“Only females and no males? Then how do they reproduce?”

Yuan Lang’s eyes sparkled with amusement.

“That is exactly why Teng Qian is in such a bad mood.”

As he said that, Wu Yue suddenly had a bold idea.

“It can’t be what I’m thinking, right?”

Yuan Lang raised an eyebrow.

“What are you thinking?”

Wu Yue gave a sheepish laugh and lowered her voice.

“Do those tree ape find males from other groups to reproduce with?”

Yuan Lang’s low chuckle sounded beside her ear.

“Smart.”

Wu Yue gasped and covered her mouth. Laughter sparkled in her eyes.

“So, you’re saying that when Teng Qian went out with you, those tree ape tried to take him away to… mate?”

Yuan Lang cleared his throat at her bold word choice. He rubbed his nose awkwardly and nodded.

“That’s right.”

Wu Yue laughed quietly to herself.

“I don’t believe it was only Teng Qian. Are you all saying your looks didn’t match the tree ape’s preferences?”

Yuan Lang raised an eyebrow.

“As long as it is male, the tree ape like it.”

Wu Yue’s jaw dropped. She sighed, then stood and gave Yuan Lang a solemn pat on the shoulder.

“It looks like when you go out to hunt feral beasts, the dangers you face really are quite diverse. Even your dignity is at risk… and at the hands of beasts, no less. Tsk tsk tsk.”
