Chapter 146: The End

After several months passed, Zhou Zhou’s new instance was also designed.

The scale of this instance’s scene was very large, and a single person or two could not conduct internal testing, so Zhou Zhou invited many people he knew.

Eddie, Qian Le, Xue Li, and Ke Li were naturally included, and other players he had met while making the instance were also invited by Zhou Zhou, and even his schoolmates were not spared by Zhou Zhou.

Although dozens of people were curious about the new instance, they were more afraid, after all, none of the instances designed by Zhou Zhou before were easy to pass.

The new instance was called Amusement Park, a simple name, but those who understood Zhou Zhou knew that the simpler and better-sounding the name, the more difficult the instance would be.

With mixed feelings, they awaited the opening of the new instance. Xue Li, taking advantage of her good relationship with Zhou Zhou, couldn’t help but ask: “Zhou Zhou, can you give us some insight, at least let us know what’s inside?”

Zhou Zhou and Alvia stood together and said: “Just the facilities that any ordinary amusement park would have, everyone can play while finding the exit to clear it.”

It was like saying nothing.

Ke Li also inquired: “Will we be doing tasks together after entering, or will we be scattered? This is just an internal test now, there are no points for being eliminated or winning, so give us a hint, otherwise I’m a bit nervous.”

The others also echoed him.

Zhou Zhou thought for a moment: “Okay, after going in, everyone will be teleported to different locations, but each person will have a teammate, so don’t worry.”

“That’s good, I was just afraid of being alone.”

“Hopefully my teammate can fly me around.”

Before the others could continue to inquire about the situation inside the instance, the instance had already opened, and in an instant, dozens of people on the scene disappeared.

Zhou Zhou was teleported near the haunted house. He looked around, quickly pinpointed his location, and then started running towards his destination.

On the way, he occasionally encountered acquaintances, but before they could greet him, Zhou Zhou had already run far away like a gust of wind, leaving the players who were still waving their hands behind, wondering if they had seen wrong.

It seemed like Zhou Zhou had just whooshed by.

Zhou Zhou had something important to do today.

Alvia was teleported near the pirate ship. He took out the map in his hand and carefully identified it. This was a map that Zhou Zhou had secretly slipped to him before entering. The map was simple, only showing the approximate locations of various places, but one location on the map was prominently marked, specifically circled in red, afraid that he wouldn’t see it.

Could this be considered cheating? Alvia raised his eyebrows and headed towards the marked location following the map.

Xue Li found her teammate, she had been teleported onto the merry-go-round.

Who could have imagined opening their eyes to find themselves in such a place, almost falling off, but was pulled by someone nearby.

“Thank you, who are you?” Xue Li hugged the horse head tightly and turned to look at the young man sitting on the colorful little horse next to her.

The young man’s expression was strange: “I’m Zhou Zhou’s schoolmate, my name is Zhao Yijie.”

So why was he, a male, sitting on such a childish thing? And someone had even seen him.

“Hello, hello, I’m Zhou Zhou’s friend, Xue Li.”

Completely unfamiliar, the two looked at each other in awkward silence, accompanied by the constantly rotating little wooden horses and pleasant music, the atmosphere felt quite awkward.

There didn’t seem to be anyone else nearby, so were they a team?

Zhao Yijie couldn’t help but ask: “Should we get off this first?”

Xue Li’s expression was serious, waving her hand: “Wait.”

“What’s wrong?”

“You must be playing Zhou Zhou’s instance for the first time, right?”

Zhao Yijie didn’t understand: “It’s my first time playing, is there a problem?”

Xue Li, with the air of a veteran, said solemnly: “This is an instance designed by Zhou Zhou, you can’t take it lightly. If we carelessly touch something, it’s possible for both of us to be eliminated.”

Zhao Yijie: “Is it that difficult? What should we do now?”

As an experienced player, Xue Li consciously felt the need to lead the newcomer through the challenge: “Let me try getting off first and see if it triggers any mechnisms. If there’s no problem, then you can come down.”

“Okay.”

The merry-go-round hadn’t stopped rotating, so Xue Li had to seize the opportunity to jump off, rolling on the ground and crouching steadily. She then alertly fixed her gaze around.

Nothing happened.

Zhao Yijie was still asking: “Can I come down now?”

“Oh, yes.”

Xue Li stood up and calmly said.

Zhao Yijie was on the inside, nimbly stepping on the horse’s back and jumping forward, landing steadily next to Xue Li.

Xue Li stared at him expressionlessly, and Zhao Yijie saw a hint of gloom in her gaze, feeling self-conscious as he rubbed his nose: “Well, I’m a military academy student after all.”

Tacitly ignoring the matter, they originally wanted to leave, but after walking around for a while, they couldn’t get out and kept circling the merry-go-round.

The experienced Xue Li immediately guessed that they might have to trigger a plot before they could leave, and the two immediately began searching for the trigger mechnism around them.

“Found it.” Zhao Yijie pointed at the merry-go-round and said.

“Where, where?” Xue Li still couldn’t see it.

“There’s a line of text written on the side of that pink little horse.” Zhao Yijie pointed from a distance, and the little pink horse, which had already made a circle, rotated back in front of them.

There were indeed words, but before Xue Li could see what was written, the little pink horse had turned away again. Xue Li could only follow the wooden horses, tilting her head to read the words.

“It’s no use, I’m getting dizzy.”

Zhao Yijie: “Doesn’t it say on there that two people need to sit on the merry-go-round, and after rotating a hundred times, they can get a clue?”

“You could read it clearly?!”

“Couldn’t you see it at a glance?”

Xue Li: “…Okay, military academy students are just awesome.”

The two had just gotten off the merry-go-round, and now they had to get back on. It was fine for Zhao Yijie, as getting on and off was easy for him, but Xue Li had to hug one of the horses and climb up.

Originally thinking that a hundred rotations would be easy, just a leisurely spin.

But after they got on, the speed of the merry-go-round varied erratically, sometimes fast and sometimes slow.

When it was fast, the people turned into blurs, and the entire merry-go-round would also drift up and down.

“Yue~” Xue Li felt she was going to be dizzy.

Sitting on the wooden horse behind Xue Li, Zhao Yijie panicked: “Sister, hang in there, don’t puke!”

Otherwise, at this speed, the vomit would easily drift over to him!

“I’m, trying, to hold it in! Yue~”

After barely completing a hundred rotations, with Zhao Yijie’s help, Xue Li got off the merry-go-round feeling dizzy.

“I held it in, didn’t puke.”

With her feet on solid ground, Xue Li felt the world spinning.

Zhao Yijie, on the other hand, was fine, as the various training at school was much more difficult than this. While supporting Xue Li, he looked around: “Sister, didn’t we just complete a hundred rotations? Why hasn’t the clue appeared yet? Wait, the words on the wooden horse have changed, it says we didn’t follow the instructions

Xue Li froze: “What?”

After discussing, the two guessed that they might need to sit on the same two little wooden horses they had entered on, and couldn’t switch positions randomly.

Xue Li: “…Let me catch my breath before going back up, otherwise I really will puke.”

While these two were still sitting on the merry-go-round, on the other side, Ke Li was almost crying. Who could have imagined that his teammate would be the resentful woman!

Ke Li had also recently become an intermediate player, but he still hadn’t designed a new instance.

He had previously learned from Zhou Zhou that this strangely-looking girl was also a real player, Zhou Zhou’s friend. But he had heard about her achievements from Qian Le and Eddie. Now he had to go through the challenge with this terrifying real NPC as his teammate, making him feel uneasy.

“You, hello, I’m Ke Li.”

Mo Lan was also invited by Zhou Zhou for internal testing. As the number of intermediate players gradually increased, more and more players knew about her. Some players even invited her to go through instances together or to be an NPC in their instances.

“Hehe, I’ve heard of you.” The soulless black eyes looked at Ke Li, and Mo Lan tried to show a friendly smile.

Ke Li: Oh my god, I’m even more afraid now. Is she really my teammate? Why do I feel like she’s here for revenge?

Meanwhile, Duan Yu, standing in front of the haunted house, looked at the man beside him with confusion: “Are you also a player?”

The man, with a ferocious appearance and covered in scars, seemed to rarely interact with strangers. Upon hearing the question, he was a bit shy: “I’m Locke.”

With a sturdy, scar-covered body, he looked quite intimidating at first glance. But this impression was ruined by the man’s slightly shy expression. Instead, it was Duan Yu who arrogantly tilted his chin and said in a dismissive tone: “Since you’re also Zhou Zhou’s friend, I won’t say anything. Just follow me closely, I’ll take you through to the end.”

Locke looked up at the terrifying molds outside the haunted house, then back at Duan Yu and nodded vigorously like a little chick pecking at rice, before following behind him into the haunted house.

A moment later, howls and wails echoed from inside the haunted house.

“Ghost!!!”

Duan Yu, gripped tightly by the collar of his shirt from behind, was almost choked to death: “Damn it, let go of me! Just a dummy scared you like this, how embarrassing for a man.”

“Wuwuwu~ I don’t want to.” The tall man, struggling to hide behind Duan Yu, shook his head and whimpered, looking absolutely terrified.

Duan Yu was furious. He wasn’t used to such close physical contact with men. Of course, if it were Zhou Zhou, he would definitely hold him in his arms and comfort him. But now, behind him was a man taller, burlier, and more cowardly than him. Most importantly, he was ugly.

“Let go!”

Being among the top ranks in the mech department, Duan Yu was also very strong. With a forceful push, the man behind him was “gently” knocked to the ground.

Something rolled towards Duan Yu’s feet.

The lighting in the haunted house was poor. Duan Yu looked down carefully, and an ugly, haggard crying face was right at his feet. Realizing Duan Yu was looking at him, Locke struggled to turn his head, facing Duan Yu, and cried out to him: “So scary.”

Duan Yu felt a chill run down his spine, a cold sensation rushing from the soles of his feet to the top of his head, and every hair on his body stood on end in an instant.

“F***!!!”

The two players at each location were struggling to clear the instance, while Alvia was shuttling alone through the amusement park, finally arriving at his destination.

The surroundings were silent. Alvia looked up at the huge silver Ferris wheel and slowly approached it.

The wheel rotated slower and slower until it stopped.

The cabin door at the very bottom automatically opened, and Zhou Zhou inside was happily waving.

Alvia went in, and immediately the Ferris wheel started moving again, rotating slowly.

The Ferris wheel lit up one light after another from the bottom, the entire wheel becoming increasingly bright, its silver-white glow enveloping it in a sacred radiance, beautiful and holy.

The cabin was also illuminated by the silver glow. Standing in the center, Zhou Zhou was draped in this radiance, even his facial expression becoming gentler.

“I came here and sat on the Ferris wheel alone before. Although it felt pretty good, at that time I was alone, filled with trepidation and fear towards the unknown world. But now, I’ve finally waited for you.”

Zhou Zhou took out a silver-white ring, the design identical to the mech ring given as a reward in the real world.

“You gave me a ring in the real world, so now are you willing to accept this ring in the virtual world?”

Alvia stood in front of Zhou Zhou, and almost immediately, he stretched out his hand: “I’m willing.”

Zhou Zhou carefully put the ring on Alvia’s finger.

At this moment, the cabin they were in had reached the highest point. Suddenly, a brilliant and gorgeous firework bloomed in the sky, the huge, beautiful firework illuminating the entire sky, illuminating Zhou Zhou and Alvia’s smiling faces, and that silver ring.

Alvia stroked Zhou Zhou’s hair: “I originally wanted to put that ring containing the mech on your finger myself. But I thought that as your abilities improve later on, you’ll have to continue changing mechs, and the ring would need to be changed too, so I didn’t act on it. But now you’ve taken the lead.”

“So are you happy? Do you like it?” Zhou Zhou held the ring on his middle finger, as if he would slip it off if Alvia’s answer was incorrect.

Alvia held back a smile: “I like it.”

The fireworks outside continued, one after another. The two looked out the window together, quietly enjoying the view.

Suddenly, a small figure squeezed between them, Zeus standing on tiptoe and peering out the window to watch the fireworks with them.

Zhou Zhou didn’t say anything, only smiling as he stroked Zeus’s head. Alvia lifted Zeus to the side.

Zeus rolled his eyes at him, but didn’t intentionally cause trouble at such a moment, continuing to cling to the window and look outside.

The Ferris wheel turned round after round, the three enjoying the warm and beautiful moment, and the brilliant fireworks outside.

Alvia suddenly said: “Isn’t the Ferris wheel getting faster?”

The Ferris wheel, which had started rotating slowly and steadily, was speeding up, now spinning very quickly, the huge wheel forming a silver-white ring of light.

Zhou Zhou blinked: “We came in as players, and each amusement ride is a challenge. We have to get out, otherwise the space inside the cabin will keep getting smaller until we become paper-thin.”

Alvia laughed wryly: “Okay then, it seems we still have to keep going through the challenges.”

Zhou Zhou and Alvia prepared to jump out of the Ferris wheel cabin, while players in other areas were also struggling to clear the instance. Screams, shouts, and calls for teammates echoed throughout the amusement park, making it sound quite lively.
