Leisurely Life in the Beast World - Chapter 342
Ji Nuan, … So, this guy stood at the gate earlier not because he was reluctant to leave her but because he was worried about his safety as an ox and feared being hunted by the beastmen?
Ji Nuan immediately puffed up like an angry pufferfish.
“Xiao Moomoo! Come back and return the collar I made with my own hands! You ungrateful ox!”
Xiao Moomoo, happily trotting toward his future wife, acted as though he hadn’t heard a thing. Darling, here comes Moo~
“Mo Na, are you sure you want to return now?” A burly beastman asked, glancing at Mo Na, whose face was twisted in anger.
Mo Na shot him a sidelong glare. “I’m sure. I want to go back right now and tell my father everything that happened here. I’ll make him side with me and drive Mo Peisi out of the tribe.”
The beastman sneered. “That’s impossible. Mo Peisi is the chief’s son. the chief would never expel his own child.”
For once, Mo Na didn’t bother arguing. Her eyes flashed with an inscrutable glint. “That’s not something you need to worry about. Your only job is to take me back.”
“What about the rest of the tribe?” The beastman gestured to the group behind them.
Impatiently, Mo Na replied, “You’ll take me back first. Then I’ll have my father send flying beastmen to pick them up. That’ll be much easier than you ferrying them one by one, won’t it?”
The beastman had no choice but to nod reluctantly. Turning to the group, he said, “You all stay here and find a place to wait for a few days. I’ll return with the flying beastmen after taking Mo Na back.”
The tribe members exchanged uncertain glances but eventually nodded in agreement.
The beastman turned his back to Mo Na and crouched down. “Hop on. Let’s head back early.”
Mo Na smiled and climbed onto his back. The beastman wrapped his arms around her legs and slowly took off.
As the tribe members and forest receded into the distance, Mo Na turned her head back toward the trees and sneered. “Watson Tribe, Mo Peisi, just wait for my revenge.”
Meanwhile, the Mo Peisi she mentioned had finally reached the settlement of the Rock Tribe.
“Stop right there! Which tribe are you from?” A patrolling beastman noticed the unfamiliar group approaching the tribe’s territory and quickly intercepted them.
Mo Peisi smiled warmly. “I’m Mo Peisi from the Sera Tribe. I’ve come to meet with Chief Shi Jie and Chief Xiong Dan.”
Hearing that he was looking for the chiefs, the patrolling beastman frowned and barked orders to his companions. “Stay here and keep an eye on them. I’ll inform the chiefs.”
Turning back to Mo Peisi, he added, “Wait here. I’ll ask the chiefs about you.”
Mo Peisi nodded with a pleasant demeanor, seemingly unaffected by the beastman’s harsh attitude.
As the patrol disappeared into the distance, the smile on Mo Peisi’s face faded, replaced by a dark and brooding expression. The thought that he, the son of a major tribe’s chief, had to humor a lowly patrolling beastman filled him with seething rage.
“Mo Peisi…” An old beastman noticed Mo Peisi’s growing agitation and quickly stepped forward. “Don’t forget, there are beastmen from two Ainilu Forest tribes here.”
Mo Peisi took a deep breath, forcing himself to suppress his rising anger. He exhaled slowly, curving his lips into a smile. “I understand, uncle. Don’t worry.”
The older beastman finally relaxed. Looking at the beastman he had watched grow up, his heart swelled with pride.
