Living in the Beast World With a System - Chapter 147
Wu Yue rolled her eyes. “Of course I know. I’m scared of dying too, okay?” She glanced at the bottle in her hand. “The only plan now is to poison these sexist monkeys.”
She took a deep breath. “System, enhance this poison,” she ordered.
The system perked up. “That’ll cost three points,” it said cheerfully.
In this life-or-death moment, Wu Yue showed unprecedented generosity. “Host, your adorable little system has a very practical small bow and arrow for just one point,” the system offered. “Do you want it?”
Wu Yue’s eyes lit up. A bow and arrow! “I absolutely need it. Give it to me now!” she shouted in her mind.
The system chuckled slyly and pulled a bow and arrow from a red bundle, placing it in Wu Yue’s basket. Wu Yue reached for it but found nothing.
“Where’s the bow and arrow, System?” she demanded, her voice laced with frustration.
The system hummed mischievously. “It’s already in your basket,” it replied.
Wu Yue glanced at her basket. It’s so small it doesn’t even stick out! She gave the system a cold stare. “System, was this bow and arrow customized for your height?”
The system went quiet, playing dead. Wu Yue sighed. This familiar tactic. I’ve been scammed again.
“Roar!”
The tree ape’s patience was clearly limited. Seeing the female target not moving, they charged directly at Wu Yue. Take out the only female first, then the males are our little treasures.
“Damn! Uncles, you take them on. I’ll assist!” Wu Yue shouted, dodging to the side.
The beastmen froze. You’re scared of dying, fine, but assist? What can you assist with? Cheering ‘666’ from the sidelines?
The middle-aged beastmen’s combat skills were impressive. Compared to the young beastmen from yesterday, their coordination was far more polished, and they knew the tree ape better. They worked together, leaving wounds on the two tree ape. Though they took some minor injuries, they fared much better than the younger beastmen.
“Yuan Qi, this won’t work. Our stamina will run out,” one beastman said, his voice unsteady, his face growing grim.
Yuan Qi’s expression was equally dark. If we get caught by the tree ape… no, I’d rather die!
Wu Yue quietly pulled the tiny bow and arrow from her basket. The system is such a scam. This bow lives up to its ‘little’ name. It is barely longer than my forearm. Looking at the ten crude arrows in the basket, she didn’t even have the energy to complain. Is this really the kind of gear you get in a primitive society?
The bow and arrows looked utterly primitive. Carefully, Wu Yue took the poison bottle and dipped an arrow in it for a moment. She took a deep breath, strung the arrow, and aimed at a wound on one tree ape, where blood oozed from a claw mark made by the beastmen. The massive tree ape seemed unfazed, still swinging its huge arms at the beastmen.
“Shameless tree ape, trying to kill me? Let’s see who takes who down first,” Wu Yue muttered fiercely. She released the arrow, which shot straight toward the tree ape.
But the next moment, the tree ape seemed to hear the arrow cutting through the air. It turned its head toward her. Wu Yue’s heart tightened. I’ve been spotted!
She quickly grabbed another arrow, dipped it in poison, and aimed at the tree ape again.
