Leisurely Life in the Beast World - Chapter 314
Xiu Yan, we checked this area. There are about twenty purple fruit trees scattered around, but no stinky fruit trees have been found yet,” Ya Li reported while sitting on Mo Qi’s back.
Xiu Yan frowned slightly. “How about we have the beastmen dig up a few trees and send them back first?”
Ya Li also found it challenging. The purple fruit trees were too few and too spread out, making it seem like a waste of time for the beastmen to make the trip.
Ji Nuan chimed in with a smile, “Brother Xiu Yan, why don’t you have the beastmen dig a big pit here, then uproot the scattered trees and replant them all together? If you water them before you leave, they won’t die right away.”
The two beastmen immediately acted on Ji Nuan’s idea without any hesitation, instructing the others to proceed as suggested.
Beastmen worked quickly. In no time, two large pits, each about ten square meters, were ready before Ji Nuan’s eyes.
Next, the beastmen paired up, digging up the scattered purple fruit trees in the forest and transplanting them into the prepared pits. Meanwhile, Ji Nuan stayed close to Xiu Yan, obediently collecting herbs and wild vegetables nearby.
The small forest wasn’t very large. In less than two hours, all the purple fruit trees had been relocated.
“Let’s go,” Xiu Yan said, crouching down to let Ji Nuan climb onto his back. Once she was seated securely, he stood up and led the beastmen toward a more distant area.
…
“Brother, we’ve been traveling for so long, but we haven’t come across a single tribe! Does this wretched place even have any tribes?” Mo Na complained angrily, throwing the roasted meat in her hand to the ground.
Mo Peisi calmly picked up the meat covered in dirt, gently brushing it clean before tearing off a piece and eating it without any change in expression. “Nana, prey is scarce in this area. We can barely hunt a few clucking beasts or long-eared beasts. Food is precious to us now, so we can’t waste it.”
Mo Na’s eyebrows shot up, her voice sharp. “Mo Peisi, what’s that supposed to mean? Are you accusing me of wasting food? Even Father has never spoken to me like this! I’m going to tell him, and there’s no way I’ll let you become the next chief!”
Mo Peisi continued eating his roasted meat unhurriedly, his smile not reaching his eyes. “Why get so angry, Sister? With so little prey here, what tribe would live in a place like this? Let’s keep searching.”
Ignoring Mo Peisi’s words, Mo Na kicked at the dirt beneath her feet, mumbling to herself.
An elderly beastman’s gaze grew colder as he watched Mo Na. This young female was truly insufferable, making him want to…
Mo Peisi walked over, nudging the old beastman with his foot. He gave him a deep look before returning to his seat on a large rock, continuing to eat his roasted meat.
The old beastman took a deep breath, suppressing the murderous intent rising within him.
After finishing their midday meal and resting for a while, the group of beastmen resumed their journey toward the distant forest.
“There’s a stinky fruit tree here!” Ji Nuan called out from her seat on Xiu Yan’s back, signaling to the beastmen in the distance.
Two teams of beastmen rushed over upon hearing her, carefully digging up the tree and transplanting it into one of the prepared pits.
“Hey, Mo Qi, can’t you keep your mouth empty for once? You look ridiculous,” Ya Li teased while coiled on Mo Qi’s back like a mosquito coil.
Mo Qi shook his head and replied, “It’s sweet.”
