Chapter 30: Congratulations on Becoming the Apartment Manager
***
“I’m a staff member from the apartment management office, you met me this morning.”
The staff member bowed repeatedly to Eve, treating her as if she were someone of high status.
Eve felt slightly confused by this, after all, no matter how well she had filled out her application, it shouldn’t warrant such a fawning attitude from the woman before her.
This familiar obsequiousness was something Eve had just experienced in the principal’s office at the Church Academy.
“I’ve been waiting here specifically to tell you that congratulations, you’ve successfully been hired by the apartment management office as the sole manager of this building.”
“Starting immediately! Additionally, upper management has specially approved your request for a weekly salary of 10 silver coins, along with other benefits, performance bonuses, and rewards.”
Listening to the staff member’s words, Eve felt it was all rather sudden.
Although a weekly salary of 10 silver coins wasn’t particularly high, converting it to Eve’s previous life’s purchasing power, it was roughly equivalent to a monthly salary of 4,000 to 5,000 yuan.
But this job was leisurely.
While the title was apartment manager, there wasn’t much to manage. Just occasionally cleaning the hallways and corridors, and most of the time there wasn’t even any need to interact with the building’s residents.
After all, this was a high-end apartment in a prime location, and the quality of the residents was generally quite good.
Just like Qianzhi, who was a proper young lady, she wouldn’t cause Eve even the slightest trouble.
It was essentially like Eve could just live here without doing anything, just living her life while steadily receiving a living allowance each month.
There were even other benefit policies.
Just thinking about it made her happy, not because she got a job, but because she got a job where she could take it easy.
“Of course, if there’s anything you’re not satisfied with, you can always let me know.”
The staff member said enthusiastically.
“No, there isn’t. You’ve taken such good care of me, I don’t know how to thank you.”
“Please, don’t be so polite, this is all what we should do. From now on we’re family, I work at the apartment management office, if you need anything, come find me anytime! Anytime!”
The staff member kept bowing as she bid farewell to Eve, and she had even left Eve this week’s salary in advance.
A total of 12 silver coins, with 2 of them being a welcome gift that she had personally prepared for Eve’s employment.
Eve just didn’t quite understand why this staff member sister kept unconsciously glancing at Qianzhi behind her?
And when Eve turned her puzzled gaze toward Qianzhi, Qianzhi maintained her usual cold and frosty demeanor, showing no reaction.
No different from usual, showing no signs of anything unusual.
“She’s really a nice person.”
In the end, Eve could only attribute the staff member’s enthusiasm to her being a nice person.
“Well, that solves the work issue, congratulations.”
Qianzhi said coldly to Eve, who felt somewhat embarrassed, honestly she hadn’t done anything.
She had just filled out a form, and even that form was brought back by Qianzhi.
“I should thank you actually, thank you for encouraging me to submit the application.”
Otherwise, Eve would have just let the matter drop. After all, she had seen it with her own eyes this morning, the trash bins in the management office were filled with all sorts of application forms.
Even the applications that had been thrown in the trash had more rich and interesting content than Eve’s.
“If you want to eat my cooking in the future, just come over anytime.”
Eve smiled gently, she instinctively wanted to pat Qianzhi’s head, but considering that Qianzhi wasn’t as childish as Leah, she unconsciously held back.
When Qianzhi heard Eve say this, she just nodded slightly, maintaining her usual coolness.
But in her heart, she was already blooming with joy.
She wasn’t really an ice queen, she just rarely interacted with people and was shy about expressing her feelings.
At this moment, Qianzhi felt that Eve was simply gentle to her very core.
Just as gentle as her own mother!
