Xiong Dan said, “If we keep fending for ourselves, none of us will survive this great beast tide. The only way to ensure the survival of at least part of our tribes is to form an alliance.”

His words plunged the chiefs into deep thought. Though their four tribes were each sizable, boasting more than ten thousand beastmen in the Ainilu Forest, they were nothing in the face of the beast tide’s might.

Sang Guo hesitated only briefly before nodding. “The fruit Tribe has no objections. For the survival of our tribe, forming an alliance is the best option.”

Xiong Dan’s eyes glimmered with understanding, and he nodded with a smile.

The fruit Tribe’s land was rich with diverse and delicious fruit trees. Though they lacked the hunting prowess of the other three tribes, they traded their delectable fruits for enough meat to meet their needs. Facing the beast tide, the fruit Tribe, with its weaker combat strength, knew that without uniting with stronger tribes, it might not survive.

Seeing Sang Guo’s decisive agreement, Shi Jie followed with a nod. “The Rock Tribe agrees to join. We can provide the sharpest stone weapons for the beastmen in combat.”

With two tribes on board, Teng Kui finally grew restless. He raised his head and said, “An alliance is fine, but who will lead the alliance of the three tribes?”

Though Teng Kui didn’t directly say he wanted to lead, the glint in his eyes betrayed his ambition.

Xiong Dan wasn’t about to let that happen. Smiling, he said, “This is just a temporary alliance to combat the beast tide. If anything comes up, we chiefs can discuss it with the shaman together.”

A shadow briefly crossed Teng Kui’s face, but he forced a smile. “That’s what I thought too. Agreed.”

After a moment of thought, Xiong Dan added, “I think we should also include the Watson Tribe. This will bolster our strength.”

Teng Kui and the other two chiefs frowned in unison. “The Watson Tribe is such a small tribe; if they join, we’ll need to protect them.”

Narrowing his eyes, Teng Kui said, “We can protect them, but what benefits can they offer us?”

Shi Jie chimed in, “Exactly. We can’t risk our beastmen to protect them for nothing!”

Although Sang Guo said nothing, she nodded in agreement.

After a moment of contemplation, Xiong Dan said, “Let me talk to them first. It’s best if we all gather at the Rock Tribe’s Mountain. The high ground will better withstand beast attacks.”

Once the other three left, Xiong Dan donned his beast hide and set out for the Watson Tribe with a few beastmen.

Meanwhile, Ge Xing, the chief of the Watson Tribe, was busy leading his people in building a defensive wall.

“Chief! Chief! The chief of the Grizzly Tribe is here to see you again!” A beastman’s booming voice echoed across half the Watson Tribe.

Walking behind the loud beastman, Xiong Dan rolled his eyes exaggeratedly. What’s with this brat? Acting like I’m some unwanted guest. Did I eat your food or something?

Ge Xing paused for a moment. “What’s that big bear doing here again?”
