Wu Yue raised her thumb and brushed it under her nose. She let out a proud snort. “Trying to ambush me? Hmph.”

Qing Cao ran up to her with eyes sparkling in admiration. “Yue, I really didn’t expect it. You’re actually amazing!”

She kicked her leg as she spoke. “That kick just now was seriously awesome!”

Wu Yue’s face darkened. “Where did you learn to say ‘seriously’?”

Qing Cao smiled sheepishly. “Didn’t you say it last time, Yue? ‘Seriously’ just means really, really.”

As she explained, she stretched out her arms like she was ready to give a big hug.

Wu Yue covered her face. Good grief… I’ve corrupted a sweet child.

“But Yue, what did that ‘Ah-da~’ and the nose-wiping move mean just now?”

Wu Yue thought, I’ll give you one more chance. Speak properly. When did that move of mine ever look like I was wiping my nose?

“Shouting when you hit someone gives you more power.”

Wu Yue frowned and dug a finger into her ear, sneering. “Seriously? You can hit me, but I can’t hit you back? What did you expect me to do, stand there and let you beat me up? Dream on.”

Aya screamed, “When did I hit you?!”

She had only charged at that damn female. She had not even touched her.

Qing Cao frowned. “Were you trying to cuddle Yue, then? Your mouth was wide open like you wanted to bite someone. I could see wild greens stuck between your teeth.”

The entire crowd went silent.

“Pfft—”

“Mmph-haha—”

“Snrk-snort—”

Stifled laughter rippled through the crowd. Even the Chief’s normally stern face twitched slightly with amusement.

Realizing his daughter had been publicly smacked while he stood there chuckling made him feel a bit guilty. He quickly covered his mouth and gave a light cough to disguise it.

“Chief, shouldn’t we be handling the matter of the half-beastman warrior getting ambushed right now?” A soft but slightly weak voice drew everyone’s attention. It was the iron-voiced female, Ye Duo.

She stood there, her muscular body trying to act cute like a baby deer. Wu Yue felt her stomach turn. She was about to throw up.

After speaking, Ye Duo turned toward Wu Yue. “Yue, not only did you try to kill a half-beastman warrior, you also hurt Aya. Has the Snow Tiger Tribe treated you so poorly?”

She looked at Wu Yue with a face full of disappointment, as if her heart had just been broken.

Wu Yue thought, Excuse me?

Qing Cao thought, What is she even saying?

The tribespeople thought, Has Ye Duo lost her mind?

“I… cough… it wasn’t that little female.” A rough voice spoke up behind Wu Yue and the others. It came from the half-beastman warrior who had been unconscious the entire time.

“Meng is awake!” the tribespeople exclaimed and rushed over. They held their breath as they carefully carried the half-beastman warrior away from the puddle of vomit left by Ye Duo.

The Chief stepped forward and crouched beside him. “What happened exactly? Why did you collapse?”

The half-beastman warrior rubbed his head. “I was patrolling at the time. Suddenly, out of nowhere, a horrifying stench hit me. Because of my sharp sense of smell… I fainted from the fumes. Thinking back on it now, it smelled like a stink beast. But it was even worse. It was more intense and suffocating. Probably one of the strongest stink beasts there is.”

Off to the side, Wu Yue’s face stiffened. System, why do I feel like the ‘mighty stink beast’ he’s talking about… might be me?
