Chapter 108: Singing a Love Song Onstage

Manager Zhang arranged for staff to escort Lu Zhijin and Song Shimu to VIP seats with an unobstructed view, facing the stage directly without any visual barriers.

Right on schedule, the stage lights went out completely, prompting excited screams from fans that pierced through the stadium.

The glow sticks in their hands resembled stars in the night sky, cutting through the darkness with their faint yet powerful glow.

The voice of the SOT group echoed from the stage, a long-awaited and exhilarating sound.

“Hello everyone, we are SOT!”

The lights flashed on, illuminating the center of the stage where three strikingly handsome men appeared on the rising platform—tall with long legs and exquisite features.

They wore microphones, their eyes bright and corners of their mouths curved into smiles as they gazed toward the dark audience stands.

“Ahhhhhhh!”

“SOT! SOT! SOT!”

Fans below the stage screamed excitedly, their voices roaring like tidal waves, nearly drowning out all other sounds.

Infected by the crowd’s enthusiasm, Song Shimu also stood up excitedly, shouting and waving her glow stick.

Though Lu Zhijin didn’t quite understand the fervor, he fully respected his wife, carefully supporting Song Shimu to prevent her from losing her balance and falling.

The band struck up their instruments, and a surge of rhythmic music filled the air as clear, deep voices transmitted through the microphones to every corner of the stadium.

The scale of the live event was grand, and the fans, as if specially trained, formed a shocking chorus of ten thousand voices below the stage.

Their voices harmonized perfectly, becoming the backdrop for the SOT group’s performance.

The concert lasted two and a half hours in total. Concerned that the process might be too taxing, the organizers sent water and food to Lu Zhijin.

While others struggled to secure even one seat, a low table was placed in front of Lu Zhijin, laden with various exquisite snacks and dishes.

As the concert progressed into its latter half, the SOT group also grew tired. They went backstage to change into lighter shirts, under the stage lights, hinting at their toned upper bodies.

The shirts were tucked into suit pants, belts cinched tight, accentuating their slim waists and exuding an aura of restraint.

Fans continued to scream. The leader, Qu Xiao, flashed a captivating, mischievous smile and placed a finger to his lips.

“Shh—”

The venue immediately fell silent. Qu Xiao adjusted his in-ear monitor, a light sheen of sweat covering his face, with glistening sweat on his exposed collarbone and chest.

“Now we have an interactive segment. Let our cameraman randomly select a lucky audience member to come onstage and join us for the next song—’Summer Love Song.'”

Upon hearing this, the fans became exceptionally excited, each hoping to be the lucky one to get close to their idols.

Above the stage, a giant electronic screen shifted with the cameraman’s footage, and every fan waved enthusiastically.

The cameraman was playful, continuously swaying the camera, keeping everyone in suspense.

Swerving left and right, just as everyone wondered how much longer it would sway, the camera suddenly froze on a beautiful girl’s face.

She had delicate features and a stunning figure, her pretty eyes wide with surprise as she saw her face on the big screen, happily waving her hand.

Qu Xiao chuckled softly, his voice low and seductive.

“Let’s welcome this beauty to the stage to sing with us.”

Many fans felt a tinge of regret, looking enviously at the lucky chosen one.

The photographer seemed particularly fond of beautiful women, keeping the camera focused on the selected audience member and projecting her lovely face onto the large screen.

Song Shimu was overjoyed—she was going to sing a duet with her idol!

Beside her, Lu Zhijin’s expression darkened slightly. He crossed his arms, watching the excited young woman with clear displeasure.

Unexpectedly, Song Shimu waved naturally and confidently at the camera, then turned excitedly to embrace Lu Zhijin and plant a quick kiss on his lips.

The soft touch on his lips was fleeting, but amid the noisy background, Lu Zhijin still caught Song Shimu’s words clearly.

“Thank you for coming to the concert with me. I love you the most, hubby.”

Her slender figure bounced cheerfully as she headed toward the stage. Lu Zhijin was momentarily stunned, then touched his lips and broke into a helpless, doting smile.

The large screen captured the moment perfectly. The audience saw a face so handsome it could rival any male celebrity!

And that indulgent smile from the man just now had melted every girl’s heart.

A chorus of “Wow—” erupted across the venue.

That girl was just too lucky!

Not only was she beautiful, but she also had such a handsome, doting boyfriend. And now she was going on stage to sing with the SOT group—truly living her best life!

Qu Xiao stepped forward, guiding Song Shimu to the center of the stage where a white swing bench decorated with green vines stood.

Song Shimu took a seat. Qu Xiao signaled the band, and the opening notes of “Summer Love Song” began to play.

His clear, bright voice rose with the accompaniment. Qu Xiao sat at one end of the bench, gazing affectionately at Song Shimu as he sang—a sight that stirred envy among the fans.

Then a deep, resonant voice joined in from the other side. Li Youchen walked gracefully over and settled beside Song Shimu on the opposite end.

Surrounded by two such handsome men, Song Shimu couldn’t help but curl her lips into a smile.

Suddenly, a rose appeared before her, held by pale, slender fingers. Zhou Haoyang emerged from behind, leaning an arm against the back of the bench as if half-embracing her.

Song Shimu was delighted, the fans were thrilled—but Lu Zhijin was seething with jealousy.

Arms crossed, Lu Zhijin sat in the audience, his expression dark as he glared at the three men on stage who were shamelessly flirting with his wife.

His temples throbbed with anger, his face ashen. No amount of self-reassurance helped—all he could think of was pulling out a gun, with three perfect live targets right there on stage.

When the microphone was handed to Song Shimu, her sweet, clear voice flowed through the speakers—pure in tone and perfectly on key.

Her eyes remained fixed on one spot in the audience. Though the distance was great and she wasn’t sure if Lu Zhijin could see her gaze, she wanted to sing just for him.

“You are the dazzling Star of summer,”

“The one I love the most.”

“I’d flee with you to the Milky Way,”

“For a timeless romance.”

His irritation suddenly eased. With his sharp eyesight, he caught her gaze, and her sweet voice seemed to dance across his heart.

Lu Zhijin’s heart raced wildly; he could even hear its beat clearly. Spellbound, he watched the radiant woman on stage.

The sour atmosphere transformed into sweet, floating bubbles.

Even watching Qu Xiao hold his wife’s hand while singing a love song didn’t anger him as much anymore—because his wife’s eyes never strayed from him.

After the interaction ended, Song Shimu cheerfully ran off the stage and threw herself directly into Lu Zhijin’s arms, her eyes sparkling with tiny shards of light.

“Did it sound good, husband?”

Lu Zhijin gazed deeply at the petite woman in his embrace, his large hand encircling her slender waist as he lowered his head to kiss those tempting lips.

“It sounded wonderful—so much so that I wanted to rush onstage and elope with you.”

“I love you, so don’t be jealous. No one could ever shake your position in my heart.”

Song Shimu lifted her head and pressed a reverent kiss to the man’s soft lips.

Though this mouth always appeared vicious and unruly to outsiders, it was only soft and protective when facing her—always afraid she might get hurt.
