Leisurely Life in the Beast World - Chapter 206
Di Feng, Song Yu, and Nan Xing had ventured out in search of a mother Mehmeh Beast to provide milk for their newly born cub. They had been searching for several days when they finally spotted a mother Mehmeh Beast out foraging. Excited, they rushed forward to capture it.
Unexpectedly, they encountered a group of unfamiliar beastmen in the forest.
Seeing no hostility from the strangers, Bo Sen relaxed his stance. “We’re out hunting. While crossing the snowy plains, we came across a group of Hyena Beastmen who mentioned plans to attack a place called the Watson Tribe. We’re following them to warn the Watson Tribe.”
Di Feng, staring at the group, found the beastmen oddly familiar. When Bo Sen spoke, recognition flashed in his eyes, and he smirked with a playful glint. “Your tribe from the Nia Forest keeps venturing into our Ainilu Forest. Are there no prey left in your jungle?”
Bo Sen was taken aback and carefully scrutinized the speaking beastman.
Di Feng chuckled. “Forgot about me, did you? Last time, your tribe captured one of our shaman apprentices, and Xiu Yan strung you up on a tree.”
Bo Sen: …
Why bring that up?! Beastmen have pride too!
Na Wei, standing nearby, watched the scene unfold with barely contained amusement. Inside, he relished the irony of Bo Sen being called out. So this is what karma looks like. Who’s laughing now? Weren’t you just threatening to hang me up earlier?
(You silly beast! Did you forget you were strung up last time too?)
Xiao Pipi, noticing how lively the conversation seemed—like old acquaintances catching up—finally stepped out from behind Bo Sen. Her big, curious eyes darted around as if she were a tiny trickster.
“Hello! Do you happen to know the Watson Tribe?” Xiao Pipi asked cautiously.
Di Feng and the other beastmen exchanged glances. Song Yu grinned and said, “Of course. Our territories are adjacent!”
What a coincidence!
Xiao Pipi nodded earnestly. “Then could you please let them know? We ran into Hyena Beastmen from the Ainilu Mountains, led by a female, planning to attack the Watson Tribe. That female was originally from their tribe—she’s so terrible!”
Her words caused the beastmen to stiffen, their eyes narrowing. A female expelled from the tribe? That could only be Man Li.
“We were out here to catch this Mehmeh Beast. Why don’t you come back to the tribe with us? Ji Nuan and Xiu Yan will be happy to see you,” Di Feng suggested, looking at Bo Sen.
“Ji Nuan? the shaman apprentice we captured last time?” Bo Sen grimaced, avoiding any mention of Xiu Yan’s name, which brought back bad memories.
Di Feng nodded. “Yes. If there’s anything you need, you can tell us directly.”
Bo Sen hesitated only briefly before nodding in agreement. Their goal was to reach the Watson Tribe anyway, and having a guide would make things much easier.
(You’re probably planning to get more of that medicine powder to cure worm diseases from Ji Nuan, aren’t you? After all, having connections makes things easier!)
Once Bo Sen agreed, Di Feng and the others covered the Mehmeh Beast’s mouth and hoisted it over their shoulders. “Let’s go. We’ll take the back mountain route to avoid the Hyena Beastmen. Their noses are too sharp.”
Bo Sen and his group followed closely behind the beastmen. Soon, their figures disappeared into the dense forest.
Although Xiao Pipi was just a young female, her stamina matched that of the male beastmen. The thick snow on the ground didn’t slow her down in the slightest.
