Leisurely Life in the Beast World - Chapter 205
“Hyena Tribe…” Bo Sen’s eyes flickered with contemplation. A moment later, as if struck by an idea, a sly smile tugged at the corners of his mouth. “Let’s go, everyone. Follow this group of hyenas, and when they rest, we’ll get ahead of them and reach the Watson Tribe first. We’ll warn them about the Hyena Tribe’s impending attack and convince them to lead us to the Tumang Tribe.”
Na Wei’s eyes lit up. “Ha! Bo Sen, you’re a genius!”
The surrounding beastmen cast admiring looks at Bo Sen.
Xiao Pipi, surprised, glanced up at the tall beastman in front of her. He was completely overturning her expectations of beastmen. So clever!
(Oh, child, you’re so naive. Who’s scheming whom here is still up for debate.)
“Eh?” Gou Tui wrinkled his nose, his expression briefly confused. He beckoned to another beastman, “Take a few of our group and scout the area. I think I caught the scent of another beastman just now.”
Man Li quickly sat up from his embrace. “Could it be a hunting party from another tribe?”
Gou Tui shook his head. “I’m not sure. It seems we’re not the only ones braving the cold season. We’ll need to be more cautious moving forward.”
The scouting party moved quickly, surveying the surrounding environment thoroughly in a short amount of time.
“Chief, there’s indeed a hunting party nearby. We were careful—they didn’t notice us. Should we go after them…?” The beastman’s eyes gleamed with cruelty as he spoke.
Gou Tui hesitated for a moment before shaking his head. “Forget it. Our target is the Watson Tribe. If we kill these beasts here and alert the local tribes, our efforts will be wasted. Tell everyone to stay cautious and find a more concealed path.”
The beastman acknowledged the order and walked away.
As the distant group gradually disappeared from view, Bo Sen and his companions finally exhaled in relief.
Na Wei clutched his chest dramatically. “Luckily, we weren’t discovered! That was terrifying. Who would’ve thought that beastman’s sense of smell would be so sharp? I barely moved closer, and he almost caught me!”
Bo Sen raised his arm and punched him. “Behave yourself from now on. If we get discovered again like that, I’ll hang you from a tree and leave you there for days.”
Na Wei: …
Bo Sen: …
(Don’t you think it’s ironic to bring up past mistakes? Wasn’t it you who got hung on a tree last time too?)
“The Hyena Tribe lives in the Ainilu Mountains. They usually have plenty of food and don’t leave their territory. But as the cold season approaches, they come out to raid other tribes for food and females. Our tribe has been targeted many times,” Xiao Pipi whispered nearby.
Bo Sen’s face immediately darkened as soon as she finished speaking.
“Who’s there?!” He quickly pulled Xiao Pipi behind him and stared at the rustling bushes in the distance.
The rest of the beastmen formed a protective circle around Bo Sen, their expressions tense as though facing a deadly enemy.
Xiao Pipi shrank behind Bo Sen nervously, clutching his arm tightly as she cautiously peered toward the bushes.
“Meh~~~” A Mehmeh Beast poked its head out from the bushes, calmly surveying the on-edge group of beastmen. Unbothered, it lowered its head to chew on some nearby tree bark.
The beastmen: …
Xiao Pipi: …
What the heck?! Where did this Mehmeh Beast come from?
“You there, which tribe are you from? Why are you here?” a deep voice asked.
Emerging from behind the Mehmeh Beast were several tall and muscular beastmen. Unlike others who simply draped hides over their shoulders, these men wore their hides in a strange, fitted fashion, as if tailored to stay securely on their bodies without slipping.
