Girl B continued to recount the story casually, “I saw someone in a police uniform walk into the infirmary. I originally thought it was a routine inquiry, but before a few minutes had passed, no matter how I refreshed, the task I had just seen, disappeared.”

Hearing this, Ye Wushuang’s heart turned ice cold. She finally understood why this copycat was so familiar with everything about the case. It was because the culprit who accepted this task was very likely a police officer, which is why the imitation was so similar in the details, to the point that even the always shrewd Captain Zhu was deceived by these details.

Ye Wushuang’s fear began to grow. It wasn’t the challenges ahead that frightened her, but the nature of people’s hearts. Just like the reporting reward program that started last December, individuals were willing to exploit any means for their own interests, even betraying their friends.

Ye Wushuang thought that only money could corrupt people. But the Dating App incident showed Ye Wushuang, once again, just how sinister the human heart could be, and how long the road she wanted to take to defeat the proxy God of Love was.

Because what she was defeating wasn’t just the proxy God of Love alone, but a group of people filled with desire.

“Finally finished cleaning.”

“Yeah, wait for me, I’ll send him the information.” The conversation between the girls continued. Ye Wushuang no longer had any desire to continue listening. Perhaps, after this, they might go somewhere to kill, or perhaps they would do something even more heinous, but all of that had nothing to do with Ye Wushuang.

What she should do most now was to cut off the source of everything.

The school scene began to switch again. The originally blurred scene illusion of the prison became clear again. Only then did Ye Wushuang vaguely remember that today was only the second day of strategizing the married teacher.

Today was already Friday, and coupled with the murder that occurred in the infirmary, the school quickly ended the afternoon classes with some excuse, coaxing the students to leave the school, and even ending club activities early. The teachers naturally didn’t leave, and held an emergency meeting after school to discuss the murder in the infirmary.

Although the lazy school nurse was only temporary, she died in the school. The suspect, until now, didn’t even have any known information. The school teachers were all in danger, afraid that the next person to become a headless corpse would be themselves.

Tick-tock.

Footsteps approached from outside, hesitant yet slow. Ye Wushuang recognized them as belonging to the married teacher. As the time for her son’s school dismissal drew nearer, her steps grew more anxious, yet hampered by her injury.

Even though she almost died yesterday, Ye Wushuang was unwilling to give up this opportunity. She quickly packed her bag and walked out of the classroom.

The married teacher was startled. When she saw that the person in front of her was Ye Wushuang, she finally breathed a sigh of relief and squeezed out a smile, “Wushuang, why haven’t you left yet?”

The school scene turned into a prison scene again. The corridor was dark and no light could be seen. Darkness was no obstacle for Ye Wushuang. Ye Wushuang lowered her head to look at her clothes, wanting to know if her position had changed in the married teacher’s heart.

Looking at it, the prison uniform she was wearing was neat and clean, and there were even a few badges pinned on it. The badges emitted a faint light, becoming the only light in this dim prison.

Ye Wushuang felt that she could understand it as she was the married teacher’s hope in the school, but she also felt that this understanding couldn’t explain the meaning of the badges.

Seeing that the married teacher was still waiting for her to reply, Ye Wushuang also showed a smile and continued, “Well, school ended too early today. I didn’t find it interesting to go home, so I thought I’d wait for you to pick up Xiaopeng together,” As she spoke, she carefully approached the married teacher.

The married teacher didn’t move. She stared blankly at Ye Wushuang, her eyes slightly moist.

“She’s gone.”

“Ah?”

Again, the same inexplicable words as last night. Ye Wushuang didn’t understand who the married teacher was talking about this time.

“My high school classmate.”

“Are you talking about the school nurse?” Ye Wushuang mentioned the lazy school nurse, and the tears that the married teacher had been holding back just now fell down in a rush. She was very sad, but she was unwilling to make any sound to vent her pain. It was very contradictory, but Ye Wushuang didn’t know why she felt that this was very in line with the married teacher’s personality.

She had always been such a submissive woman.

Ye Wushuang hesitated to involve this fragile woman in any connection to the lazy school nurse’s murder, but she felt she had no choice. She was a vampire, and was very sensitive to blood. Even if it wasn’t obvious, Ye Wushuang could smell the lazy school nurse’s blood on her body. The smell was no longer fresh, probably three or four hours old.

Even if the married teacher wasn’t the one who killed her, this matter was definitely related to the married teacher.

That contradictory feeling fought in Ye Wushuang’s heart. She paused in place for a few seconds, and finally walked forward and hugged the married teacher.

Even though the person in front of her was a cannibal, a heartless madman, Ye Wushuang still had to endure.

“Let’s go, let’s pick up Xiaopeng.” Ye Wushuang gently patted the married teacher’s shoulder, bringing this moment of mourning, devoid of sadness, to a close.

“Yeah, Xiaopeng must be getting impatient.” The married teacher wiped away her tears and frantically took out a mirror to check her makeup, afraid that she would reveal flaws in front of her son. Ye Wushuang didn’t speak, just quietly accompanied her, and then they got on the bus together.

It was rush hour, the bus crammed with passengers. Despite her leg injury, the married teacher stubbornly gave up her seat to a mother with a child.

The mother was very grateful and said a lot of nice things to the married teacher. The married teacher’s mood gradually improved, and she shared a hook with Ye Wushuang, but her gaze was still on the child.

“I really hope this child has a father.” The married teacher blurted out another inexplicable sentence. Even though Ye Wushuang wasn’t interested, she still tried to ask the married teacher about the meaning of this sentence.

At this moment, the married teacher realized what she had said, her cheeks slightly red, and she quickly waved her hand to explain, “It’s not that kind of meaning, it’s just that I didn’t have a father since I was a child. Every time I see a child, I hope they have a home with both parents.” The more she talked, the more embarrassed she became, and her voice became lower and lower, but from that tone, it could be heard that the married teacher wasn’t lying.

What she said was so simple, and even the married teacher’s expression was very cute when she said this, but for some reason, when she heard the married teacher tell this story, Ye Wushuang’s mind flashed back to the heads hidden in the cupboard. She couldn’t help but shudder, and felt the married teacher bump into her again because of inertia.

Ye Wushuang quickly reached out to steady her, using her height advantage to shield the married teacher. But the crowd pressed in relentlessly, even an uncle seemingly enjoying the tight space, leaning aggressively toward Ye Wushuang.

No matter how addicted Ye Wushuang was to the game, she understood the meaning of this uncle. She stepped on the uncle’s foot hard. Feeling Ye Wushuang’s resistance, the uncle immediately retracted his hands and feet, and took a few steps back.

He wasn’t scared by Ye Wushuang’s intimidation, but instead began to look for new prey. Ye Wushuang didn’t plan to care, because she had already seen Qiu Jieyi, who was also mixed in the crowd.

Even if Qiu Jieyi consciously hid herself, to Ye Wushuang’s enhanced perception, all humans were essentially transparent.

“Go find her.” Ye Wushuang’s scarlet eyes flickered, and the uncle, who was originally looking for a suitable target in the crowd, walked towards Qiu Jieyi as if possessed. Ye Wushuang believed that Qiu Jieyi’s sense of justice would make this uncle get the punishment he deserved.

The bus continued to shake on the road, but the commotion didn’t happen. Ye Wushuang felt the married teacher in her arms start to move uneasily.

Ye Wushuang lowered her head and asked uneasily, “Teacher, should we switch positions?” Thinking that the married teacher might be uncomfortable because of the posture she was being pressed down,  Ye Wushuang tried to create some distance. However, the fat woman behind her was pressed tightly against her, making even the slightest movement impossible.

“No… it’s okay, let’s just leave it like this.” The married teacher seemed to realize the difficulty of the current situation, she shook her head helplessly, but her face was even redder.

Ye Wushuang felt her own temperature rising, her heart pounding. The married teacher was clearly flustered by their closeness. Unable to check her phone, Ye Wushuang could only stare out the window, waiting helplessly for the next stop.

“XX Station has arrived. Passengers disembarking, please collect your belongings.” The announcement came, but Ye Wushuang and the married teacher were trapped in the throng, unable to move forward. Ye Wushuang took a few steps, only to realize the married teacher was stuck at the back of the bus.

Ye Wushuang empathized with her despair, but the ticket seller had already unleashed a loud announcement, cutting through the noise of the crowd.

“Get off the bus quickly if you want to get off!” The ticket seller’s gaze glared at Ye Wushuang, as if she felt that Ye Wushuang was hindering the normal operation of the bus. Ye Wushuang apologized repeatedly, and she took a big step and squeezed back to her original position.

Before anyone could react, Ye Wushuang swiftly hugged the married teacher and dashed out of the bus. The entire maneuver lasted only three seconds, pushing the limits of human ability. By the time the ticket seller tried to respond, the bus driver, oblivious to the commotion behind him, had already closed the door.

Ye Wushuang stood on the platform with the married teacher in her arms. Before she could breathe a sigh of relief, she felt someone gradually approaching her.

“Aren’t you tired of holding each other like this?” A female voice asked.

Ye Wushuang only felt that this voice was quite familiar, but she didn’t care, and responded with a smile, “It’s okay, I usually exercise.”

The voice snorted unhappily, and continued faintly, “Exercise? Is that what you call playing games all day?” Her tone was full of sarcasm. In the next second, Ye Wushuang finally realized who the owner of this voice was.

This realization gave Ye Wushuang a headache, and she was a little afraid to look at the girl who was speaking.

Seeing Ye Wushuang standing there in silence, a little boy’s voice came from next to her, continuing in a childish voice, “Sister Ruishi, I’m the best for you! I’m definitely not a playboy!”

Ye Wushuang’s small body couldn’t help but tremble even more.

She didn’t know why, but ever since she started strategizing the married teacher, she could run into Qiu Ruishi everywhere.
