Chapter 64 My Husband Is So Handsome

Early the next morning, staff from the luxury boutique personally delivered the garments to their doorstep. A young man in a suit, wearing white gloves, smiled as he presented the gift box with both hands.

“Hello, this is the evening gown Young Master Lu reserved.”

Song Shimu accepted it in surprise, turning to ask Lu Zhijin, “When did you place the order?”

“I had Chen Sheng arrange it last night.”

Lu Zhijin led Song Shimu to sit down, carefully filling in her eyebrows. “You don’t need to worry about anything. Just treat it as going to watch a clown performance.”

Since it was merely a class reunion that didn’t warrant excessive effort, they had chosen a relatively casual evening gown – a pink-and-white princess dress with a nipped-in waist design at the back, tied with a beautiful bow. Song Shimu wore her hair in a half-up style with curls cascading beside her neck, resembling a princess who had stepped out of a comic book.

Lu Zhijin wore a black shirt with gray suit pants, the shirt collar unbuttoned to reveal his sexy collarbones, exuding an aura of restrained elegance throughout.

Lu Yike had also been meticulously dressed in suspender trousers, his little curls neatly styled, carrying himself with remarkable confidence.

“I must help Mommy teach that bad guy a lesson!”

Father Song and Mother Song were amused by his adorable demeanor, hugging him close and planting two kisses on his cheeks.

A luxury car was parked downstairs of Song Shimu’s residence, drawing curious onlookers from the neighborhood. Song Shimu turned to look at Lu Zhijin in astonishment once more. “When did you drive the car here?!”

“Chen Sheng arranged it.”

“Having Chen Sheng is like possessing a treasure! How much are you paying him that he’s so dedicated?”

“Hmm—” Lu Zhijin frowned in thought. “Chen Sheng’s annual income probably exceeds the total assets of your foolish classmate.”

The gathering was held at a restaurant that Chen Sheng had already made arrangements with in advance. Seeing Lu Zhijin arrive, the hotel manager personally came to receive them.

The private room was located at the inner end of the corridor. Before they even reached the door, they could hear Tang Shuo holding forth loudly. Even without seeing his face, one could tell he must be looking immensely pleased with himself.

“Who in G City doesn’t know my Tang family? How dare anyone show off in front of me?”

“Let me tell you all, that aloof Song Shimu from back then is nothing now! She keeps contacting me, trying to win back my affection, but it’s too late!”

“Our Mu Mu’s standards are far from that low.”

A deep, powerful voice suddenly cut through. Lu Zhijin pushed the door open, his expression cool and detached, his frosty eyes completely unruffled.

Everyone stared in shock at the sudden appearance of the family of three. Song Shimu had become even more beautiful and captivating than she was in high school, as if steeped in honey – sweet and dazzling.

The man she was holding arms with had handsome, regular features, more good-looking than any celebrity, with a noble bearing like a model. The little milk bun in his arms appeared clever and adorable.

“Well, Song Shimu, you actually came. I thought you’d be too ashamed to show your face.”

Tang Shuo sat in the seat of honor, his loose suit jacket hanging open, looking thoroughly roguish with mocking eyes.

“If I hadn’t come, how would I have heard your speech? You must have been badmouthing me behind my back all these years.”

Tang Shuo looked somewhat uncomfortable. “I was just telling everyone the truth.”

“What truth? The bitter resentment after being unable to get what you wanted? Or making up stories to protect your useless pride?”

Song Shimu held Lu Zhijin close and said, “The man I love is like this. How could you ever compare?”

“What did you say?!” Tang Shuo gritted his teeth and slammed the table in agitation.

“Alright, alright, let’s keep this reunion pleasant,” someone stepped in to mediate.

“Shimu, what have you been up to these years? Are you married with a child now? Aren’t you going to introduce us?”

“This is my husband, Lu Zhijin, and this is my son, Lu Yike,” Song Shimu introduced with a smile, her eyes filled with deep affection.

“Your husband is so distinguished, and your little one is absolutely adorable.”

“Thank you all for taking care of Mu Mu in the past. If any of you ever come to Haishi, feel free to reach out if you need anything,” Lu Zhijin nodded slightly.

“Hah!”

Tang Shuo let out a scornful laugh, crossing his arms with a look of disdain.

“What could you possibly help with? Treating someone to a street stall meal? Don’t think renting a nice suit suddenly elevates your status.”

“Mr. Tang seems quite skeptical?” Lu Zhijin feigned a troubled expression.

“Eww—Mom, this sashimi isn’t fresh.”

Lu Yike pouted in complaint.

“Kid, you’ve probably never had anything this good before. Sashimi is supposed to taste like this, you country bumpkin!”

“What right does a frog in a well like you have to criticize me!”

Lu Yike glared defiantly at the man across from him. “This sashimi is clearly farm-raised and has been transported for at least two days—it’s not fresh at all. If you want to taste truly excellent fish, you should try Himi Kanburi or Ikan Sultan. But by the look of you, I doubt you’ve ever had either.”

Everyone at the table wore varied expressions, all staring in astonishment at the little boy who spoke so confidently. The little fellow looked no more than four or five years old, yet he knew so much.

Tang Shuo’s face flushed with embarrassment, and he retorted stubbornly, “What does a little brat like you know!”

“I know plenty! I know your suit is a no-name brand, and your companion’s necklace is fake. You don’t know anything, yet you dare insult my mom? You big dummy!”

Lu Yike’s limited vocabulary could only muster this one insult. His little face, even when scolding, held no intimidation—instead, it was rather endearing.

Song Shimu gently stroked his curly hair, her heart warmed. Her precious boy was defending his mother’s honor.

“Song Shimu, what kind of son have you raised! He’s just as unreasonable as you!”

Tang Shuo was furious, his anger fueled by the exposure of his insecurities. The busty woman beside him blushed and paled alternately.

“My wife has raised our son very well. It’s understandable if you’re inexperienced, but Mr. Tang, perhaps you shouldn’t act so high and mighty next time.”

Lu Zhijin lifted his glass and took a small sip of red wine, finding it bitter. “The wine isn’t great either. Good thing I had someone bring a bottle.”

“Hah! This wine costs thirty thousand a bottle! Do you even have any taste?”

Lu Zhijin curled his lip. “No wonder it tastes so bad.”

Just then, the private room door knocked, and a middle-aged man in a suit walked in.

“Dad, what are you doing here?” Tang Shuo stood up, frowning in confusion.

The middle-aged man was equally puzzled to see him. “What are you doing here?”

His eyes then caught sight of the exceptionally distinguished man by the door, and they immediately lit up. Bowing humbly, he hurried over to greet him.

“Young Master Lu, I heard you were in G City and specially brought some fine wine for you. You must give it a try.”

As soon as these words were spoken, the entire room erupted in an uproar. Everyone present at the banquet were residents of G City, and no one failed to recognize this middle-aged man—Tang Zhongtian, the city’s wealthiest man. He was actually bowing and scraping to Song Shimu’s husband!

Just what kind of background did this Lu Zhijin have?!

Tang Shuo was also shocked, seemingly unable to believe what he was seeing.

“Dad, what are you doing? Why are you bringing him wine!”

“Bastard! How dare you speak to Young Master Lu like that!” Tang Zhongtian’s face was stern, his wrinkles deep-set, and his gaze sharp.

“What Young Master Lu? What are you talking about?”

Tang Shuo’s expression was uneasy. Someone nearby tugged at his sleeve and showed him the information they had looked up on their phone. The screen displayed Lu Zhijin’s Baidu Encyclopedia entry.

Tang Shuo’s eyes widened instantly, and he swallowed nervously. Was this really the Young Master Lu who was renowned throughout the country?

“Young Master Lu—”

Tang Shuo’s confidence wavered.

“Mr. Tang, let’s save the wine for another time. Your son has repeatedly offended my wife. I need to make sure she’s happy first.”

“Young Master Lu, it’s all a misunderstanding…”

After saying this, Lu Zhijin took Song Shimu’s hand and walked away without looking back, leaving behind a dashing figure.

This matter was far from over. How could he let those who bullied his wife off so easily? He had already ordered Chen Sheng to handle the situation. In less than a week, the Tang family would have no place left in G City.

The police had also been notified. Tang Shuo had been involved in organizing gambling, prostitution, and even drug abuse over the years. He would spend the rest of his life behind bars.

The high school group chat instantly exploded with activity, everyone discussing Song Shimu’s situation.

Once outside, Song Shimu stood on her tiptoes and kissed Lu Zhijin, her eyes curved into happy crescents, her smile radiant.

“My husband is so handsome when he stands up for me.”

“No one gets to bully Lu Zhijin’s woman.”

“Mom, what about me!”

Lu Yike raised his little hand, seeking praise. Song Shimu laughed and kissed the chubby cheek of her little dumpling.

“My precious did the best! Mom loves you so much!”

How wonderful—she had two bodyguards, always protecting her.
