Leisurely Life in the Beast World - Chapter 254
Fu Yi continued, “But those two beastmen haven’t given up. They’re planning to bring over someone familiar to us. If I’m not mistaken, it should be that eagle beastman who came yesterday.”
Ge Xing scratched his head and sighed. “Why are these beastmen so terrible? Unlike us… there aren’t many kindhearted beasts like us left! Ah…” His exaggerated lamentation caused the other beastmen present to involuntarily twitch their faces in discomfort. Fu Yi couldn’t bear to stay in the tent any longer and shifted back into his furry cub form. With his round, plump behind leading the way, he waddled out of the tent. He simply couldn’t stand Ge Xing’s shameless behavior.
Ge Xing waved dismissively. “We’ll deal with it when they come. If we can rescue that eagle beastman, we won’t need to bother with the others. Let them fend for themselves.”
The shaman nodded and said, “The Beast God would never forgive such greedy and shameless beasts.”
Meanwhile, unbeknownst to the beastmen, prey that had been absent for a long time in the Ainilu Mountains had started to reappear. The predatory beasts at the back of the migrating herd were gradually retreating…
“Ah Nuan, look what we found!” Ge Ye called out as she raised her hand. Nestled in her palm was a dusty little duckling.
The duckling looked at Ji Nuan with its tiny, bead-like black eyes and let out a soft, faint chirp.
Ji Nuan was delighted and took the duckling carefully into her hands. “Is this a little quack beast?”
Ge Ye nodded enthusiastically. “Yes! Haha, there’s a whole bunch of them in the tall grass behind the tribe. And there are also lots of clucking beasts running around in the bushes nearby. Haha!”
Ji Nuan was overjoyed. She patted Ge Ye’s small shoulder and said, “Xiao Ye, you’ve done something big for the tribe this time!”
Ge Ye’s eyes sparkled. “Really?”
Ji Nuan nodded. “If we raise these quack beasts and clucking beasts, we’ll have two more food sources besides fish. What do you think?”
“Hahaha! Then I’ll call Qi Qi, Xiao Pipi, and the others to help catch more of them right away,” Ge Ye exclaimed, even more excited after receiving Ji Nuan’s praise. She eagerly waved her arms and prepared to dash off.
Ji Nuan quickly grabbed her hand. “Calm down for a moment! Go inform uncle about this first. Have the beastmen build two separate enclosures in the planned breeding area. Don’t mix the quack beasts and clucking beasts together.”
Ge Ye pouted. “But won’t that take a few days?”
Ji Nuan chuckled. “Beastmen work fast. At most, it’ll be ready by tomorrow. What’s the rush? Go on now!”
“Alright!” Ge Ye replied before bounding away, her figure gradually disappearing in the distance.
Watching Ge Ye hop away, Ji Nuan shook her head with amusement. This Xiao Ye… She’s already a cub’s mother but still so carefree. Her cub is practically being raised by Song Yu, Di Feng, and the others, while she spends her days running around outside playing.
Just then, a beastman ran up from a distance, his tone urgent. “Ji Nuan, when the beastmen were gathering green mud, they found something strange. If you accidentally touch it, it makes you itch terribly, and scratching doesn’t help. It wasn’t until Ge Tai accidentally fell into the water that we discovered rinsing it off with water stops the itching. We brought some back with us.”
Ji Nuan frowned and followed the beastman. “What does it look like?”
The beastman scratched his head and gestured with his arms in a circle. “It’s big—about the size of a cloud in the sky!”
