The Black Wolf chief’s eyes widened in surprise, and his voice could not hide the shock. He knew better than anyone how serious the injuries of those half-beastmen warriors were. Using herbs alone would not be enough to heal them. Only Wu power could remove the decayed flesh and pus from the wounds.

But the wounds on those half-beastmen warriors were too severe. The amount of Wu power needed to treat just one of them could instead heal many others with less critical injuries. That was why they had decided to give up on them.

And now the Snow Tiger Tribe beastmen were saying those half-beastmen warriors had already been treated?

He lifted his foot and started heading toward the hut where the half-beastmen warriors were staying. “I am going to take a look.”

Before he could get close, Yuan Qi stepped in to block his path. “You cannot go in right now. The little female said that the wounds have just been treated, and it would be very easy for them to get infected by filth. So, none of us are allowed to go in.”

He raised an eyebrow at the Black Wolf chief. “That includes you too, Chief.”

The Black Wolf chief’s face darkened. “They are members of the Black Wolf Tribe.”

Before Yuan Qi could respond, Wu Yue lifted the straw curtain and stepped out of the hut. “Since they are your tribe members, then you should care even more about their well-being.”

She smiled lightly and pointed at the bloodstains on the Black Wolf chief’s body. “You are covered in dirty blood right now. Going in would only make their wounds worse.”

Although she was smiling, the seriousness in her eyes was unmistakable, and it made the Black Wolf chief stop in his tracks.

His sharp gaze turned toward Wu Yue. “I hope you are not doing anything harmful to my tribe members.”

Wu Yue smiled again. “You already abandoned them. What could I possibly do to them? Chief, it sounds like you are overthinking.”

The Black Wolf chief’s face turned even darker. “I thought the Snow Tiger Wu just sent a regular herb-using human female. I did not expect your mouth to be even sharper than your herbs.”

Wu Yue raised her eyebrow. “Then you would be wrong. My herbs are far more powerful than my words. After all, they have even killed a feral beast.”

The Black Wolf chief fell silent.

Did she just threaten me?

Wu Yue looked at him with a faint smile.

No, I am not threatening you. I am just telling the truth.

“It seems the Snow Tiger Tribe likes staying here, so I will not interfere. If you need anything, come find me.”

With that, he stormed off with the beastmen from the Black Wolf Tribe.

Wu Yue gave a light snort and then looked to the side at Yuan Qi. “Uncle Yuan Qi, please select a few beastmen for me. I need to teach them how to boil herbs.”

Yuan Qi was momentarily stunned. “You want beastmen warriors to boil herbs?”

He did not mean to underestimate his companions, but they truly lacked the brains for such tasks.

Wu Yue smiled and turned to retrieve her backpack from the hut.

Inside the backpack were bundles of herbs wrapped in similar-sized leaves, neatly stacked.

Yuan Qi picked one up and sniffed it, then looked at Wu Yue. “Are these all herbs?”

Wu Yue nodded. “I have already portioned them into these packs. I only need to teach them how to boil them properly.”

Yuan Qi let out a breath of relief. “That they can manage.”

Then he looked at her with confusion. “Why do you not boil the medicine yourself?”

Wu Yue patted the basket on her back. “These are all the herbs we brought. Tomorrow I will probably need to leave the Black Wolf Tribe for a while to gather more fresh herbs.”
