Yuan Qi’s voice did not soften in the slightest. “Do not stop. Charge through!”

All the beastmen growled low and deep in unison and then sprinted forward.

“Awooo!”

A long and heavy howl rang out from ahead. It carried a weight of power that caused the eyes of every beastman to grow sharp with tension.

A serious expression appeared on Lang Ya’s beast face. “That is the Wolf King.”

Sure enough, on a high slope ahead, a massive figure stood with its back to the moonlight. Its glowing green eyes were fixed on them. The creature was at least twice as large as any ordinary forest wolf.

Surrounding the Wolf King were more than a dozen strong and savage forest wolves. They howled with excitement, their eyes glowing red as they stared at the warriors from the Snow Tiger Tribe and Black Wolf Tribe. Their gazes were filled with hunger and bloodlust.

Under such eyes, Wu Yue felt like a slab of freshly roasted meat.

The Wolf King let out a deep growl and rose to its feet. Wu Yue could even hear the sound of drool dripping into the grass beneath it.

By then, the forest wolves behind them had already caught up.

Sweat dampened her palms. Wu Yue gripped the fur of the beastman beneath her with all her strength. Her body stayed tense and alert.

“System, is your host going to die here today?”

Even so, giving up was never an option.

She reached into the basket at her side and felt for a small cold bottle. Inside was the snake venom that Yuan Lang had helped her acquire last time.

She would wait for the right moment. A sprinkle of this on a wound would bring intense suffering to any wolf that touched it.

As if it had gathered its entire pack, the Wolf King raised its head and howled toward the sky.

The dozen or so muscular forest wolves around it were the first to leap forward, launching themselves directly at the beastmen.

“Yue, hold tightly to my fur,” growled the Snow Tiger beastman beneath her.

Wu Yue responded with resolve. “I will. Do not worry about me. Focus on fighting and stay safe.”

They were already surrounded by the wolves. Continuing to battle in this state was extremely dangerous. The best tactic would be to find an opening and break through.

The beastmen from both tribes tightened their formation around Wu Yue and the beastman carrying her. That beastman would dash forward occasionally to strike at the enemy when an opportunity arose.

The battle had lasted for some time already. Wu Yue could sense the deepening breaths of the warriors and the increasing stench of blood thick in the air as more forest wolves fell.

“Watch the Wolf King’s location. There are fewer wolves over that way. Lang Ya and I will attack the Wolf King directly. When the time comes, follow closely. Do not fall behind.”

All the nearby beastmen answered him in unison.

Lang Ya was already pushing through the fray and joined Yuan Qi in the fight.

Up on the slope, the Wolf King remained where it was, watching the battle below. It made no move to intervene.

After finishing off several wolves in their path, Yuan Qi and Lang Ya moved together with seamless understanding. They summoned the divine power of the beast god and charged straight toward the Wolf King.

The Wolf King saw that its prey dared to strike first. It raised its enormous claw and moved to block their attack.

Meanwhile, the beastmen within the wolf pack’s encirclement heard the Wolf King’s roar. All of them turned as one and began advancing, shielding Wu Yue as they rushed toward the high slope.
