She only had one choice: to trust Qiu Ruishi unconditionally.

“Qiu Ruishi, I have something to tell you too.”

“What else are you hiding?” Qiu Ruishi smiled. She still hadn’t realized her unusual situation. In other words, no matter how much the other god stirred, her human body couldn’t realize it.

This also explained why only others could see the other person in their god form.

Ye Wushuang was afraid of losing Qiu Ruishi, afraid that she would forget her after becoming a god.

Now, those worries seemed insignificant. She had to stand on the same side as Qiu Ruishi. That way, maybe they could really squeeze the gods out of their shared body.

This was their love, not a fight to the death between two gods.

The story was long, so Ye Wushuang had to use the simplest words to describe the few times she had seen the god of love. She had seen her earlier than Qiu Ruishi had seen the god of desire. After she finished, the two of them began to analyze why the gods who were lurking in their bodies suddenly appeared.

It was already past three in the morning. It was quiet outside. Ye Wushuang lowered her voice, “Maybe you started liking me from that time, so it triggered the gods’ awakening.”

Qiu Ruishi nodded, agreeing with this point of view. But then, she felt something was wrong.

“Don’t be so narcissistic. You saw her so early. Are you saying that I liked you a long time ago?” Qiu Ruishi smiled and refuted, refusing to admit that she had liked Ye Wushuang for a long time.

Seeing Qiu Ruishi’s attitude, Ye Wushuang became interested. “Didn’t you like me a long time ago? Then what did you mean by giving me those Valentine’s Day chocolate?”

She thought back to Valentine’s Day, when they had their first real encounter. If it hadn’t been for that chocolate, the following events wouldn’t have happened.

Qiu Ruishi pursed her lips slightly, her smile widening. “That was to thank you for your help before, so I gave you chocolate.”

Memories gradually unveiled their mystery, but Ye Wushuang had no memory of helping at all.

“Help?”

“You might have forgotten, but in your first year of high school, you once helped me find my way.”

“Huh? I have no memory of that at all!” Ye Wushuang couldn’t believe it. In her memory, there was no memory of helping at all. And if she had really helped Qiu Ruishi, how could she possibly forget such a beautiful woman?

Ye Wushuang unconsciously shuddered. She even felt like those memories were fake.

But Qiu Ruishi’s memories seemed to be arranged in this way. She could even recall specific details, as if the script of a TV show had been rewritten.

“Qiu Ruishi, I’m a little scared now. Are we fake? I feel like I can’t remember anything about the past.”

“I don’t think so. It’s probably because of their existence that our memories have been messed up. Once they leave, everything will be over.” Qiu Ruishi comforted her, even though she had the same fear as Ye Wushuang.

Unfamiliar memories, unfamiliar places, as if they were all signs that they were strangers.

But there was no indication from any of the signs whether they were originally humans or gods.

Qiu Ruishi subconsciously looked at the time on her phone. It was already past four in the morning. They would have to face dawn soon.

“It’s very late. We have class tomorrow. Let’s go to sleep.” Qiu Ruishi stretched gently. Ye Wushuang’s gaze involuntarily focused on her.

Qiu Ruishi covered herself with her arms, her expression a mixture of a smile and a smirk, as if she sensed that Ye Wushuang was looking at something.

Before they had established a relationship, Qiu Ruishi had thought very simply. They were both women, and they had everything they needed. But after establishing a relationship, she couldn’t help but think about things from a lover’s perspective.

She wondered if Ye Wushuang’s gaze was intentional, if she had seen something unbeautiful about her.

Because of love, she wanted to give Ye Wushuang her best side.

But Ye Wushuang’s thoughts were different. She felt that love was about giving everything you have, including your true self. So, when their relationship was established, Qiu Ruishi became reserved, while Ye Wushuang remained the same.

“No, I was just curious. The beautiful girl favored by the gods, it turns out she gets tired too.” Ye Wushuang chuckled, retracting her greedy gaze. She knew that her gaze was too frightening.

Although her vampire level had increased, Ye Wushuang’s need for blood had decreased. But when she saw Qiu Ruishi and smelled the scent of her blood, she couldn’t help but feel a strange sensation.

Mixed with her body fragrance, it was like the most delicious dish in the world.

Thinking about it, Ye Wushuang couldn’t help but swallow. Red light flickered in her eyes.

“Ye Wushuang, you’re really…” Qiu Ruishi felt like she should scold Ye Wushuang, but after thinking about her own elegance, she gave up.

Seeing Ye Wushuang show no signs of leaving, Qiu Ruishi climbed into bed herself; she was utterly exhausted. If Ye Wushuang made a move, Qiu Ruishi figured she wouldn’t resist.

But if you asked if she anticipated Ye Wushuang making a move, Qiu Ruishi would readily admit she was very much looking forward to it.

Night was gradually turning from darkness to light. Winter was leaving, and spring was slowly arriving. The morning air was still cold. Qiu Ruishi huddled under the covers. Even though there was heating, it wasn’t as comfortable as the temperature inside the covers.

She closed her eyes for a few seconds, still Ye Wushuang didn’t make any movement behind her.

Qiu Ruishi gave up, concluding that the God of Desire was likely the reason Ye Wushuang couldn’t fully accept their simple life together.

Thinking about it, her eyelids became heavier and heavier. But she vaguely felt someone lift her covers.

Her body glowed slightly, causing Qiu Ruishi to involuntarily shudder. But soon, her body temperature gradually warmed up. Because they were so close, her body began to heat up.

Qiu Ruishi couldn’t help but turn towards Ye Wushuang. She leaned against Ye Wushuang’s embrace, enjoying the warmth of sleeping in the arms of her lover.

“Good night.” Qiu Ruishi’s consciousness became more and more hazy, but she seemed to hear Ye Wushuang whispering softly in her ear. She also seemed to feel the mark left on her forehead.

But she lacked the energy to make a sound. She drifted off to sleep, perhaps the most restful she’d had in a long time.

Seeing this, Ye Wushuang couldn’t help but smile. She was also tired, but because the god of desire would come out when she was asleep, Ye Wushuang was a little afraid of sleep.

But she was willing to believe Qiu Ruishi, to believe that these gods who were killing and loving each other could leave their human bodies.

But…

The clock began to tick again. It had changed from four to five. Ye Wushuang and Qiu Ruishi had both entered deep sleep.

At this moment, Qiu Ruishi’s eyes opened without any warning. She looked at Ye Wushuang in front of her, full of confusion, as if she didn’t understand why she was sleeping with a human again.

She began to struggle, trying to get out of Ye Wushuang’s embrace, but she was holding her tightly. This was clearly not Qiu Ruishi, but the god of love who had suddenly awakened.

She didn’t know why, but her divine power, which was about to recover, became even weaker as time passed.

“Human… wake up.” The god of love became anxious. Even though her voice was still calm, it was like a robot without emotion.

Finally, Ye Wushuang on the other side moved. She opened her eyes. When she saw the god of love so close, she suddenly pushed her, sending the god of love to the ground.

Compared to the bland goddess, the god of love, the god of desire was like a chili pepper that could explode.

“You scared me! I opened my eyes and saw… ” Naturally, the Ye Wushuang in front of her wasn’t Ye Wushuang. She was the god of desire.

This was the first time the god of love and the god of desire had met.

But they didn’t seem to realize each other’s identities. They both thought the other hadn’t recovered their memories.

After the two gods calmed down, they smiled awkwardly at each other. Then, silence filled the conversation. It was clear that without each other’s prompting, they didn’t know what to say.

Soon, the god of desire broke the awkward silence. “It seems like there’s nothing to do today.”

The god of love nodded. “Yeah, I can’t think of anything to do either.”

An awkwardness hung in the air between them as they hugged. Or rather, since becoming gods, they seemed to have lost their capacity for human emotions and desires. Hugging felt foreign; even conversation was infrequent between them.

This action of sleeping together had exceeded the limits of the two gods’ thin faces.

“Well, good night then.”

“Okay.”

They lay back down on the bed, back to back, but neither of the gods’ eyes closed. It was as if they were still thinking about what to say to each other.

A few seconds later, the two gods turned around at the same time. Even the emotionally indifferent god of love and the arrogant god of desire, who was dead set on being proud, couldn’t help but laugh at this moment.

“Suddenly, I can’t sleep. Let’s chat.”

“Okay.”

Without realizing that the other person was the god they hated the most, they chatted about their past stories, their miserable past lives, which were even more miserable than miserable. But because they didn’t know each other, they both thought it was something that happened to the human in front of them. They weren’t good at expressing themselves. They just took turns telling their stories after a period of silence.

The customer service representative had once said that gods were once humans. They became gods because of some kind of opportunity.

If they were gods, they only had two ways of life: one was to die of boredom, and the other was to be destroyed. Gods didn’t have bodies because bodies would metabolize and die. So, all gods didn’t have a true body. This was why they could only choose to attach themselves to humans and couldn’t exist independently.

But if you asked them what would happen to the human body if they left it, even they didn’t know.
