“Ah Nuan! Ah Nuan!” Ji Nuan was woken up from her nap by Ge Ye’s loud voice, accompanied by Song Yu’s softer murmurs. “Ji Nuan might be sleeping. It’s not good to disturb her, right? Maybe we should come back later?”

Hearing Song Yu’s words, Ge Ye hesitated, intending to curb her excitement and follow him back. However, before they could leave, Ji Nuan’s voice came from inside the tent. “Wait for me. I’ll be right out.”

Once woken up, Ji Nuan always became fully alert. She quickly put on her beast hide clothes, lifted the beast hide flap of her tent, and stepped out. As she walked to the water jar to fetch water for washing, she looked at the clearly energetic Ge Ye and asked, “What’s got you so excited today?”

Ge Ye ran up and grabbed Ji Nuan’s arm, shaking it vigorously. Her little mouth pouted so high it could hang an oil bottle. “Ah Nuan, you’re so biased! You made such a soft and comfy cotton mat, and you didn’t make one for me first!”

Ji Nuan glared at her. “And isn’t the little cub yours?”

Ge Ye sheepishly pulled a face and leaned closer. “Oh, Ah Nuan, can’t you make a soft cotton mat for me too? It’s so soft and comfy, and I really want one!”

Ji Nuan pushed the shameless female’s face away. “Go away. The cotton collected today was only enough to make one small blanket. Once there’s more cotton, I’ll make one for you.”

Ge Ye shamelessly pressed further. “Will I be the first one you make it for?”

Ji Nuan shot her a look. “The first one will go to grandmother, of course. After that, I’ll give you some cotton so you can make it yourself.”

Ge Ye instantly looked like her head had doubled in size. “Ah Nuan, I… I don’t know how to sew a cotton mat!”

Ji Nuan glanced at the beastman standing next to her. “Don’t you have several capable partners? Why are you worried?”

Hearing this, Ge Ye suddenly beamed with pride and laughed cheekily.

“Ah Nuan! Xiao Ye! Come here quickly and look!” Shouts and laughter came from the distance. Ji Nuan recognized the voices of Qi Mo and Xiao Pipi.

She turned to Ge Ye. “What are they up to? There are so many beastmen gathered.”

Ge Ye scratched her head and said, “Before I went to sleep, I think I heard Qi Mo and Xiao Pipi say they were going to catch some little quack beasts and clucking beasts.”

Hearing this, Ge Ye got excited and dashed off like a gust of wind.

Ji Nuan could only sigh helplessly at Ge Ye’s lively personality and followed after her.

When they arrived, there was already a large crowd of beastmen and females. Many carried baskets covered with large leaves, and faint chirping sounds came from inside the baskets.

Ji Nuan walked up to Qi Mo, lifted the leaves covering her basket, and saw five fluffy clucking beast cubs chirping and moving around. They were incredibly cute.

Reaching out to touch one of the cubs, Ji Nuan was startled when the seemingly weak little creature fiercely pecked her hand. It didn’t hurt at all, but it still surprised her.

Qi Mo quickly replaced the leaves over the basket and pulled Ji Nuan’s hand to check. “Are you alright? I forgot to tell you, these little guys are surprisingly aggressive. Several of us young females have been pecked by them.”

Ji Nuan waved her hand in front of Qi Mo’s face and smiled. “It’s fine, it’s fine. These little guys have no strength at all. Their pecks don’t even hurt.”
