Soon, the sound of two females crying filled the air.

Mo Na glared at him but swallowed her food. “What’s so important that you had to call me over?”

Mo Na’s eyes lit up. “I want to go too! I’ll go with you.”

Mo Zhu shook his head. “You’re going, but not with me. You’ll be going with Mo Peisi.”

Mo Na pouted, clearly displeased. “If you don’t want me to go, then I won’t. But there’s no way I’m going with that wild cub.”

Mo Zhu sat up, the smile fading from his face as his tone turned serious. “Nana, you need to understand—right now, the only one who can challenge me for the chief position is Mo Peisi. If we let him go to other mountain forests and build alliances unchecked, my chances of becoming the chief will shrink significantly.”

He gently touched her head and continued, “If Mo Peisi becomes chief, the first people he’ll target are us.”

His gaze darkened as he looked at her.

Mo Na shivered, the gravity of his words sinking in. “We absolutely can’t let that happen.”

Her expression hardened with determination. “Fine. I’ll go with Mo Peisi. I’ll keep an eye on him.”

Mo Zhu’s eyes gleamed with approval. He patted her head affectionately. “Good girl, Nana.”

Snapping out of her recollection, Mo Na wiped the tears from her face and sat up from her mother’s embrace. “Mother, I’ve already told Father everything that happened in the Ainilu Mountain forest. I’m sure he won’t let Mo Peisi off so easily.”

The female stroked her hair gently. “Nana, you’re just a young female. Leave these matters to your brother. Don’t take on too much. Your only task is to keep your position in your father’s heart, understand?”
