Chapter 125: New Love Academy 3

The dormitory building was closed, and how to enter was a problem.

At first, when the NPCs entered, some players wanted to sneak in, but were rejected by the dorm manager and even thrown out, so they had to slip in when the dorm manager was not paying attention.

“If you ask me, there’s no need to be so troublesome. Just take down the two dorm managers, and we can all get in,” said one player.

By using their combat power to suppress them, there were so many of them, how could they not defeat two dorm managers?

“But if we attack the dorm managers, will it deduct our affection levels?”

“You’re silly, your romance target isn’t the dorm manager. Even if it’s deducted, it won’t affect you.”

Some players were prepared to use force to enter, while others were searching nearby for any windows they could enter from. Alvia looked at the gradually darkening sky and felt they couldn’t wait any longer.

Zhou Zhou was probably really going to sleep in the dorm.

He walked to the front door and gently knocked a few times. The other players, seeing Alvia take the lead, didn’t think this method would work since players who tried to enter before were thrown out.

The closed door opened a crack, revealing half of the female dorm manager’s face from the gap. She drooped her eyes, clearly displeased at being disturbed.

“What do you want?” she asked.

“To go in and have a date with my boyfriend,” Alvia said directly.

The dorm manager looked Alvia up and down, then opened the door wider. “Go in then, but don’t stay too long.”

“Thank you.” Alvia appeared cold and aloof, but his demeanor was very elegant. Under the gazes of the many players, he calmly walked in.

When the door closed again, the players were dumbfounded. So that’s all it took to get in? It was that simple?

A player who had been thrown out by the dorm manager earlier had an indescribable expression on his face. Why was he thrown out when he tried to enter, but these NPCs seemed to judge based on appearances?

Some quick-reacting players immediately went up and knocked on the door, saying they wanted to go on a date with their boyfriends or girlfriends. Strangely, this time the dorm manager didn’t let them in directly but said she needed to call and ask first.

Then the players saw the dorm manager pull out an old-fashioned red desk phone from somewhere, dial a few numbers, and ask, “Your boyfriend wants to come see you.”

After the person on the other end of the line said something, the dorm manager nodded expressionlessly and told the player at the front of the line, “You can go in.”

The player excitedly went inside.

Afterward, each person went through the same process, but a few players were denied entry.

“She said for you, that scumbag, to go die,” the dorm manager told a player whose affection level was in the negatives.

“He said you’re just ordinary friends,” she told a player whose affection level was only ten.

“She’s asking who you are,” she said to a player who didn’t know what they were doing and had zero affection level after raising it for a while.

Basically, players whose affection levels were above fifteen percent were allowed in, while the rest could only watch helplessly as the door closed again.

On the right side of the lobby was the communication room, where the male dorm manager sat expressionlessly behind the glass window, staring at them with an icy gaze that made the excited players hush their voices.

One player kept looking at the female dorm manager by the entrance. A nearby player patted his shoulder and teased, “What’s wrong, you’ve taken a liking to her?”

“Of course not,” the player rolled his eyes, then wondered aloud, “By the way, that old desk phone should be connected to a power source, but there’s nothing attached to it.”

“Well, it’s just a game after all. It’s impressive enough that they can recreate things from thousands of years ago to some degree.”

“I guess so.”

Alvia, the first one to enter, had already disappeared, while the players who came in after him also scattered to search for their romance targets.

Each floor of the building had fifteen rooms, and there were eight floors in total, so it would take a lot of time to find their romance targets. The time left for them was limited, so they had to hurry.

The players set off, while Alvia had already arrived at Zhou Zhou’s room door. As soon as he entered, he asked the male dorm manager for Zhou Zhou’s room number, and the seemingly gloomy man promptly told him.

The hallway was eerily quiet, despite the many NPCs who had entered earlier. Not a single person was wandering around, and all the dorm room doors were tightly closed.

Alvia knocked lightly on the door, but the sound was surprisingly loud, as if echoing through the entire hallway.

“Come in,” Zhou Zhou’s voice came from inside.

Alvia pushed open the door. Light blue curtains caught his eye, and Zhou Zhou sat facing the window at a desk, seemingly busy with something and with his back to the door.

After scanning the room, Alvia finally felt relieved, this was a single room with only one bed.

“What are you doing?” Alvia closed the door and walked towards Zhou Zhou.

Zhou Zhou did not respond, his head lowered as he focused on fiddling with something in his hands.

Alvia took a few steps forward and finally saw the items on the desk, a bunch of bottles and jars. But when his gaze shifted to Zhou Zhou’s face, his eyes widened abruptly…

On the other side, as the players frantically searched for their romance targets like headless flies, one lucky player found his NPC on the first floor.

His romance target was a girl named Iris, elegant and intellectual, with a gentle personality. His affection level with her had already reached fifty percent, so with a bit more effort, he should be able to complete the mission.

Iris, with her back to him, sat at a desk. Her long, glossy black hair fell to her waist, and she seemed to be putting on makeup, with some unrecognizable brands of cosmetics and a mirror on the desk.

“Iris, would you like to go out and see the night scenery?” the player asked as he approached her.

Facing the mirror, Iris put down the eyebrow pencil in her hand and turned her face slightly. “Do we have to go out?”

Her voice was equally gentle and clear, causing the player to exclaim that Zhou Zhou had done an excellent job with the characters in this instance. No wonder he was still the top intermediate player, just look at the scenes here and these NPCs, they were far better than the outrageous dating games nowadays.

“Not necessarily. You can choose where you want to go play, or we can just chat here,” the player said considerately.

Iris slowly turned her head, revealing a flawless, pale left side of her face, with gentle features that made everyone who saw her think she was a beautiful and elegant woman.

But when she fully turned around, the right side of her face, which should have been equally beautiful, had no skin. In the sunken eye socket, an eyeball constantly rolled, and red muscle fibers intertwined and spread out. Her teeth, with no skin to cover them, were fully exposed to the air.

The player, who had just been admiring how well the NPC characters were designed, could no longer smile.

The contrast between the two sides of her face was too stark, one side was a gentle, beautiful angel, while the other was a horrifying, bizarre demon.

The shock was too much, and the player froze on the spot, his mind going blank.

Iris didn’t seem to notice his shock and gave him a slight smile. “Then please wait a moment, I haven’t finished putting on my makeup.”

The muscle fibers on the right side of her face constantly twitched as she spoke, and even the movement of her teeth and tongue could be seen clearly.

The player stared blankly. “Huh? What? I think I’ve entered the wrong room. Please go ahead with what you were doing, I’ll leave.”

He awkwardly left the dorm room. After closing the door, the player finally came to his senses, leaning against it with his hand over his chest. His heart was practically leaping out.

What was going on? What on earth happened? How could his gentle and intellectual Iris turn into that!

He wanted his original Iris back!

Who could continue romancing her after she was turned into that state?

If he hadn’t already experienced many instances and gained some immunity, he might have wet himself on the spot!

Hearing constant screams coming from upstairs, the player took a deep breath and decided to continue with the romance mission. After all, he didn’t come to the instance to actually fall in love, and he should wake up.

He opened the door. Iris, in a long dress, stood by the window. As a gentle breeze blew, she smoothed her hair back and asked concernedly, “What’s wrong? Why did you suddenly go out?”

What should have been a beautiful scene was turned into a horror movie because of that half of her face.

The player silently closed the door. Sorry, he needed some more time to mentally prepare!

After a few minutes, he finally opened the door again with a resigned expression and forced a smile. “I just remembered I had something to take care of, but it’s fine now.”

Iris leaned against the desk, her eyes downcast as her fingers traced the edge. “Are you disgusted by me? Do you not like me anymore?”

“No, no.”

“You said you loved me the most before, but now you’re already impatient and don’t even want to look at me.”

“I really did just have something to take care of earlier. I’m not impatient at all.”

“But it’s okay. Even if you don’t like me anymore, you can’t leave me.” Iris opened a drawer and took out a blood-stained knife. On the other, undamaged half of her face, a bizarre smile could be clearly seen.

The player: “…?”

Hey! How did the gentle and intellectual beauty turn into a yandere? What was this direction? How was he supposed to do the mission? His life was in danger.

“Oh, that’s right, we were going on a date, weren’t we? Let’s go on our date. I haven’t seen the nighttime scenery on campus yet, you can take me to see it.” The player hurriedly said.

Iris seemed to remember something, and her bizarre smile became calm again. “Oh yes, we were going on a date. Just wait a moment while I finish putting on my makeup.”

The player finally breathed a sigh of relief, having narrowly escaped death.

After a while, Iris stood up.

“I’m ready. Let’s go.” She held a white cotton cloth with a light brown stain on it. The other, previously undamaged half of her face now looked like the right side, with no skin on the entire face. Two massive eyeballs were set in the sockets, constantly rolling as if they might fall out at any moment.

Without the covering of skin and flesh, her teeth looked exceptionally ferocious.

Her whole appearance was like a skull still covered in flesh and blood, there was no resemblance at all to her original look.

This was putting on makeup? This was clearly taking it off! The player wanted to cry but had no tears.

He could only steel himself and take her out while holding her arm.

Iris’ affection level displayed above her head suddenly started rising, going from fifty percent to eighty percent.

A passing grade! The player felt a slight sense of relief.

Now he just needed to maintain this level before the date time arrived, being absolutely careful not to let it drop.

The two walked out of the dorm arm-in-arm. From behind, they looked like a perfect match, though the player’s gait was stiff as he struggled to keep his expression neutral.

In the hallway and on the stairs, they occasionally encountered players being chased, their romance targets looking more terrifying than the last. The frightened players rushed out the doors, only to be relentlessly pursued by the yandere NPCs.

Their affection levels had even turned negative.

Those people, it seemed, had no hope of passing. Their mental fortitude was really poor.

The player escorting Iris thought silently to himself.

On the other side, when Alvia saw Zhou Zhou’s face, his eyes widened instantly.

“Zhou Zhou, what are you…playing at?”

Zhou Zhou’s face had lost all its features – no nose, eyes, mouth, or ears, as if covered by a thick layer of skin. It looked extremely bizarre.

“Are you playing the egg game?” Alvia reached out and poked at Zhou Zhou’s face, which did resemble an egg.

Zhou Zhou had already guessed this would happen, but he had never seen Alvia afraid of anything.

He removed the skin from his face, wiggled his features, then finally complained, “You came in too early. I wasn’t done yet.”

“Done with what?”

Zhou Zhou pointed to the items on the desk. “Let me show you something cool.”

He opened a small box containing a pair of eyeballs the exact same color as his own. Incredibly, they even moved, constantly rolling as if observing the surroundings.

Another box held a nose, and another a mouth…

“What are you preparing to do?” Alvia asked.

“I was going to stick this skin onto my face and put all these features on too, so you’d still see me when you came in. Then, when you weren’t paying attention, I’d switch out some features or drop an eyeball. Wouldn’t that be interesting?”

Imagining Zhou Zhou with his mouth on his forehead and eyes flying all over his face, Alvia fell silent.

“You came in too early. I didn’t have time to set everything up, so now I can’t scare you,” Zhou Zhou said with some regret. “These are all custom-made to be exactly like my features.”

Thinking it over, Zhou Zhou decided to try it out anyway since he’d already bought everything and it would be a waste not to use them.

Ignoring Alvia’s mental images, Zhou Zhou reapplied the skin and carefully placed each feature in the proper position and depth, appearing before Alvia still looking like himself, just slightly rounder.

Zhou Zhou blinked his eyes a few times, unaccustomed to the feeling, then said to Alvia, “Let’s go out and take a look. I want to see how the other players are doing now and observe their reactions so I can improve the instance later.”

Alvia readjusted Zhou Zhou’s slightly crooked eyebrows, finding it both amusing and exasperating. It seemed Zhou Zhou had unleashed his true nature in this game and was taking things further and further.

The two left the room, and the hallway was lively with players being chased and NPCs with “distinctive” appearances.

As Zhou Zhou observed the fleeing players, discussing potential improvements with Alvia, a player suddenly came bounding up the stairs and nearly collided with him.

Fortunately, Alvia noticed in time and pulled Zhou Zhou into an embrace, avoiding a collision.

“Sorry, sorry, I didn’t see you,” the player quickly apologized to Zhou Zhou.

Though Zhou Zhou didn’t collide with the player, he ended up crashing his face into Alvia’s chest.

“Al! Oh no, my eye, I lost an eye!” Zhou Zhou called out in panic.

The player was confused. What did he mean he lost an eye?

Alvia looked down to see Zhou Zhou patting around blindly, the eye area now just empty sockets, the two eyeballs gone. One amber eyeball was stuck to Alvia’s chest, while the other dangled from Zhou Zhou’s shoulder.

“Al, help me find them. I can’t see right now,” Zhou Zhou said, looking up at Alvia.

Alvia gently plucked the eyeball stuck to himself and handed it to Zhou Zhou. “One is right here.”

Zhou Zhou put that eye back first, then turned to the player. “It’s okay, I’m fine.”

The player watched the whole scene in shock, mouth agape and speechless.

You’re the one who’s not fine here!

This guy is terrifying!
