Chapter 37: The Wedding of the Century

On a sunny afternoon, Lu Zhijin and Song Shimu’s wedding finally took place amid great anticipation. The Lu family flew everyone to the wedding island on their private jet.

The island boasted an elegant environment and fresh air. Lu Zhijin had arranged for the entire island to be meticulously decorated. Upon disembarking, guests were greeted by wedding photos of Lu Zhijin and Song Shimu. However, given the intense summer sun, the ceremony was scheduled indoors.

At the island’s center stood a tall, magnificent European-style building exuding romance and solemnity. Its lofty entrance hall and imposing gate, arched windows along the corridors, and stone masonry at every corner all radiated luxury.

Song Shimu sat quietly in the dressing room, gazing tenderly at the person before her. Lu Zhijin stood in front of her, applying her makeup with tools. No other staff were present in the room.

Her initial skepticism vanished completely when Lu Zhijin confidently and calmly began applying foundation with a powder puff.

His technique was natural and professional, the makeup brushes obeying his skilled hands. His expression remained focused, his eyes consistently filled with affection.

How did you improve so much? Song Shimu asked curiously.

I studied under a master specifically for today, Lu Zhijin replied, steadily drawing the desired curve with an eyeliner in his left hand.

I want to be part of every memory on this, your happiest day.

So even for something as minor as makeup, he refused to entrust it to others—this was Lu Zhijin’s unique brand of romance.

Song Shimu observed herself in the mirror: her makeup was flawless, her features exquisite, her skin fair and radiant. Beneath willow-leaf eyebrows were beautiful almond-shaped eyes, her nose pert and adorable. The bitten-lip makeup enhanced her overall vibrant charm.

Lu Zhijin stood behind her, admiring his masterpiece with satisfaction. He bent down and whispered near Song Shimu’s ear:

I’m going to change clothes. In one hour, we’ll be husband and wife in every sense.

When the time came, all guests had arrived. A renowned German pianist emotionally played the wedding march. The tall doors swung open from outside, a beam of light illuminating the day’s protagonists.

Song Shimu stood proudly at the entrance like a fairy-tale princess, stepping to the rhythm of the music as she walked toward her prince.

She wore a unique diamond wedding dress created by an Italian designer—magnificent and elegant throughout. Layers upon layers of pure white tulle formed the skirt, adorned with sparkling gemstones. The bodice featured soft, smooth silk fabric spirally embellished with hand-sewn white roses. A half-palm-width diamond belt cinched her waist, while a three-meter train spread across the white marble floor.

With determined eyes, Song Shimu advanced steadily toward her happiness, wearing a crown veil and a massive pink gemstone pearl necklace around her neck.

Lu Zhijin stood in a tailored white handmade suit, a blooming rose pinned to his chest, gazing at his woman with astonished delight.

Song Shimu was breathtakingly beautiful!

This was the only thought in Lu Zhijin’s mind—Song Shimu was the most beautiful bride in the world, and he must be the happiest man alive.

Instead of waiting passively, Lu Zhijin eagerly strode forward to meet his little princess. Before everyone’s eyes, he took Song Shimu’s hand and led her to the altar.

Song Shimu had never been here before, nor had she ever seen a wedding venue. Lu Zhijin had meticulously arranged the site in her favorite starry universe theme. Above them was a simulated starry sky ceiling, with galaxies in motion and occasional shooting stars streaking across.

Amid the expectant and admiring gazes of the crowd, the two exchanged their vows.

Mu Mu, before meeting you, I never imagined how beautiful love could be. I ate alone, slept alone, and grew through life alone, never finding anything amiss. But your presence made my life complete.

Suddenly, every morning became something to look forward to, every night brought peace to my heart.

You are like a beam of light, illuminating my barren existence and showing me another side of life. I remain grateful to fate for bringing us together and making you love me.

I swear on my honor as a soldier that I, Lu Zhijin, will love only Song Shimu in this lifetime. I will remain loyal to her, cherish her, and respect her until the end of my days.Tears glistened in Song Shimu’s eyes as she gazed tenderly at the affectionate man. Her voice trembled slightly as she spoke softly.

I was like a planet following its ordinary orbit until one day, a bright star intruded into this path, shielding me from all threats in the universe and taking me to see more beautiful sights.

Because of your appearance, even the unchanging cosmic wilderness became fascinating to me, down to every speck of dust.

A Jin, thank you for coming into my life and making me Mrs. Lu.

I, Song Shimu, offer you my sincere heart. It will forever burn with passion, forever proclaim my love for you. This vow is for this lifetime only, and I will never regret it.

Moved by the heartfelt vows, Lu Yike, dressed in a little suit and leather shoes, solemnly carried the ring with bright, earnest eyes. The couple bent down to kiss his cheeks. His grape-like eyes reflected the sacred wedding—he was witnessing his parents’ happiness firsthand.

Lu Zhijin and Song Shimu exchanged rings. The sparkling diamond rings mirrored their love—pure and clear. At this moment, witnessed by all, Song Shimu completely and wholly belonged to Lu Zhijin.

Unable to contain his excitement, Lu Zhijin wrapped his long arm around her slender waist and lowered his head to kiss Song Shimu. The venue immediately erupted into enthusiastic applause, while Father Song and Mother Song shed tears of joy below.

Countless lights shone upon the perfect couple, and the diamond-studded starry ceiling glittered brightly. This century wedding was watched globally, with netizens revealing that Song Shimu’s handmade wedding dress alone was worth billions, not to mention the luxurious setup of the venue. It was clear that Young Master Lu cherished Song Shimu deeply, holding her close to his heart.

After the wedding ceremony, the island embraced dusk, with vibrant sunset hues casting over the beach. Lu Zhijin hosted a beach bonfire party, allowing tired guests to retreat to the hotel early to rest.

Song Shimu changed into a wine-red off-shoulder gown with a fringed back design. As she walked, the fringe swayed, revealing her fair and smooth back.

Lu Zhijin had invited DJs and musicians for accompaniment, creating a lively atmosphere. A grand wine tower adorned the tables as young men and women enjoyed the magnificent celebration together.

As deep night fell, a full moon hung in the dark sky, stars twinkling above. A gentle sea breeze brushed against them, dispelling the summer heat and restlessness.

Lu Zhijin was unusually elated, slightly intoxicated from drinking. His arm remained wrapped around Song Shimu’s slender waist, refusing to let her leave his sight for even a moment. Eventually, the alcohol tinted the corners of his eyes red, his gaze half-clear and half-dazed. He rested his chin on Song Shimu’s shoulder, calling her wife over and over again.

Wife.

Hmm.

Wife.

Yes.

Wife.

I’m here.

…

Lu Zhijin behaved like a childish kid, yet Song Shimu never tired of responding. Her beautiful lips curved into a smile as she gently raised her hand to caress his handsome cheek.

I finally married you. Lu Zhijin’s eyes sparkled brightly—he rarely showed such unreserved emotion.

Now everyone knows you’re my wife. No one else can ever lay claim to you!

Song Shimu chuckled softly, her heart melting into tenderness. Parting her red lips, she spoke with a voice like the mountain moon and valley breeze, soaking into Lu Zhijin’s tingling heart.

I’ll always belong to you alone. No one can take me away, because my eyes and heart are filled with only Lu Zhijin.

Not far away, the boisterous bonfire party continued, the crowd’s cheerful laughter forming a romantic backdrop. Under the vast, luminous moon and the shimmering reflection on the sea surface, Lu Zhijin gazed at his beautiful, gentle wife. In a husky voice, he declared his romantic vow.

Mu Mu, I love you.

Witnessed by the cosmos and nature, bathed in the glow of the full moon and stars, Lu Zhijin lowered his head and devoutly kissed his sacred, pure white moonlight.
