest more.”

Although, for Yan Xianchuan’s physique, staying up all night wouldn’t be considered any kind of damage. But caring was irrational.

“But I want to go with you,” Yan Xianchuan didn’t obediently agree, she argued her case (trying to act cute).

“I know, I know,” Lu Mingqiu chuckled gently, she reached out and hugged her. The latter didn’t look very happy, but her body was very honest. She immediately hugged back.

After hugging for a while, Lu Mingqiu patted her back, signaling her to let go. Then she used one hand to caress her cheek, she pressed her lips against hers.

“You stay home and rest, okay?”

Then she exchanged a deep kiss, “I want you to stay home. Okay?”

“Um?” Then Lu Mingqiu switched to a series of light pecks, she would kiss her almost every time she said a word.

“Stay home and wait for me. Chuanchuan is a good girl, right?”

Yan Xianchuan had never been so thoroughly disarmed. Overwhelmed, dazed, and flushed crimson—like she’d been drinking—she instinctively tightened her arms around the person before her.

She couldn’t tell what Lu Mingqiu had said. She nodded dizzily.

“Then let go of me,” Lu Mingqiu pinched her arm.

Yan Xianchuan had already lost her own will. She did whatever the other person said. When she was told to let go, she let go.

“You’re so good,” her lover kissed her again, “If you want a midnight snack, there’s food in the fridge.”

Yan Xianchuan nodded randomly.

“Then I’m going now.”

Lu Mingqiu was like a fairy from a myth. She just waved her hand, said a few words, and spread her charm. She made Yan Xianchuan dizzy, she didn’t know which way was up or down.

She pushed Yan Xianchuan onto the sofa. The latter obediently sat down, she looked up at her blankly, as if she had been enchanted.

Lu Mingqiu looked at her like this, she thought it was really cute. She couldn’t help but kiss her a few more times before getting up and leaving.

After she left, the door closed. She was no longer in sight. Yan Xianchuan blankly raised her hand, her fingertips pressed against her lips, she rubbed a little bit of the wet liquid. As soon as she thought about where it came from, her already red face burned a few more degrees.

She was both longing, awkward, and restless.

This was the taste of entanglement, one of the many emotions that love brought.

Yan Xianchuan savored this feeling carefully, she felt a little sweet in her heart.

But how could she get closer to the person she liked?

She thought and thought, then suddenly thought of the almighty internet. Although it had its good and bad sides, the last time she had a problem with her feelings, she had solved it through this. This time, she should be able to find a solution too.

Yan Xianchuan did what she thought. She immediately went online and asked this question— “I’ve confirmed my relationship with the person I like. What should I do to get closer to her?”

Mainly, she had a hurdle in her heart.

There had been a deep exchange between the two of them, but it really wasn’t good. In essence, it was even a forced act.

Would Lu Mingqiu have any resentment? Although she said she didn’t mind, this kind of thing was a kind of harm, no matter how you looked at it.

At least in the education she had received, this kind of behavior was clearly placed in the category of bad things.

So even though Yan Xianchuan wanted to, she had never been particularly proactive. One reason was because of her personality and her views. The other was because of historical baggage.

She was afraid of making Lu Mingqiu dislike her.

She was afraid of making her think back to bad memories.

She was afraid that she would hate her because of it.

Her post went up, and it was quickly replied to. It was quite rare for a love post to appear among all the complaints about the world being destroyed.

Many people were tired of cursing, they were happy to relax for a while.

Then they saw it, and they laughed. What kind of question was this?

【Isn’t this simple?】

【Are you really clueless or are you fishing? Just say it, okay?】

【Is this even worth asking?】

【You guys don’t understand. The poster must want some sense of ritual, they want it to be romantic. If you want flowers, you want something practical and romantic, just put a card there.】

Yan Xianchuan: What is this…

Yan Xianchuan: “No, it’s because we slept together… um, one night, that wasn’t very good.”

【I understand. You’re not good at it.】

Yan Xianchuan: !!!
