Wu Yue gave him a suspicious look. “Why do I feel like you were just about to tear the roof off my house?”

Yuan Lang’s hand, which had been resting on the grass mat covering the rooftop, twitched. He gave a nervous laugh. “No way. I would never do something like that.”

He quickly fixed the grass mat back into place and even smoothed the edges. Only then did he step off the little female’s roof and return to the ground.

At that moment, Wu Yue had already made her way to the small gate beside the stairs. She opened the door and walked down. “So, the departure date for the feral beast hunt has been set?”

Yuan Lang nodded. “It is in three days. We will leave early in the morning. How are your preparations going?”

Wu Yue nodded. “The herbs are ready. The ones you collected over the past two days should be enough for a while. Once we are in the forest, we can gather more, so I am not too worried.”

She looked up at Yuan Lang. “Is it dangerous to catch that kind of snake beast that injured the Wild Lion Tribe warrior last time?”

Yuan Lang raised an eyebrow. “That type of snake beast is actually not something to worry about. Its venom is strong, but as long as you are careful, it will not be a problem. The Wild Lion warrior probably stumbled into their nest by accident.”

Wu Yue’s eyes lit up. “Then could you catch a few of those snake beasts for me? Also, bring back some herbs that can counter snake venom.”

Yuan Lang nodded. “Of course. I will take some warriors with me this afternoon.”

The beastmen were unbelievably fast. While Wu Yue was still preparing stone bowls to hold the venom, Yuan Lang and his team had already returned with the snake beasts.

Faced with the sight of several snakes writhing and coiling together, Wu Yue immediately ducked behind Yuan Lang. She gave a dry laugh. “Well, I will leave this to you. I just need their venom. The more, the better.”

It was rare to see her looking so timid. Yuan Lang raised his eyebrows and smiled. His deep laugh stirred Wu Yue’s ears and curled directly into her heart.

Her thin face flushed slightly, and she glared at him out of embarrassment.

The collected snake venom was poured into the prepared stone bowls.

After Yuan Lang left, Wu Yue summoned her system. “Do you have any containers that can hold snake venom?”

The system lifted its little chin proudly. “The system has everything, as long as the host has enough points to exchange.”

Wu Yue glanced at her point balance and sighed dramatically. Show me what you have.

Now that there were points to be earned, the system became energetic and instantly opened the system shop interface with a swoosh. Everything from bamboo tubes to fine glassware was available.

Wu Yue looked at the snake venom on the table and decisively chose the glass bottle that cost ten points each.

“System, are you seriously this greedy?”

The system wailed in protest. “Do not wrong me, Host. This price was not set by your cute and kind system.”

With a snort, Wu Yue carefully poured the dark venom into the glass bottle and stored it in her personal space.

Three days passed quickly. Not many people in the tribe knew Wu Yue was going to the forest to hunt feral beasts with Yuan Lang and the others. However, Qing Cao was definitely one of them.

“Yue, the deep forest is so dangerous. Terrifying beasts roam everywhere. If you accidentally run into a few of them… You really should not go,” she said with concern.

Wu Yue leaned in to hug her. “I will be fine. I have the beastmen protecting me, right? Do not worry.”

After waving goodbye to her little companion, their group arrived at the edge of the forest. The method of travel for this hunt turned out to be quite unexpected.

Staring at the large white tiger crouched in front of her, Wu Yue’s eyes widened in surprise. “You want me to ride a tiger?”

Yuan Lang chuckled. “It will be faster this way. The rainy season is almost here. We have to return before it begins.”
