Shen Qiuci watched from the side as Madam Ning’s face turned red with anger after hearing Lu Yan’s remarks.
However, she couldn’t argue further.

While they were exchanging toasts, Lu Yan’s hand under the table wasn’t idle. Shen Qiuci sat next to him, her face flushed, and her eyes looked hazy, as if she was drunk.

Just then, someone grabbed her waist from behind.

“Madam Pei, slow down.” Shen Qiuci turned her head and saw Lu Yan’s lecherous eyes through her hazy, drunken gaze. “Eldest Young Master Lu…”

The soft and weak call sent shivers down Lu Yan’s spine. He trembled and pulled Shen Qiuci closer, asking: “Madam Pei, are you feeling unwell?”

“Uh-huh…”

“No worries, let me take you somewhere to relax.” Lu Yan smiled lewdly and supported Shen Qiuci as they quickly navigated through the courtyard.

Shen Qiuci noticed that the route Lu Yan chose had not a single guard in sight. Indeed, no one knew the layout of the Minister’s mansion better than Lu Yan, and no one knew how to avoid the guards and leave no trace better than him.

After a few twists and turns, they entered the inner courtyard, and Lu Yan pulled Shen Qiuci into a room at the far end, locking the door behind them.
