At the Rock Tribe’s camp, Meng Tai, Shi Jie, Xiong Dan, and Ge Xing stood at the front of the assembled group.

While Shi Jie and Xiong Dan carefully tallied the items for trade, Ge Xing stood lazily under the sun, humming a tune even he didn’t recognize, thoroughly enjoying himself.

Meng Tai walked over to the Watson Tribe’s group and asked Ji Nuan, “Shaman, have you thought of any way to treat the Sacred Wood Treants’ worm disease?”

Ji Nuan gave a wry smile. “It’s not that simple. You said it yourself—the Sacred Wood Treants are immune to herbal remedies, so even using medicine powder won’t help.”

Meng Tai studied her expression and, seeing no hint of deception, sighed in disappointment. “It seems this is going to be very difficult.”

Ji Nuan nodded. “We’ll have to assess the situation when we arrive. If any of the treants can endure the pain, I can try surgically removing the parasites from their bodies.”

Meng Tai could only nod in reluctant agreement.

After the Rock Tribe and Grizzly Tribe finished their inventory checks, the large convoy finally set off for Beast God Mountain.

The forest air was hot and humid, leaving everyone drenched in sweat and uncomfortable. Adding to the tension, this season brought out all kinds of poisonous insects, keeping Ji Nuan on edge throughout the journey.

To cope, she retrieved a small bottle from the leather pouch at her waist and applied its contents to her skin.

“Hey, why are all the bugs avoiding her?”

“Get lost!”
“Haha!”

With the insect issue resolved, the group’s pace nearly doubled.

As evening approached, Chief Shi Jie led the beastmen to a clearing on a hilltop. “This area is home to firefruit trees, so there are no other plants or poisonous insects here. We’ll rest here for the night.”

He raised his voice and pointed to a fiery red grove ahead. “That’s the firefruit forest. Do not enter under any circumstances. Touching the firefruit will make your body feel like it’s on fire.”

Ji Nuan’s eyes widened in fascination. She turned excitedly to Xiu Yan. “Does touching this fruit really set you on fire? Wouldn’t it be useful for starting fires if we took some to Beast God Mountain?”

The beastmen nearby, in the middle of snacking on fruits, immediately burst out laughing, struggling to hold it in as their faces turned red.

Ji Nuan’s expression darkened as she realized she’d misunderstood something. Glaring at them, she turned to Xiu Yan. “What did Chief Shi Jie mean by ‘burning up’?”

Xiu Yan chuckled softly and patted her head. “When your skin touches a firefruit, it feels like being burned by fire. The pain is so intense that some beastmen have died from it. It’s an incredibly dangerous fruit.”

Ji Nuan’s eyes sparkled as she gazed at the distant grove. “Brother Xiu Yan, take me there. I want to pick some.”

Xiu Yan immediately frowned, his handsome lips forming a stern line. “Nuan Nuan, it’s too dangerous.”

Ji Nuan responded with a mysterious smile. Standing up, she grabbed a forearm-sized porcelain bottle from a backpack near Xiu Yan and donned a pair of black gloves from her waist pouch. “Let’s go!”
