Ye Wushuang didn’t dare to meet her gaze, afraid that Qiu Ruishi would discover the affection in her eyes. She subconsciously took out her phone to avoid Qiu Ruishi’s teasing.

“Has no one ever told you that you shouldn’t look at your phone when you’re talking to someone?” Qiu Ruishi was displeased. She hated this habit of Ye Wushuang’s. She always paid more attention to her phone than to her, a living person.

“Sorry, it’s a habit. I heard my phone vibrating just now. Look, it’s still vibrating.” Ye Wushuang apologized, explaining why she had taken out her phone. As she spoke, she didn’t look at the screen. She couldn’t tell what information was making her phone vibrate.

But she knew one thing: this vibration was helping her get through this difficult situation.

Qiu Ruishi’s expression was full of suspicion. She looked at the phone several times and said unhappily, “The phone isn’t vibrating.”

But Ye Wushuang’s convenient excuse didn’t work at all. Ye Wushuang was puzzled. She quickly wanted to put the phone in Qiu Ruishi’s hand so she could feel the vibration too.

“How is that possible? Look, it’s still vibrating.”

Qiu Ruishi was even more puzzled. She still grabbed the phone.

The vibration continued, but Qiu Ruishi didn’t seem to react to the phone’s vibration at all. It was as if she couldn’t see it.

“Ye Wushuang, is it possible that the vibration you’re feeling is something that we humans can’t feel?” Qiu Ruishi didn’t doubt Ye Wushuang. She even offered her own opinion.

This statement made Ye Wushuang suddenly realize. If it was something on the phone that she couldn’t see, then it must be the dating app.

But how come the phone’s prompts were now hidden? If she remembered correctly, Qiu Ruishi could still sense them before.

“Let me see.” Ye Wushuang’s doubts were no less than Qiu Ruishi’s. She took the phone back and saw a prompt that kept flashing.

[Congratulations, player, your dating app personal level has been upgraded to level 10.]

[Player XXX anonymously invited you to join the dating app official chat group.]

[Do you accept the invitation?]

Then, the blood-red characters kept flashing, as if they wouldn’t stop until Ye Wushuang clicked “confirm.”

She had heard that dating app players had established private groups, but this was the first time she had heard of the dating app’s official group. And who had invited her to join this group?

Ye Wushuang had more and more questions. She felt uneasy about this unknown thing. And she knew that if she went in, it would remind her with the words “[Player Ye Wushuang] has entered.” If that happened, it would be like throwing herself directly into a wolf’s den.

She hesitated. She decided to think carefully before deciding whether to join. She put the phone in her pocket. The vibration continued. Ye Wushuang charged it to prevent it from vibrating continuously and causing some kind of emergency that would make it unusable.

During this time, Qiu Ruishi kept staring at Ye Wushuang. She couldn’t understand why she kept looking at the phone screen, which only showed the time. She wouldn’t think Ye Wushuang was crazy. She just thought that the things Ye Wushuang always looked at were probably things she couldn’t see.

“What are you looking at?” Qiu Ruishi asked directly. Although she thought Ye Wushuang wouldn’t tell her the exact answer.

Ye Wushuang touched the vibrating part of the phone, looked up at Qiu Ruishi, who was asking her, but she didn’t know whether to tell her or not. According to the dating app’s rules, she couldn’t reveal any information, let alone explain the contents in detail.

But when miracles happened too many times, Ye Wushuang would have a sense of luck. Maybe the dating app’s rules were just a bluff. She had been through so much with Qiu Ruishi, the protagonist card, and she was still able to get away with it.

Maybe it wouldn’t be a problem even if she told Qiu Ruishi about the dating app.

Having made up her mind, Ye Wushuang organized her words, sat up straight, maintained a serious expression, and said earnestly, “Are you sure you want to hear this? Maybe if I tell you this secret, it will make your situation very dangerous.”

Ye Wushuang didn’t use any negatives or hypotheticals. She was certain that Qiu Ruishi’s several encounters were because of her. And now, if Ye Wushuang really told her, it might really cause Qiu Ruishi to suffer misfortune.

“It’s okay, tell me.” Qiu Ruishi didn’t seem to care. She wasn’t curious about the secret, but about Ye Wushuang’s attitude.

If Ye Wushuang told her, no matter what the secret was, she believed she could accept it and laugh, even if it really might hurt her.

“My phone has…” Ye Wushuang tried to tell her story about this strange phone, but she only got out a few words before her throat felt dry, as if something was tearing at her throat from the inside.

In just a few seconds, the burning sensation in her throat became even more obvious. Ye Wushuang’s voice was hoarse. She couldn’t even say the existence of the dating app. She couldn’t even make a sound.

Ye Wushuang realized that this was probably the effect of breaking the rules, so she chose to use the phone keyboard. Her throat didn’t get any better, and her hands and feet became stiff, as if her whole body was being struck by high voltage.

She began to tremble all over, her face pale, her strength completely drained. She was like a soulless body, so fragile and helpless.

‘I don’t want to do it anymore. I don’t want to think about it anymore, okay!’

Ye Wushuang told herself this in her heart. She immediately felt like she could breathe again, and the burning sensation in her throat eased a little.

Her stiff limbs gradually returned to normal. She felt like she had walked through the gates of hell.

“Why were you silent just now?” Qiu Ruishi didn’t seem to notice Ye Wushuang’s change. All she saw was Ye Wushuang sitting upright.

Ye Wushuang was startled. She just gave a wry smile.

“I wanted to tell you a secret just now, but if I tell you, I’ll die.” Ye Wushuang wiped the cold sweat from her forehead. Unconsciously, her whole body was soaked in cold sweat.

The feeling of death approaching still lingered in her heart, making it difficult for her to calm down. But Ye Wushuang was also certain that the dating app secret could only be shared and used between players.

If she told a normal human, the player would die instantly, and there would be no trace of death in reality.

“Then I’d rather not know.” Qiu Ruishi was becoming more and more confused, but seeing the fear and helplessness in Ye Wushuang’s eyes, she believed that Ye Wushuang was telling the truth.

“Thank you. It’s a good thing you’re smart.” Ye Wushuang was even more grateful. If Qiu Ruishi was unreasonable and prone to overthinking, she didn’t know how many unpleasant things she would have to deal with with Qiu Ruishi.

But Qiu Ruishi wasn’t like that. Not only was she very intelligent, but her EQ was also very high.

After saying this, Ye Wushuang leaned back in her chair. She suddenly didn’t feel like talking. The forced attempt to tell Qiu Ruishi about the dating app had almost taken her life.

“Tired?” Qiu Ruishi asked.

Ye Wushuang nodded lightly and slowly closed her eyes. Seeing her so unguarded, Qiu Ruishi smiled softly. She looked at Ye Wushuang’s increasingly delicate face and couldn’t help but reach out to touch it.

Her fingertips just touched the fair cheek when Qiu Ruishi realized how abrupt her action was. She quietly withdrew her hand.

“Can I touch your face?” Even in this situation, she didn’t forget her manners.

Ye Wushuang couldn’t help but open her eyes. She found Qiu Ruishi a little funny.

“You’re remembering your manners now? You don’t know how many unmannerly things you’ve done.” Ye Wushuang didn’t know how to judge Qiu Ruishi’s behavior. Sometimes she was elegant and beautiful, sometimes she was alluring and charming, and now, she was being cautious.

“I was just asking.” Qiu Ruishi smiled again. She felt strange herself. They were practically friends now, but for some reason, the closer they got, the more cautious she became.

She thought her behavior was too funny. She simply touched Ye Wushuang’s face with both hands without hesitation, observing Ye Wushuang’s obvious changes.

“Has your appearance changed?”

“No.” Ye Wushuang answered nervously. She knew very well that she had indeed become about 30% prettier.

“Do you think I’m Meng Xing? So easy to fool? Your… here, here, it’s all changed. How should I say it? It’s like you’ve become more refined.” Qiu Ruishi pointed to the places where Ye Wushuang had changed, describing every detail clearly.

Ye Wushuang looked at Qiu Ruishi in surprise. Even she wasn’t very clear about her appearance, but it was so clear in Qiu Ruishi’s mind. She couldn’t help but smile mischievously.

“I just have a photographic memory. I’m not paying attention to you.” Qiu Ruishi had already answered what Ye Wushuang was about to say. Ye Wushuang looked surprised. Qiu Ruishi continued, “I don’t have mind reading, but your expressions are too easy to understand.”

This time, she had perfectly guessed Ye Wushuang’s thoughts. Just one subtle expression from Ye Wushuang, and she knew what was coming next.

Ye Wushuang couldn’t help but sigh, “I’m afraid you’ll develop mind reading. You’ll become such a terrifying creature.”

Qiu Ruishi laughed as if she had heard a compliment.

“Huh? Am I not the most understanding beautiful girl in the world?”

“Does anyone call themselves a beautiful girl?”

“Aren’t I?” Qiu Ruishi responded with a smile. To show off her beauty, she even struck a seductive pose.

But it seemed like she moved too much. The new housekeeper’s gaze glanced over.

Ye Wushuang immediately noticed. She pulled Qiu Ruishi and made her sit properly in her seat.

“We’re still in the car. Safety first.” That’s what she said, but actually, Ye Wushuang didn’t want anyone to see Qiu Ruishi’s strange, seductive pose.

Qiu Ruishi couldn’t help but laugh. She also glanced at the new housekeeper and said softly, “This is his last day of work.”

“Huh, who are you talking about?”

“What do you think?” Qiu Ruishi leaned against Ye Wushuang’s shoulder, lazy like a cat, but definitely two levels above the fat cat in Ye Wushuang’s house.

She seemed alluring. When she got close, she not only had a body fragrance, but also a sweet scent of blood.

Ye Wushuang’s heart began to pound. She didn’t know if it was because of her desire for blood or something else.

She felt like, maybe because they hadn’t seen each other for a long time, Qiu Ruishi seemed even more beautiful now.

She subconsciously swallowed. She stammered as she continued the previous topic, “The new housekeeper?”

Qiu Ruishi nodded and closed her eyes, no longer talking to Ye Wushuang. Ye Wushuang didn’t dare to move. She could only look straight ahead. Through the rearview mirror, she saw the surprise in the new housekeeper’s eyes.

Of course, there was also that familiar disdain.

Ye Wushuang smiled at him, with her sympathy. This poor new housekeeper probably didn’t know that he would be the fastest housekeeper to be fired from the Qiu family.

But even so, it had nothing to do with Ye Wushuang. She closed her eyes too, resting her head lightly against Qiu Ruishi’s, enjoying the moment of peace…

This trip to the Qiu family was very peaceful. They didn’t encounter any obstacles along the way. Maybe it was because the junior reporter had disappeared, or maybe it was because of the approaching New Year, everyone was busy with their own affairs and didn’t have the time to deal with Ye Wushuang, the red name.

Ye Wushuang was carefree. She gently held Qiu Ruishi’s hand, enjoying the last bit of leisure time this year.

She hoped time would slow down… a little slower…

After about an hour, Ye Wushuang and the others reached their destination.

Because Qiu Ruishi’s older sister was there, Ye Wushuang couldn’t go through the front door. She parted ways with Qiu Ruishi at the entrance and wandered around, looking for a way in.

But she hadn’t been here for a long time, and the Qiu family’s bodyguards and cameras had clearly increased. There were alarms everywhere. Ye Wushuang was a little helpless, but for her now, a place full of digital products couldn’t stop her from entering.

With just a few flicks of her body, Ye Wushuang easily dodged the defenses at a speed that was completely invisible to the naked eye. She followed the window and tried to climb to the second floor.

But this time, Qiu Ruishi’s room was also tightly welded shut with iron bars. In other words, if Ye Wushuang wanted to enter this room, she had to enter through other means. Ye Wushuang was quite helpless, but she could only look for other shortcuts.

She circled the villa. Many places had been welded shut with bars. Her phone vibrated at this moment. Ye Wushuang looked down and saw a WeChat message from Qiu Ruishi.

[WeChat] Qiu Ruishi: I forgot to tell you, my sister has put up some defenses around the house.

[WeChat] Ye Wushuang: What is she defending against?

[WeChat] Qiu Ruishi: My sister said it’s to prevent stray cats. Did your cat do something bad recently?

[WeChat] Ye Wushuang: I think your sister isn’t talking about real cats. Stray cat is a metaphor.

[WeChat] Qiu Ruishi: What is a stray cat?

[WeChat] Ye Wushuang: Google it.

Ye Wushuang shook her head helplessly. Although it was a little narcissistic, for some reason, Ye Wushuang felt that Qiu Ruishi’s older sister was referring to her when she said “stray cat.”

But now that things had come to this, Ye Wushuang had to wander around, looking for a way into the room. She had to become a real stray cat.

The first floor, the second floor, the third floor, every place was tightly secured. There were even high-voltage wires installed. If you touched them, you would be electrocuted. This was so exaggerated that it didn’t seem like a protective measure. The more Ye Wushuang thought about it, the more suspicious it became. She felt that Qiu Ruishi’s older sister’s defenses were too extreme.

If it was to prevent her, in her ordinary form, from climbing in through the window, then a railing would be enough to stop her. But the way her room was set up now, it was like a defense against the abilities of a vampire.

She even doubted that the fat cat, and the sea eagle couldn’t get through.

When she thought of this, Ye Wushuang immediately denied it. Even if Qiu Ruishi’s older sister hated her, she couldn’t possibly be related to the dating app. It was just that she was overly concerned about her sister’s safety and was being so obsessive.

But this situation wasn’t completely unbreakable for Ye Wushuang. She just had to use blood summoning to wrap herself up, disguise herself as a maid, and she could easily enter and leave the room.

Thinking about this, she focused her attention on the house. After confirming that the maid, Xiao Mi, wasn’t on any of the floors, she walked in confidently.

Of course, Ye Wushuang was impersonating someone now, so she couldn’t be too obvious. She walked discreetly, praying that no one would notice her.

Qiu Ruishi’s older sister’s voice came from behind. Ye Wushuang’s body stiffened, but she still had to turn her head and respectfully call out, “Miss.”

“Didn’t you go back to your hometown? Why haven’t you left yet?” Qiu Ruishi’s older sister looked at “Xiao Mi” suspiciously, as if she didn’t understand why she was here.

Ye Wushuang was a little panicked, but she quickly thought of a solution. “I got the train time wrong.”

Qiu Ruishi’s older sister didn’t doubt her. She seemed very absent-minded. She said “oh” and then lowered her voice to say to “Xiao Mi,” “Is Ruishi still angry with me?”

Ye Wushuang was startled. Qiu Ruishi had never mentioned that she had argued with her older sister. Now, Ye Wushuang had to answer this question cautiously in Xiao Mi’s identity.

“Oh, I don’t know what’s so good about that Ye Wushuang. Ruishi just has to be friends with her. Really, she even argued with me. This is the first time I’ve heard Ruishi talk to me in such a loud voice… It’s like the only person in the world who’s good to her is Ye Wushuang.” Qiu Ruishi’s older sister began to act like a nagging old woman, endlessly complaining. This kind of Qiu Jeiyi was too fresh for Ye Wushuang.

She couldn’t help but look at Qiu Ruishi’s older sister a few more times. Qiu Ruishi’s older sister seemed to realize that she had said too much. Her voice turned cold. “Go check on Ruishi. The housekeeper said she brought a little mouse.”

Qiu Ruishi’s older sister said this through gritted teeth, clearly hating this “little mouse” with a vengeance. Ye Wushuang nodded nervously, but she also thought it was normal for the new housekeeper to snitch.

And now, she just had to use Xiao Mi’s identity to enter Qiu Ruishi’s room naturally. But compared to sneaking in, the feeling of being open about it was so good.

Ye Wushuang skillfully went upstairs and found Qiu Ruishi’s room, following her memory from last time. After knocking on the door, Qiu Ruishi naturally let her in. Without saying anything, she typed a line on her phone.

Ye Wushuang felt her phone vibrate. She didn’t have to think to know who Qiu Ruishi was sending the message to. But Ye Wushuang found it interesting. She didn’t directly reveal her identity as “Ye Wushuang.” She stood there quietly.

A few seconds later, Qiu Ruishi looked up and gave her a emotionless smile.

“Let’s go.”

Ye Wushuang wanted to ask where they were going, but she had to hold back. She obediently followed Qiu Ruishi. They walked past the first floor and went to a relatively secluded courtyard. Looking at this unfamiliar yet familiar scene, Ye Wushuang suddenly realized where they were going.

Qiu Ruishi remained silent, not as talkative as she usually was with Ye Wushuang. She was like a beautiful doll without a switch, lifeless.

This was the first time Ye Wushuang had seen Qiu Ruishi so lifeless.

A few seconds later, Qiu Ruishi broke the silence, asking, “Did my sister say anything?”

“She told me to check if there were any mice in your room.” Ye Wushuang answered obediently. Qiu Ruishi stopped in her tracks and broke into a smile.

“What a loyal housekeeper. She’s forgotten who the real master of this house is.” Qiu Ruishi still had a smile on her face, but her eyes were cold. Even though she was so relaxed in front of Ye Wushuang, she was still Qiu Ruishi, the heir to the Qiu family.

Ye Wushuang lowered her head even further. Qiu Ruishi’s aura made her feel uncomfortable. But it had to be said that Qiu Ruishi’s current aura reminded her of the strange Qiu Ruishi.

She was just as cold, as if everything in the world was just an ant in her eyes.

Ye Wushuang realized that she didn’t really know Qiu Ruishi, or rather, she hadn’t really tried to get to know Qiu Ruishi. She had just been using mind reading to get by.

Soon, they reached the bathroom. Ye Wushuang stood there stiffly, not knowing whether to go in. Qiu Ruishi was the one who noticed Ye Wushuang’s strangeness. She asked in confusion, “Xiao Mi, why do you seem so strange today?”

As she spoke, she reached out to pull “Xiao Mi.”

“Oh, um, I suddenly have a stomachache.” Ye Wushuang knew what entering meant, but she didn’t know that Qiu Ruishi had the habit of being served while bathing.

“Oh, okay. I’ll wait for you to come back…” Qiu Ruishi acted very naturally, showing a concerned expression.

Ye Wushuang, who was about to escape, stopped in her tracks. She regretted her decision to play tricks on Qiu Ruishi. If she hadn’t, she wouldn’t have ended up having to help Qiu Ruishi bathe.

But…

She actually looked forward to this plot unfolding…

“My stomach suddenly feels better.”

“Then let’s go in.” Qiu Ruishi looked at Ye Wushuang strangely, but she didn’t seem to suspect that “Xiao Mi” was Ye Wushuang in disguise. She continued to hold “Xiao Mi’s” hand, as if she was afraid that “Xiao Mi” would run away.

Ye Wushuang’s reasoning faltered. Though she possessed the same thing Qiu Ruishi had. Yet, for some reason, she was intensely curious about what Qiu Ruishi have. She even hoped to..

Her phone vibrated again, as if reminding Ye Wushuang that some of her stats had increased. Ye Wushuang gritted her teeth and walked into the bathroom.

When she looked, Qiu Ruishi had already entered the bathtub. She looked at herself and said strangely, “Stand at the door and be vigilant. If my sister comes, be sure to call me.”

As she spoke, she closed her eyes. She couldn’t see anything, let alone anything she shouldn’t see. The steam filled the air, and Ye Wushuang couldn’t see anything.

Ye Wushuang was discouraged, but she had to resign herself to walking towards the door…

Seeing Xiao Mi leave, Qiu Ruishi opened her closed eyes. A smile played on her lips as she said softly, “What a fool. Your acting is so bad. You can’t even hide it.”

From the moment she met “Xiao Mi,” Qiu Ruishi knew that it was Ye Wushuang. Unfortunately, Ye Wushuang didn’t notice Qiu Ruishi’s thoughts. She was still regretting her appearance as “Xiao Mi”…

She thought about it, but she seemed to notice something wrong with Qiu Ruishi’s actions.

“Qiu Ruishi, you knew it was me all along!” Ye Wushuang angrily rushed back into the bathroom. She happened to see Qiu Ruishi putting on her clothes. All she could see was her fair back.

But Qiu Ruishi wasn’t scared by Ye Wushuang’s intrusion. She calmly put on her clothes. Obviously, she had already finished bathing while Ye Wushuang was hesitating.

“Who told you to be so stupid?” She teased Ye Wushuang like a girl, a smile on her face. She was wearing very conservative pajamas, but for some reason, her charm couldn’t be concealed.
