Chapter 6: Bubble Tea: Who Did I Provoke!
***
Throughout the entire day, Tang Xiaorou basically revolved around Yu Chuyao, which made those who knew about this feel surprised.
After all, Tang Xiaorou was quite famous throughout the school, beautiful with a sweet voice and top grades, from a well-off family, yet she was pursuing another girl in her class, and even specifically requested to be in the same class when choosing between liberal arts and science tracks.
This pursuit has been going on for more than 2 years now, and has become a well-known amusing tale.
Q City First High School is a boarding school, but for those living nearby, or those who have objections to school accommodation, they naturally don’t force it. They can be day students, as long as the school isn’t responsible for any incidents during their commute.
And Tang Xiaorou was naturally someone the school couldn’t constrain, her home wasn’t far, so she naturally went home every day.
A small group of day students left the campus, dispersing in different directions, including Su Yingying and Jiang Xinxin.
However, the two didn’t hurry to leave, instead standing at the roadside by the gate for a long time.
“Oh come on, Xinxin, let’s go, I don’t think that person will come anymore,” Su Yingying complained while tugging at Jiang Xinxin’s arm. “You forgot she barely talked to me today.”
Jiang Xinxin, with a look of having everything under control, comforted Su Yingying: “Don’t worry Yingying, that person is just playing hard to get, let’s just wait here, she’ll definitely come out with bubble tea.”
In the past, during these 10-plus minutes after class, Tang Xiaorou would always go to the school’s bubble tea shop to get several pre-ordered drinks, then come out to give them to Su Yingying, naturally including a share for her best friend Jiang Xinxin.
Originally, Tang Xiaorou would run several hundred meters to chase after the two, but gradually it became a habit, and she simply waited at the gate.
Jiang Xinxin felt that for more than 2 years, no matter how much Su Yingying acted up or made trouble, Tang Xiaorou never had a change of heart, how could she suddenly change her ways? She must have read some romance novel, or someone behind the scenes was giving her advice, making Su Yingying take the initiative.
“The more cold she acts, the more patient we should be, I don’t believe she can be more patient than us,” Jiang Xinxin advised Su Yingying.
Mainly because for such a long time, she had been freeloading off the benefits Tang Xiaorou gave to Su Yingying, even just the little bits that slipped through the cracks were enough to live quite comfortably.
After hearing this analysis, Su Yingying immediately gained confidence, directly taking out her phone and starting to play with it.
Sure enough, within 5 minutes, a familiar figure ran out from the crowd, carrying two cups of bubble tea, looking panicked as if searching for something.
“See? What did I tell you?” Jiang Xinxin said excitedly, these words making Su Yingying completely relax, considering whether to wave and let Tang Xiaorou know where they were.
Soon Tang Xiaorou noticed something, her body paused for a moment, then ran towards the roadside.
At this, the two quickly walked a few steps under the street light, afraid that they couldn’t be seen in the darkness.
As Tang Xiaorou approached, the two’s originally smiling faces turned cold, planning to give her the cold shoulder as usual.
However, that running figure didn’t seem to stop in front of them, but directly bypassed the two and continued jogging towards the back.
“Classmate Yu!” Tang Xiaorou called out, startling the girl who was concentrating on checking messages on her phone so much that she almost threw her phone.
Yu Chuyao was also one of the day students, but she wasn’t sure why, because when she opened her phone to check her home’s location, she found there seemed to be quite a distance.
Well, nothing to be done, who told her this was her home now, might as well walk back.
Just as she was about to check the location, the sudden shout nearly made her throw her phone away.
Although this phone model was quite old, and Yu Chuyao, who had experienced using a new phone for 3 months in college, found it somewhat disappointing, but she wasn’t in a position to be picky now, and had to treasure it.
Therefore, after securing her phone, she glared fiercely at the person behind her through her thick bangs.
It’s her again, why is she like a lingering ghost!
“Here, this is for you,” before Yu Chuyao could speak, Tang Xiaorou stuffed the bubble tea in her hands into Yu Chuyao’s arms: “Drink it quickly while it’s hot. It won’t taste good when it’s cold.”
Yu Chuyao blankly looked down at the warm bubble tea in her arms, then looked up to see her inserting a straw into the other cup and bringing it to her mouth, seeing her unmoved, she raised an eyebrow and revealed a confident smile.
How to put it, if it were other boys doing this kind of eyebrow-raising and eye-making at Yu Chuyao, they would probably seem pretentious and narcissistic. But who told Tang Xiaorou to be a beautiful girl with a slim and tall figure? It instead added a touch of gallantry.
However, Yu Chuyao didn’t dare to touch the bubble tea in her hands, because she noticed that some kind of resentful energy seemed to be emanating from not far away, so intense it was almost materializing…
“Tang Xiaorou!!!” Jiang Xinxin shouted very loudly, fortunately the main group of day students had mostly left, otherwise it would definitely have become the focus at the school gate.
Tang Xiaorou, whose name was called, very impatiently rubbed her ears and turned around reluctantly, saying in a deep voice: “What? Why shout so loud.”
She was now wholly focused on thinking about how to get close to this little one who was somewhat guarded against her, where would she have so much energy to deal with these two unlucky things.
Jiang Xinxin, as Su Yingying’s mouthpiece, directly put the question out in the open: “Why didn’t you buy bubble tea tonight! Only bought two cups and gave them to this thing!”
Damn, I think you’re the thing! Yu Chuyao thought this was indeed the best friend who sets off the female lead’s noble temperament, opening her mouth with uneducated words.
“Right now you’d better go to the bubble tea shop across the street and buy two more cups, one for me and one for Yingying, otherwise we won’t talk to you for the whole day tomorrow.”
This I understand, Yu Chuyao immediately saw the classic relationship between the two. The female lead Su Yingying had to maintain her image as a cold beautiful girl, basically couldn’t make demands for this and that herself, mainly playing the role of being without desires.
But just because you don’t want it, doesn’t mean others can’t forcefully give it to you. So she needed someone by her side to hint at needs for others to fulfill.
Su Yingying was also clear about this, which is why she was willing to be friends with Jiang Xinxin. And Jiang Xinxin could also get benefits from this, truly birds of a feather flock together, a nest of snakes and rats.
However, from the perspective of the novel’s female protagonist, these details might not be shown, it really takes transmigrating into a book to see such an exciting performance.
Upon hearing this, Tang Xiaorou revealed a look as if she was looking at idiots, scanning the two.
“If you’re sick, go get treatment, who cares if you talk to me?” Really, she had given these two too many benefits, making them treat her like an ATM that comes when called and goes when dismissed.
Does she still care about this now? She directly retorted strongly: “Who I buy bubble tea for, what business is it of yours?”
