Level 1 Little Zombie Doomsday Growth Diary - Extra 1
Extra 1 – Transformation Potion x1
After the Giant Corpse’s death, the remaining Zombie Horde crumbled, with at least half of them easily eliminated.
The remaining half, now leaderless, scattered in all directions. The base made no further pursuit.
With the battle concluded, both bases needed to regroup and rest. The escaped zombies would be handled by other bases.
And with the Giant Corpse dead, a new Zombie King was unlikely to evolve in the near future.
As Yuan Ji’s relieved speculation filled the Communicator, Qian Hui remained silent, cradling Pineapple and Taro, the newest additions to the base.
The final Game Notification had revealed… he was Zombie King 01.
No wonder he had only encountered 03 and 02. 04 had apparently been killed by humans long ago.
But the notification also stated he was an “incomplete form.”
Combined with earlier clues, it seemed he had never fully transformed into a zombie, remaining in a half-human, half-zombie state.
Qian Hui’s emotions were complex and conflicted, yet tinged with relief.
He wondered if choosing the Zombie Faction would have made him a complete form.
After a moment of wild speculation, Qian Hui decided to keep this revelation from Nan Tingjin and the plants for now.
The battle had ended in a resounding victory. Though exhausted, all the plants were jubilant.
Pea sent Big Peanut and Pomelo to rest, then swallowed a handful of pills and darted around with renewed vigor.
Timothy was surrounded by a throng of flowering plants, who fussed over it, bringing water and massaging its legs.
Carnivorous Flower and Cabbage had sustained minor injuries, while Sweet Pepper’s swift movements had kept it safe from the Giant Corpse’s attacks.
Nut had suffered a few bites from high-grade zombies, but after taking a pill, it had mostly recovered and stood basking in the sun in an open area.
Carrot and Lettuce were overseeing the cleanup, instructing the plants to clear away the traces of the cannon fire from the ground.
The remaining combat-ready plants stayed within the base’s defensive perimeter, eliminating the lingering zombie horde. They had only expended some energy.
The newly arrived Pineapple and Taro were initially frightened, but after huddling in Qian Hui’s arms for a while, they followed Brittle Peach away.
No one had been injured at the Black Ridge Mountain Base either; the Giant Corpse’s sole target had remained the Plant Little Courtyard.
However, when Yuan Ji arrived with his team and gazed upon the mountain of zombie corpses, he grew troubled.
The base had Ability Users capable of manipulating ordinary objects, so moving the corpses wasn’t the problem. The real challenge was figuring out where to relocate them…
The base was located within Safe Zone Sector 5, and there were no uncleared high-risk areas nearby. Disposing of “trash” carelessly was not an option.
The stench from the pile of corpses was overwhelming. Yuan Ji considered digging a deep pit somewhere to bury them all.
The highest concentration of zombies had died outside the Plant Base, and the plants had also caught wind of the foul odor.
Carrot stood on the wall, using a leaf as a makeshift mask, while Big Pea, standing beside it, had stolen Sweet Pepper’s face shield and clamped it tightly over its nose.
Just then, Durian arrived with a group of Little Bitter Gourds.
“Woo!” it waved its hand, indicating it had a solution.
Beside Durian, nine Little Bitter Gourds stood in three neat rows, nervously glancing at each other.
Following Durian’s instructions, they huddled together tightly. Soon, a thick green smoke began to rise from the tops of all the Little Bitter Gourds.
[ Warning: Mutated plants nearby have entered a Berserk State. Please take cover! (From Encyclopedia entry: “Bitter Gourd Family”) ]
In the distance, Qian Hui was astonished and looked up toward the wall.
At the same time, Carrot and Big Pea, still perched on the wall, were equally shocked. “Woo!?”
What? These low-grade Little Bitter Gourds could actually charge up an attack!
With their eyes tightly shut, the Little Bitter Gourds continued to generate more green smoke, which coalesced in mid-air into a massive Bitter Gourd.
The Big Bitter Gourd actually moved, taking a step forward.
Carrot and Pea quickly dodged out of the way. The Big Bitter Gourd, formed from green smoke, approached the wall, opened its mouth wide, took a deep breath, and then exhaled forcefully.
Instantly, all the filth and bloodstains within a vast area were stripped away. Massive piles of corpses slowly gathered in the air, coalescing into a pitch-black sphere.
The dark sphere rotated dozens of times before dissolving into smoke and being carried away by the wind.
Pea’s eyes widened. “Woo!”
Wow!
Having completed its task, the Big Bitter Gourd, formed from green smoke, dispersed. The Little Bitter Gourds released each other and collapsed to the ground, exhausted.
Qian Hui arrived just in time, picking them up one by one and feeding them medicinal pills.
Durian helped with the feeding, its heart aching with concern yet brimming with pride.
The Little Bitter Gourds’ special ability had been accidentally discovered by Durian some time ago.
Back then, everyone was busy dealing with the River-Sea Base and had also discovered traces of the Giant Corpse. Since the Little Bitter Gourds’ ability couldn’t contribute much to the situation, Durian had kept it to itself.
Who would have thought it would prove useful so soon!
Sensing Durian’s thoughts, Qian Hui praised it warmly. After feeding all the Little Bitter Gourds their medicine, he instructed Durian to take them to rest.
Some of the Carnivorous Flowers, having recovered slightly, offered to help by letting the Little Bitter Gourds sit directly in their mouths.
Carrot discarded the leaf covering its face, while Big Pea secretly tried to return Sweet Pepper’s mask. But when it turned around, Sweet Pepper was standing right behind it, glaring angrily.

With the annoying humans no longer knocking at their door and the loathsome Zombie King gone, the Plant Base enjoyed a long period of tranquility.
Potato and Corn began planning a trip in their Flyer to explore new areas and bring back new plants.
Although Black Reef and the Giant Corpse had been defeated, many uncleared areas and zombies still roamed the world, maintaining the three-way factional balance.
Qian Hui temporarily restricted plants from venturing out in groups of fewer than four, unless they learned to read, passed Chili Pepper’s assessment, and could use a Communicator to stay in constant contact with the base.
Potato thought, This will be easy.
It, Corn, Big Cherry, and one more…
Potato looked up, scanning the area. Mango suddenly lunged forward, arms outstretched, and let out a loud “Woo!”
Together!
Corn ruthlessly pushed Mango away, telling it to go play with Little Mushroom instead.
Mango pouted but didn’t seem too upset. It turned and scampered off, eager to check out the new plants.
Over the next half-month, the human-allied base sent six more mutated plants, while Carrot and Lettuce returned from two expeditions with seven more.
By then, the Plant Base’s total membership had reached 102.
With the Side Mission completed, Qian Hui’s Quest Log stopped updating.
For a long time afterward, Qian Hui didn’t need to take on any more missions. The rewards for killing the Giant Corpse and climbing the rankings were so generous that he couldn’t possibly use them all.
The base’s orchard and vegetable garden were also under construction. Once completed, they could reduce their reliance on dry rations and other purchased supplies.
Recently, Qian Hui had started playing the game’s blind box lottery.
He didn’t play much, only drawing a few times over several days. Surprisingly, his luck was quite good, netting him three bottles of Evolution Liquid and a modified car.
The remaining items were mostly bricks and similar materials, which he stored at the foot of the mountain for the plants to use in crafting their preferred furniture.
With nothing else to do during the day, Qian Hui casually drew ten more times.
[ New item obtained! Added to Game Backpack. ]
Curious, Qian Hui checked his backpack, his eyes widening slowly.
[ Transformation Potion x1 ]
[ Price: Randomly drawn from blind box ]
[ Usage: Consume before complete zombification to halt the process and reverse it back to human form. Transformation time varies and may cause side effects such as behavioral abnormalities, making the user appear like a true zombie… Do not worry, the transformation has begun; simply endure and wait. If already fully zombified, the potion will have no effect or side effects. ]
[ Note: The potion only transforms one’s constitution; physical appearance remains unchanged. ]
Qian Hui held his breath and read the usage instructions three times.
[ Before complete zombification… then I should be able to use it? ]
Qian Hui remembered the Game Notification that had called him an “incomplete form.”
And even if it didn’t work, there wouldn’t be any adverse effects.
Of course, Qian Hui wanted to become human again. Even if his appearance couldn’t change… becoming human might make his constitution stronger than his current half-human, half-zombie state.
His body was too weak. Even kissing for more than two minutes left him exhausted, and he couldn’t find any way to alleviate it.
If he became human, his appearance would remain the same, but his breathing and heartbeat would be more pronounced. The plants would surely accept him.
Overwhelmed with excitement, Qian Hui immediately ran to find Nan Tingjin. “Xiao Jin!”
He told Nan Tingjin about the potion, but Nan Tingjin frowned slightly. “No.”
Qian Hui was crestfallen. “Why not?”
“What if there are other side effects? You can’t just take medicine without knowing,” Nan Tingjin said soothingly. “It’s fine as it is now.”
Qian Hui, however, believed that the items from the Game Shop couldn’t be wrong.
He hesitated, offering a few explanations, but Nan Tingjin remained unconvinced.
Qian Hui reluctantly dropped the matter for the time being. Later that afternoon, when Nan Tingjin left for the Black Ridge Mountain Base, Qian Hui secretly took the potion and went to find Carrot and Carnivorous Flower.
In the grassy clearing, a group of plants gathered around Qian Hui, their serious gazes fixed on the potion bottle in his hand.
Carrot remained skeptical. “Woo?”
A magical potion like this? Could it really work?
Carnivorous Flower also urged Qian Hui to be cautious, but Qian Hui had already made up his mind.
“It’ll definitely work,” he said. “I believe…”
Only Qian Hui truly understood the extent of the Game’s assistance over the past months.
He took a deep breath, gripped the potion bottle tightly, and tilted his head back to drink it all in one gulp.
The plants watched with wide eyes, anxiously awaiting his reaction.
With a plop, the empty bottle fell to the ground. Qian Hui shook his head, feeling slightly dizzy.
He rubbed his eyes, then looked up, his gaze drifting between confusion and hesitation as he regarded the plants around him.
Qian Hui’s eyes grew increasingly bright.
Sweet Pepper, worried, leaned closer to check on him, only to be suddenly grabbed by Qian Hui.
Without hesitation, Qian Hui bit down, gnawing on Sweet Pepper’s forehead.
But since he wasn’t a real zombie, Qian Hui’s second bite didn’t even break Sweet Pepper’s skin.
Sweet Pepper froze in shock, and the surrounding plants stood equally stunned.
In the next moment, Carnivorous Flower swiftly pulled Qian Hui away. Sweet Pepper clutched its head and fled, screaming, only to scream its way back moments later.
Qian Hui struggled in frustration, biting Carnivorous Flower’s leaf again and reaching for the nearest Big Pea.
Big Pea nimbly dodged, while Mango bravely stepped forward, closing its eyes in a gesture of heroic sacrifice, only to be hastily dragged away by Cabbage.
Just then, footsteps echoed from behind.
“Qian Hui?”
Nan Tingjin had returned.
The plants turned their heads to see Nan Tingjin approaching, Yuan Ji standing motionless behind him.
Nan Tingjin knelt down before Qian Hui, his voice deep as he asked, “What’s going on here?”
Nan Tingjin clearly didn’t know… Carnivorous Flower instinctively loosened its grip, and Sunflower, standing nearby, tried to explain.
But Qian Hui was faster. Scenting the sweet aroma of a High-Tier Ability User, he lunged forward with a growl, pinning Nan Tingjin to the ground.
The plants and Yuan Ji watched in horror as Qian Hui bit down on Nan Tingjin’s Adam’s apple, seemingly grinding his teeth for emphasis.
