Chapter 31: Looking at You
***
The boy was indeed stunned by Tang Xiaorou’s words.
She saw through his intentions and precisely hit his weak spot.
Those who wore such clothes under their school uniforms were likely sports students. Because they needed to train regularly, they wore loose clothes, and in their spare time, they would also gather to play basketball and such.
In Tang Xiaorou’s view, among these sports students, many had less academic pressure and more time to do other things. As everyone knows, once people have free time, they start thinking about doing other things.
For example, dating. If she remembered correctly, about 90% of the sports students at school seemed to have partners on campus.
She saw Yu Chuyao nervously adjusting her hairband and bangs in her seat, then looked at the big fool standing at the door, and easily saw through his intentions.
“Do you need it?” Tang Xiaorou continued: “If you need it, I’ll go to the office right now.”
She had good relationships with the teachers, after all, her grades were good, her interpersonal relationships were nice, and she was respectful to teachers, which teacher wouldn’t like such a student?
If necessary, she could go to the grade director, as she was familiar there too.
Now the boy panicked. His grades weren’t good to begin with, and he was only getting away with things now because he was a sports student who hadn’t taken the physical examination yet, so the teachers weren’t strict with him.
But in his two years at school, he had caused quite a bit of trouble. If he got caught doing something explicitly forbidden by the school again, it would probably turn into another mess involving parent meetings and suspension.
It wasn’t worth it. He apologized to Tang Xiaorou and quickly fled the scene.
Hah, with that level of courage he dared to set his sights on her girl? Tang Xiaorou secretly laughed to herself. Actually, she didn’t know him, she just “threatened” him using common mistakes made by sports students based on his appearance.
Surprisingly, it worked.
But the point was Yu Chuyao in the corner.
Bringing lunch back to her seat, Yu Chuyao finally relaxed her tense body and let out a sigh of relief.
“It’s all your fault!” Yu Chuyao irritably punched Tang Xiaorou’s arm: “You didn’t even remind me when you woke up!”
If she had reminded her, the hairband would have been in her undershirt pocket, and she wouldn’t have foolishly walked around the teaching building getting discovered.
“Okay, okay, it’s all my fault.” Tang Xiaorou seemed very experienced in teasing and comforting children, dealing with Yu Chuyao’s unreasonable behavior with a smile: “I just thought you looked too beautiful while sleeping and forgot to remind you.”
Pretty words, but you’re not the one who got into trouble being seen! Yu Chuyao glared at her fiercely.
Those words were quite pleasing though, Yu Chuyao found them quite satisfying.
This also reminded Tang Xiaorou that she should prepare more of these things early on, so they could be found and used anytime.
“But, I helped chase him away for you…” Tang Xiaorou grinned and pushed the lunchbox to Yu Chuyao: “Shouldn’t Miss Yu show some appreciation?”
Yu Chuyao took the lunch and was about to open it to eat when she was interrupted by Tang Xiaorou’s words.
Show appreciation? Oh, you want me to do something again, right?
But after all, Tang Xiaorou had helped her so much today, from giving her sanitary pads to taking her to the infirmary to buy underwear, plus she had been eating the lunch she brought recently, far beyond what her living allowance could afford.
Indeed, she couldn’t keep taking without giving back.
“So what do you want me to do?” Yu Chuyao wasn’t sure what she could do, given her circumstances, she seemed to have nothing to offer.
“Let’s eat first.” Tang Xiaorou didn’t specify directly: “We have class now, and you don’t have time to go with me, let’s talk about it next break.”
“Playing mysterious again…” Yu Chuyao pouted and complained. She didn’t know why but she always felt Tang Xiaorou had this air of having everything under control.
What gave her such confidence?
There were no more incidents during lunch, and after cleaning up, the classmates gradually returned.
When the classmates came back and saw Yu Chuyao and Tang Xiaorou already sitting in their seats, there was inevitably another round of private discussion.
The two had left in the middle of morning classes and disappeared for over two hours before coming back now, it was hard to say there wasn’t something between them?
And they were quite interested in this, after all, it was hard not to wonder if Yu Chuyao had really been won over by Tang Xiaorou?
People couldn’t help but sigh, Tang Xiaorou had pursued Su Yingying for two years without success, but unexpectedly, with this ordinary nobody, in such a short time, their relationship had already reached this stage.
They couldn’t help but turn their gazes to Su Yingying, who felt uncomfortable being watched like this, kept a cold expression, ignored everyone, and started her afternoon nap at her desk.
Actually, only Tang Xiaorou knew the true situation.
Although she had many interactions with Yu Chuyao now, their relationship was still just at the friendship stage. Bringing lunch and taking her to the infirmary were things that could be done between friends too.
So she hadn’t directly revealed her desires either, what she wanted was for Yu Chuyao to fall for her too, not to force anything.
As for what others saw, her pursuing Yu Chuyao… well, only she knew the real situation.
It was actually her reaching above her station, and even Yu Chuyao herself might not understand why.
Today’s events also gave Tang Xiaorou a reminder.
She couldn’t let her guard down until she had completely attracted Yu Chuyao and confirmed their relationship.
In her memory, she hadn’t heard any information about Yu Chuyao dating at several class reunions, so she wasn’t sure if the other party would like girls.
And turning a straight girl, well, that’s not an easy task.
Without the disguise of the hairband, her competitors might have a chance to surpass her.
But her worries were actually unnecessary, she didn’t know about Yu Chuyao’s book-transmigrator identity, so she wasn’t aware that her previous self also liked girls.
Making Yu Chuyao date boys… even if you killed her, she couldn’t imagine the scene.
Isn’t this where the information gap comes in?
Yu Chuyao, who was lying on her desk planning to rest a bit more to have energy for afternoon classes, slightly turned her head and caught Tang Xiaorou also lying down secretly watching her.
“What are you looking at?” Yu Chuyao snorted irritably.
Unexpectedly, the other person teased back: “Looking at the fool who doesn’t even know her own period dates~”
Oh oops.
Unable to refute, had she really become this silly, slow beautiful fool in Tang Xiaorou’s heart?
She must find a chance to prove herself properly in the future, show her prowess!
Ah no, right now it should be show her feminine prowess!
