Chapter 2: The Villainess is Reborn

***

Tang Xiaorou, who was in excruciating pain just a second ago with her body feeling like it was shattering, suddenly sat up from her desk. Beads of sweat covered her forehead as she gasped for air, as if she had just experienced life and death.

“Am I… not dead?” Tang Xiaorou quickly patted various parts of her body, finding everything intact.

Even so, her frantically beating heart still couldn’t calm down, and the memories in her mind were so clear that they couldn’t possibly be mere delusions.

She had clearly jumped to her death from a tall building, and that moment of pain was so deeply etched in her memory.

The sound of the teacher lecturing in the background nearly brought tears to Tang Xiaorou’s eyes, who hadn’t yet recovered from her emotional state.

She understood that she had been reborn.

She was grateful to heaven for giving her another chance, because it wasn’t until her death that she realized just how terribly wrong she had been.

Now that she had awakened to the truth, she could still prevent making huge mistakes in time. Perhaps she could change this tragic outcome?

Turning her head, she looked at the girl sitting next to her across the aisle.

Su Yingying.

This was the person she used to like.

Although society has become very open nowadays, romance between girls still surprises many people, especially in this high school influenced by exam-oriented education.

She was undoubtedly a complete outlier.

Moreover, she didn’t know how to keep a low profile at that time. Relying on her family’s decent financial situation, she openly pursued Su Yingying at school every day, making many people avoid her when they saw her, afraid of being caught by teachers and getting lectured.

After all, she was academically excellent, and the discipline director, upholding academic performance above all else, tacitly accepted her behavior and would only give other students a hard time.

Thinking about it now, how ridiculous must she have been to fall for such a woman?

Her attraction to girls wasn’t just because of Su Yingying’s beauty that earned her the title of school belle, but also because of some childhood experiences that made her believe Su Yingying was her destined other half.

Unfortunately, it was all a scam, as Su Yingying wasn’t the person who had influenced her.

Therefore, upon being reborn and seeing Su Yingying again, recalling all her actions before death in her memories, she was already restraining herself from rushing over to hit her.

Since she had the chance to start over, she would certainly not have any more entanglements with Su Yingying, wanting to draw a clear line between them immediately.

Just as she endured until class ended, Tang Xiaorou was about to walk outside the classroom to properly enjoy this long-lost campus life, but unexpectedly, as soon as she stood up, Su Yingying blocked her path, and as if it were only natural, held out the cup in her hand to her.

“Xiaorou, hurry up and help me get some water, it’ll be a long wait if there are too many people later.”

“Mine too!” Her good friend Jiang Xinxin immediately came over and shamelessly stuffed her cup into Tang Xiaorou’s arms as well.

This left Tang Xiaorou speechless. She wondered just how much she must have fawned over Su Yingying before to make them so comfortable ordering her around. Moreover, while Su Yingying still maintained some restraint by just holding out her cup, how dare you, Jiang Xinxin, an irrelevant person, be so presumptuous?

As they say… birds of a feather flock together.

Without saying a word, Tang Xiaorou simply spread her hands, dropping the cups that had been stuffed into her arms to the ground, and walked out of the classroom without looking back.

This action clearly exceeded Su Yingying and Jiang Xinxin’s understanding, and the two stood dumbfounded for several seconds before reacting.

“Tang Xiaorou, stop right there!” Before Su Yingying could speak, Jiang Xinxin took it upon herself to shout loudly, attracting the attention of all the noisy classmates: “What’s wrong with you in broad daylight!”

Originally, the classmates were used to Tang Xiaorou’s pursuit of Su Yingying, and although they felt it was a waste of Tang Xiaorou’s pretty face, unfortunately, since entering school in the first year of high school, no boy had ever received any positive attention from her.

However, the spectating classmates observed carefully and noticed that today’s situation seemed a bit different?

“What do you mean what’s wrong with me?” Tang Xiaorou suppressed her agitated nerves and said irritably to the two: “Why should I get water for two people I’m not even close to?”

That’s right, what obligation did she have to get water for them?

Su Yingying’s previously haughty face changed for a moment, showing great surprise, but quickly returned to normal. This naturally didn’t escape the notice of the reborn Tang Xiaorou, who laughed inwardly: as expected of a green tea bitch, she’s so good at pretending.

But the next moment, the latter’s words made her lose her composure.

“Xiaorou, stop fooling around, hurry up and get the water, or I won’t let you walk home with us tonight.”

As if walking home with her was some kind of honor.

Tang Xiaorou felt bewildered and waved her hand dismissively: “Whoever wants to go home with you can go with you, I don’t even like you.”

I don’t like you.

These simple four words shocked everyone present except her.

Many people’s first thought was: how is this possible? How could Tang Xiaorou, the school’s acknowledged lesbian, not like Su Yingying?

Is today April Fools’ Day?

Su Yingying and Jiang Xinxin completely lost their composure now, unable to understand how Tang Xiaorou, who had been caring and bringing breakfast just this morning, could become like a different person after just one class.

Was she possessed???

Little did they know that the reborn Tang Xiaorou had already decided to find someone who truly liked her this time.

Tang Xiaorou, who had originally planned to go outside during break to relax, had her steps interrupted by these two. Seeing them dumbfounded, she snorted coldly and continued walking towards the door.

But for some unknown reason, Jiang Xinxin reached out to grab Tang Xiaorou, shouting: “No! You can’t leave!”

Having already been suppressing her emotions, Tang Xiaorou finally exploded. She shook her arm free from Jiang Xinxin’s grip with such force that the latter’s arm flew back and hit Su Yingying’s face.

“I said it! Su Yingying! I don’t like you anymore!”

Turning around gracefully, Tang Xiaorou felt relieved at that moment, but before she could take a step, she met someone who was peeping into the classroom from the doorway, with just their little head showing.

Her eyes immediately lit up as a long-sealed memory surged in her mind.

Yu Chuyao, Tang Xiaorou could still remember the girl’s name. The impression she left was too deep to forget.

Being stared at like this, Yu Chuyao seemed somewhat scared and quickly withdrew her head. Now the previously composed Tang Xiaorou couldn’t maintain her calm anymore, and quickly walked out, wanting to pursue this figure that had caught her attention.

Fortunately, the other person was small in stature, half a head shorter than Tang Xiaorou, and hadn’t gone far before she was caught. The two faced each other in the corridor, both with countless thoughts running through their minds.
