Living in the Beast World With a System - Chapter 21
The half-beast who had been pulled over wore a bewildered expression. When he heard that he was supposed to lick the wound of a strange female, he frowned and prepared to offer his saliva.
Wu Yue waved her hands again and again. “There’s really no need. My finger is already healed.”
This was not a joke. Letting a strange male lick her finger? Her dignity would never allow such a thing.
The tall female stepped forward. “Stop hesitating. Half-beastmen warriors are busy all the time. It’s just a lick. He’s not going to eat you.”
She reached out and grabbed Wu Yue’s wrist. Wu Yue nearly lost her composure. She quickly unwrapped the herbs around her injured finger, revealing the wound.
“Look, the bleeding has stopped already. The skin isn’t red or swollen.”
The tall female was the first to check. The wound that should have been messy and raw had indeed stopped bleeding. The skin around it was clear and showed no signs of swelling.
The surrounding females gasped in surprise. The nearby half-beast also leaned in curiously for a better look.
“It really is much better. When I was first learning to gather, I got hurt, too. Even when a half-beast licked the wound, it still bled for a long time and stayed swollen for days.”
As they recalled the injuries from their early gathering days, all the young females frowned at the memory. The pain had been unforgettable.
The tall female’s eyes sparkled. She moved closer to Wu Yue and tried to coax her. “Yue, where did you collect that blood-stopping herb?”
Wu Yue looked up, confused. “Huh?”
The female scratched her head, embarrassed. “I want to collect some, too. My elder brother and elder sister always get hurt when they go hunting. The wounds heal after a few days, but they bleed a lot. This herb is so helpful. I’d like to bring some back for them.”
As she spoke, she suddenly smacked her forehead. “You can call me Mu Jing.”
She then tugged the chubby young female beside her. “This is Cao Yuan. Let’s all gather together from now on.”
Her round face was full of hope.
Seeing how eager she was to get along, Wu Yue felt a smile tug at her lips.
What kind of bad intentions could a young girl like this even have? She just wants your herbs.
Wu Yue opened her pouch and handed five blood-stopping herbs to each of them. “I don’t have many left. That patch I found earlier was very small, and I already gathered all of it. Just try to remember what it looks like. If you come across it again while gathering, you can collect it.”
Her generous gesture won the others over. They gathered around her, chatting brightly and cheerfully, a complete change from their earlier coldness.
“Little female, could you spare me a few of those blood-stopping herbs?” a male voice asked. It rang out clearly above the lively chatter.
Everyone turned toward the voice. It was the same half-beastman warrior Mu Jing had pulled over earlier.
Now he stood there awkwardly, scratching his head. His eyes were filled with hope as he looked at Wu Yue.
Tomorrow was his hunting day. The little female’s injury had been minor, but the herb had definitely stopped the bleeding.
He had thought about sneaking off to find some on his own. But since Wu Yue had said the patch was already empty, he had no choice but to ask her directly.
Seeing all the other females watching him, the half-beast quickly added, “I know the herb is valuable. I can trade meat for it.”
The moment he finished, everyone around gasped.
Since the beginning of winter, most of the tribe had not tasted meat at all.
