Mental Illness Evolution Manual - Chapter 102

The deputy had spent more time in Kurtz than he had spent anywhere else.
You could say that he was more familiar with Kurtz, with the Jerialian Castle, than anything else.
Even the Federation’s actions would take some time. The airship landed on the helipad behind the castle. The deputy got out, got in the car, and drove all the way to the back door of the castle.
He got out of the car and strode into the castle. He told his subordinates to stay outside, then he went to a pointed tower, went down the stairs, and entered the basement.
Candle-shaped electric lights cast a yellow glow, illuminating the dark basement. The deputy walked on the ground expressionlessly, all the way to the end of the room. He knocked on the seamless wall in a certain pattern, then twisted the antlers on the deer head sculpture downwards.
After doing all this, the wall retreated, revealing a small door.
The deputy extended his index finger and pressed it against the door. A stinging pain came from his fingertip, a drop of blood flowed out, but it was absorbed by the door. After a while, the door slid upwards, revealing a technologically advanced elevator.
The incandescent light shone on the deputy’s face, making his already pale face bloodless, like a corpse, a walking dead, a soulless dummy.
The elevator slowed down and finally stopped. The deputy walked out, ignoring the various experimental equipment inside, and went straight to the deepest part.
A metal door stood silently at the end. It was thick, sturdy, like a wall, blocking his path.
The deputy did his identity verification again. Two beeping electronic sounds rang out, and the sound of machinery running came from behind the door. He put on a pair of gloves, reached out and pushed the door open with force. Cold air turned into white mist, pouring out from the crack in the door.
Behind the door was a small, sealed room. The temperature here was too low, the deputy’s hair and eyebrows instantly frosted over.
He picked up a box from the cabinet, then picked up a clamp and carefully removed a sealed glass bottle placed on the central table in the room. The bottle was exactly the same size as the space reserved in the box, it lay inside perfectly.
After doing all this, the deputy quickly closed the box lid. His face was frozen blue. He turned around and walked towards the door.
He put the box he had just taken out back into the refrigerated sealed box that had been prepared in advance.
The deputy carried the handle, he didn’t take anything else from here, and he didn’t bother to destroy any information. He left the basement directly.
His superior was dead, the Polov family would inevitably decline, and they would be hunted by the Federation for the rest of their lives. There was no chance of them rising again.
Destroying this information would be a waste of time. Exposing it to the Federation wouldn’t make any difference. They were already wanted men.
The worst had already happened. How much worse could it get?
The deputy carried the box out of the tower. He had no nostalgia for this magnificent castle, and he didn’t care about the people inside. Without his superior, it was nothing.
The winter wind whipped up the snow, falling on his military cap. The deputy’s eyes were cold, the coldness in them was even colder than the weather.
He came and went quickly, he took what he needed and left. He didn’t stay here at all. He got on the airship and left directly. At the same time, he issued an order—everyone go to Lanfu Town near Yuecheng to meet.
He would send half of the things in the box to the capital and half to Yuecheng.
The Yan family, also a top tycoon, was too good at scheming, and their reputation was too good.
Only a fool would believe that a family that made its fortune in arms would be a good person. They were making money from war, every penny was stained with blood.
The Dongye family had recently changed their ways and started doing good deeds. Azberto back then had looked on coldly, he felt there was something fishy. The old patriarch was a man who was obsessed with longevity and power. His descendants weren’t good either.
For such people to have a change of heart was more absurd than having three suns in the sky.
The deputy had been ordered to investigate, but he hadn’t found anything. This was even more bizarre.
The tycoons knew each other inside and out. Who didn’t know who? Now there was only one Yan family left.
They wanted to stay out of it and dominate. Don’t even think about it. They were making money from war, earning money from both sides. They must have made a lot of money this time.
The deputy put his hand on the ridge of the box, his fingertips slid along the lines on it.
You want to step on your superior to take your family one step further, then I will make sure it falls from the sky.
On the other side, the Resistance base in Yuecheng.
All the members held a small memorial service. Silver Ring rushed over from other bases to see off his best brother.
There was sadness on his face, there was reluctance, but there was also relief.
“You really don’t need to comfort me,” he said, “It was Starfire that gave us a second life. We, the two brothers, were able to live so long, and we did many things that we never dared to dream of before.”
“We did the right thing, right?”
Lu Mingqiu said solemnly, “Yes.”
“Then what else is there to say?” Silver Ring smiled, “We’ve gotten our money’s worth, it was worth it.”
“He told me a long time ago that he wanted to be buried in the sea. He said he wanted to lie under the coral and watch the fish swim every day,” he said cheerfully, “Let him stay here for now. When we succeed, we’ll move him into the sea, so he won’t have any regrets.”
The small memorial service wasn’t very solemn, it wasn’t depressing either. Some people whispered and joked, talking about the funny things the deceased comrade had done in the past, they dug up all his embarrassing stories and told them, making the listeners laugh and exclaim, “Really? Is that true?”
They really didn’t treat this as a very sad event.
The small memorial service ended. Yan Xianchuan followed Lu Mingqiu back to her room. The latter pressed a few buttons on the floating screen, her brow furrowed slightly.
Yan Xianchuan: “What’s wrong?”
“I have a brother,” Lu Mingqiu said, “His name is Javier. His went to Nanjin City to find me. He went to my house several times, but Su Hong turned him away.”
“He has a little suspicion about my identity.”
Yan Xianchuan thought for a moment, then asked after a while, “Can we just arrest him…?”
She had wanted to say kill him, but she changed her mind at the last minute.
“I’m considering that,” Lu Mingqiu said calmly, “He’s been jumping around, it’s really annoying.”
“I’ll go back and arrest him. I’ll ask him what he knows. It would be bad if we spooked him.”
“I’ll go too. I’ll go with you,” Yan Xianchuan immediately agreed.
“Then let’s go now,” Lu Mingqiu didn’t find her answer surprising at all. She said it on the spot.
This wasn’t an urgent matter, but it was obviously not good to drag it out for too long. Javier was mentally unstable. He had come to see his sister several times, but he had been turned away and couldn’t see her. He was already in a very bad mood.
After all a madman can wield immense destructive power.
Lu Mingqiu sent him a message, saying that she had been on a filming assignment elsewhere and would only return to Nanjin City at night. She would try to stabilize his mood for now.
Javier was indeed in a much better mood after receiving this message. In the evening, he arrived at his sister’s place on time and pressed the doorbell.
After a while, the door opened, revealing a face he hated very much.
Javier’s face immediately fell. He didn’t bother to hide his dislike. The smile on his lips immediately disappeared. He said coldly, “I’m not here to see you. Where’s Inola?”
He was giving Yan Xianchuan the cold shoulder, but he had chosen the wrong person.
He hated Yan Xianchuan, but Yan Xianchuan didn’t even consider him a living person.
She stepped aside, letting him in, then closed the door.
“My dear sister, Inola!” Javier walked around her, when he saw Lu Mingqiu, he immediately beamed. His stinky face bloomed like a spring flower, full of enthusiasm, “Oh, long time no see. Look at you, you’ve become so haggard.”
He walked over with his arms wide open, wanting to give her a hug, and then maybe a kiss on the cheek.
He had only taken two steps when his neck suddenly tightened. His clothes were pulled tight, making him choke.
Javier was furious. He turned around and glared, only to see the person he hated grabbing his collar. She said seriously, “If you have something to say, say it. Don’t get physical.”
